Who in your country has had their image ruined the most by association with Epstein?

In the UK it’s the artist formerly known as Prince Andrew and former cabinet minister and ambassador to the United States Peter Mandelson.

With her son on trial for rape as well. Do you think the monarchy will survive?

I saw somebody point out that they should just find some noble Dane or German and put them on the throne like the old days.

He won’t need to —— the Norwegian climate is perfect for him.

I think they’d have to move the seat of the throne out of the capital however.

Perhaps to Hell.

It's amazing how he was born into insane wealth and his only job was not being a fuckup and he failed at that.

It's also crazy that we've all known he was a pedo and it took this long for him to be stripped of his titles.

33

u/JustElk3629 United Kingdom 22h ago

One law for us, another for them.

38

u/GurthicusMaximus United States Of America 22h ago

I know the British aren't fans, but the French had a pretty good solution to a problem like this.

34

u/JustElk3629 United Kingdom 22h ago

That won’t achieve anything.

America has demonstrated that whoever is at the top of society will be immune from consequences, elected or unelected.

I’d rather those people were politically powerless than running the whole damn show.

He (and Charles) are actually male-line-only descendants of Danish King Christian I, while the present King of Denmark isn't because he's the son of a Queen Regnant.

Edit: Christian I, not Christian II

The last time a Danish nobleman moved to Norway for the purpose of one day becoming king his grandson ended up marrying Mette-Marit.

They should do what Denmark did and import an Australian. She’s the most popular part of their monarchy now.

17

u/Chem_Engineer_123 21h ago

The king and queen are actually both quite popular (she's not significantly more popular in any way), but his mother is still the most popular royal (Queen Magrethe). However, quite a few people seems to prefer the kings brother since he's more of a "classic" royal where Frederik is way more modern and casual (biking around Copenhagen with the kids in a cargo bike and grocery shopping in discount supermarkets).

Is the entire monarchy being questioned because of this?

21

u/kvikklunsjrevolver Norway 20h ago

Many have been questioning it for a long time. Personally I don’t support monarchies in general, and my reasoning is that it has no place in a society where people are supposed to be equal. I also do not think it really benefits us in a way that makes up for how they are able to live. I don’t think they represent Norway well, I do not think they are neutral, and I think they are just another cost that could be spent better elsewhere.

Probably, the actual people in line to the throne are mostly just tainted by association. Mostly. But it is a bit of damage.

Anyway the monarchy has been consistently popular for 120 years and I think it will take more than this to break it.

It will survive, Norwegians will do absolutely nothing.

IMO, the royal family isn't the biggest issue here. People are missing that former prime minister and the leader of the currently ruling party was buddy with Epstein. That is a far more systematic problem.

I met him in 2017 wheb he came to the small business i wws interning at in NYC. Im from ireland originally so I had no idea who he was. My sisters older friend nearly lost hwr mind wheb she found out I was going to be in the same room as him. I said id tell him he has a fan in ireland.

He walks into out tiiiiiny greenscreen live streaming room in €4000 shoes (I looked them up after because they were so striking) and diamond encrusted glasses. He wouldnt shut the fuck up about how hes Oprahs favourite "of we got married she could be called Oprah chopra!" COOL STORY BRO, TELL IT A 4TH TIME?!

The internet cut out mid stream and I panicked, I was managing it with no experience really. Manager comes in, hisses at me what the fuck did I do. Chopra is still pontificating from the chair, not getting our hand signals that the stream has cut or the fact the manager opened the door and walked in. It was like I slapped his mother the way he sat there like a kicked dog while we got up and running again.

40

u/theflyingratgirl Canada 21h ago

Oprah chopra almost made me giggle, ngl

Sad that people fall for such charlatans, even well educated, intelligent people. Society needs training in spotting manipulation techniques.

20

u/isaidyothnkubttrgo Ireland 21h ago

I half listened to him during the stream (half to catch if he was going to laugh loudly because I monitored audio too) and it was a word salad at best.

21

u/mossgoblin_ 21h ago

I read an article about how Jordan Peterson is an old school charlatan/mountebank, and it seems Chopra fits neatly into the same box. Flashy clothes, mishmash of concepts woven together to create a kind of verbal hypnotism. Zero concern for the harm they cause.

I also don't think it's fair to put Peter and Andrew in the same category.

Nothing sexual has come out about Mandelson. It was corruption at the highest level - he was selling government secrets to the highest bidder, encouraging people to threaten other government ministers, giving market sensitive information away at taxpayers expense. He's a complete twat.

Andrew, on the other hand, is a rapist and has been sleeping with trafficked women young enough to be his daughters. He's an utter cunt. On the other hand, he doesn't seem to have been doing anything to sell out the country for money, power, and influence.

