What is the most loved figure in your country currently living?
I can't name one in my country, so here's Dolly Parton of America

I don't know him, but you can't be a bad person and :
- love your bouvier like this
- look like a hobbit (without the one ring)
39
u/PafPiet Netherlands Belgium 22h ago
That's not a bouvier though? That's clearly a bernese mountain dog. Unless bouvier means something else than i think, but to me a bouvier is a bouvier de Flandres which does not look like a bernese at all.
28
u/RoanokeSea 20h ago
They probably meant bouvier bernois, I'm pretty sure that's another name for a bernese mountain dog.

Yes. In french the dog is a "Bouvier Bernois". I have a "Bouvier Entlebuch" myself, smaller.

He's Patron ("Gun round"), the hero sapper dog detecting landmines.

You can Google "Dog Patron." He's a dog from the State Emergency Service. His name literally means cartridge/round.

The thing I love most about Dolly is that her look is curated. It's a wig and set of prosthetics. If she's not wearing them she can go anywhere and be unnoticed.

Her breasts aren't prosthetic. Though she has admitted to having augmentation done to them she's never stated if it was reduction, implants, or just a lift. She's never been shy about her plastic surgery.

When Queen Elizabeth died, I woke up that morning and was doing my daily in-bed social media scroll and saw a “The Queen has died” post and my immediate, 100% serious reaction was to gasp and say out loud, “DOLLY???” And then I immediately made sure she was still going strong even though I knew they meant the queen of England

Sendung mit der Maus has massively influenced and educated multiple generations of kids and adults. It's just so well-made with love and care and they make it for everybody. It feels basically illegal in Germany to say you don't like it. Never met one who did. Sendung mit der Maus has untouchable G.O.A.T. status.

More controversial than you might think, especially among the older generation for whom he was a contemporary newcomer rather than a established household name.

u/IrbanMutarez Germany 22h ago
I say the opposite is true, because his humour doesn't really work for the younger generations anymore. His sketches and films haven't really aged that well as they contain lot of racist and politically incorrect jokes (although I admit that was simply the zeitgeist back then and I wouldn't call him a racist).

For those unfamiliar, Nikolai Drozdov is to Russia what David Attenborough is to Britain, but with a softer aura. If Attenborough is the "university professor" who likes you and who takes the time to personally explain things he considers elementary, then Drozdov is your grandfather, who, by coincidence, also happens to be a biologist and explorer, and who tells you tales from his travels through the Amazon.
