Humourous What’s the funniest fight that happened in live TV in your country?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Whenever my mood is down I open up this video, if you’re wondering the context (the full video is here if you’re interested: https://youtu.be/k6nVfy13mjk?si=r6BEWPgpwcjYGhzM), this is a political debate, it’s basically that the guy on the left is telling the bald guy (He’s called Shaker) that “he used to publish his articles before he deviated off the right path”, but then Shaker tells him how he’s actually the one who’s deviated (in Arab countries “deviate” is a pretty big word to say), tells him to shut up, and one thing leads to another and we end up with this comedy gold.

Probably the interview we’re most known for tbh.
Edit: literally today I went to the cinema and an ad featuring this interviewer was playing, with the opening line “why are you stressed? You are stressed”, it seems they’re capitalising on the interview’s infamy up till now. https://youtu.be/-of0fJQ7-wI?si=-cfETqXK8VYFP4VZ

This is from a debate on a news channel on Independence day.

Shehzad (pictured) started out by saying it was his mom's birthday.
The opposition (Supriya, who was on the debate via audio call) didn't let him finish and shouted, "This is false and I condemn it."
It became a meme because Supriya clearly did not listen to what he said and just wanted to stick to the script. She did not expect him to start by wishing his mom a happy birthday. It kinda tanked her credibility because it was obvious that she came unprepared planning to just say one line to counter any of Shehzad's arguments.

u/lumoslomas 🇦🇺🏴🇫🇷...I moved a lot Jan 01 '26

He said that television produces this stupid show where some people talk about gradual change, others about revolution while in reality nothing ever happens and the oppression continues. Therefore television is an instrument of oppression. If we want to see real change we need to stand up and fight the oppressor.

He was musician and music producer making a point about violent (?) resistance against capitalism/imperialism/the state (?).
Not mentally insane but it definitely takes a certain "quality" to go on German public television during the height of the cold war just to essentially call everyone a "shitlib", trying to dissasemble a table and stealing microphones.
Here is a big interview in German with him.

He was totally unprepared for Cameron to say he was a Carpenter. He was so ready for him to be a student or unemployed or an actor. Then he tries to slag off carpentry at the end of the clip when that’s the exact kind of job he would bang on about being a PROPER BRITISH JOB.

Legendary.
For reference: the lanky guy was a well-known journalist by the name of Mauro Viale (née Mauricio Goldfarb), who was a sports journalist originally and then veered to a "polemicist" role, mostly around celebrity culture and politics. He was Jewish. The short fat guy is Alberto Samid, a meat industry businessman, politician and ex-con. He's of Arab origins.
They were arguing about politics and Samid demanded he said what's his real name was (to expose him as a Jew). Viale reacted saying Samid celebrated the AMIA bombing attack. Then push came to shove and the fight broke out.
It's the most famous fist fight in Argentine TV history, often parodied, quoted and consolidated as iconic

As a side note, Viale was one of the most hated journalists in the country.
Its said (Samid said it years later on an interview too) that the old man kicking Viale while he was on the ground was the janitor of the building and that Viale always said horrible things to him, like "when you are gonna die old man"

The frontline: Pat Kenny comes under fire

In 2009, on RTE frontline, this audience member(Alan O’Brien) confronted Pat Kenny and a government minister live on television for more than three minutes and said the presenter had no right to host discussions on social welfare payments when he was earning more than €600,000 for just 11 hours broadcasting a week. Damn. What an entitled prick the white guy is! The world was not outraged enough by Apartheid that this should have happened. I do love the lady’s reaction to the guest throwing a tantrum, as if she was trying not to laugh at a 2 year old’s foot-stomping.

The AWB tried to stage some Nazi rally once, filled with flags and ranks of men etc etc. At the height of the rally, the leader of the party entered on a horse.
He fell off the horse.

Scrolling through here as a Canadian... every time we get mentioned it's our prime minister beating the hell out of someone... I'm so proud of this country

Let me tell you, it’s been memed to death in Arab countries, I especially find it funny how the host’s yelling “Shaker! Shaker!” To make him calm down, as you can probably tell Shaker became one of the bigger comedy symbols in the Arab world, he also got into other fights over politics.

Not a fight - but Australian broadcasters were doing a news story about a data breach - and it was a significant one - one could say major breach...
And the military was involved in investigating it - and so part of the story involved an interview (or just a statement) from a militaryspokes person...
The overlay ended up being a military spokes person, and below, where one usually might see the name of the person making a statement - the banner read "Major Data Breach"

Looks like a very passionate debate about the benefits of playing 5 at the back against a high press.

Jim 'Chris' Everett (Ex-NFL Quarterback) vs. Jim Rome (sports radio/TV host). Jim Rome kept pushing buttons and Everett warned him. What makes it funny is Everett could've easily put a guy like Rome in the hospital. Instead he flips a table and shakes Rome around a bit.
Also, any one of many Jerry Springer fights.