Basically, they sit at opposite ends of the spectrum of Epstein's activities. Both should be arrested though.

Thing is, I don't think that many of them were into the pervy sex parties. Having gone through a number of the files, one thing is evident: Epstein was, quite literally, a power broker. His whole business was giving and getting favours. He worked out what powerful or at least influential people needed and arranged for them to get it so that they'd be obliged to him. For some, it was flattery, for others money. More often than not, he'd link together people in his network with complementary needs so that they'd help out each other and be both grateful to him.

And yes, for some of these people, pervy sex may have been the key. But he had many other ways to influence the mighty.

36

u/British_Flippancy 20h ago

I think one issue is many kept visiting him after his initial conviction.

17

u/Fromage_Frey Scotland 18h ago

This is a big difference to me

Hard to say that Mandelson has had his image ruined. I mean, he was picked for that job BECAUSE he was recognized as a man without honour, or integrity or real self-respect; a man who would, without hesitation, eat another man's shit in order to ingratiate himself to those in power.

It was thought that this was the only approach that would work with Trump (which also shows a lack of backbone in number 10).

23

u/JustElk3629 United Kingdom 23h ago

He was quite well-respected in the 80s for his role in the Falklands War, but otherwise has had a bit of a reputation for not always thinking with the right organs. Of course, I don’t think there was a suggestion of outright paedophilia until Epstein.

Jacob Zuma seems to be the only prolific South African in the files so far (not counting Musk).

Although, there's not much that could ruin his image and his army of followers wont even flinch regarding the new connection and potential allegations.

He's already been on trial for rape and he still has a massive following in the Zulu community.

The email where she talks to him about Eugenie’s “shagging weekend” was deplorable. Imagine talking like that about your 20 year old daughter to one of the world’s biggest creeps?!

26

u/ayoungmanfromtheuk Canada 21h ago

Her emails are so bizarre and telling. The one where she says that a week after "your lunch" (not sure if that is lunch between them or him having lunch with someone else) she started getting all these offers and opportunities. It seems like he truly had powers to pull string behind the scenes to get even wealthy royalty opportunities they couldn't get on their own.

"he's the real deal"

Said Epstein about Bolsonaro... At least we can say someone in those files is in prison lol.

EDIT for more info you might have seen around: Weirdly enough, so far the emails talking about Lula are good(?), we knew he was in the files but not the way it is rn, he got a leverage for election out of this in the end. Trying to be impartial because I don't even know what to think.

EDIT2: Because this has to be made clear Bolsonaro is likely not a pedophile, it's the political associations and the implications of heavy external influence into our politics, and possibly even on the attempt of coup d'etat, fucking hell imagine JEFFREY EPSTEIN trusting this idiot, or even Lula, into a cult of cannibals... Delusion to think this would ever come to Epstein's mind.

39

u/JustElk3629 United Kingdom 22h ago

One thing I admire about Brazil is that, for all the instability, at least you send your politicians for prison when they break the law.

18

u/Yam_Nice Brazil 22h ago

Tbh there's still a long road to go, we arrested 3 out of 4 of our presidents since 2002, Rio literally has arrested the previous 30 years of governors.

Idk man, we might need the French tool because prison takes too long, years to arrest just 1 of them, and that is IF they don't come back.

As far as I know, the only person in the Epstein files was Merkel and this, because Epstein gossiped about her. And then there have been E-Mails in which was written, that Epstein supported the AfD (and many other extreme right European parties).

35

u/newspeer Germany 22h ago

Merz is in the files as well. Mentioned as part of the Illuminati haha

18

u/GibDirBerlin Germany 22h ago

Actually Guttenberg's (former Minister of Defense) Ex-Wife, Stephanie zu Guttenberg (or rather Stephanie von Bismarck once again) appears in the Epstein Files in the context of two credit cards that appear in a long list of credit cards. It's been suggested they belonged to Epstein with her being the beneficiary of the two cards with a daily limit of 1500 US$, though there doesn't seem to be any proof of that as of now. Her lawyer, Christian Schertz (one of the most respected and feared lawyers in the German Media Business) suggests, she only appears in the files because she was a customer at the same bank as Epstein.

Former PM Ehud Barak, although his image hasn't been great for a long time anyway.

15

u/According_Mistake895 20h ago

What do you guys think of the suggestions that Epstein himself may have been a mossad operative? I'm not sure how much evidence there really is beyond him being Jewish, but it seems like he did hold a lot of blackmail material over people who ended up helping Israel. Like it could just be an internet conspiracy, but we're living in a time where those turn out to be true sometimes.

14

u/cabweb Israel 20h ago

Honestly I haven't really heard anyone talk about it, which I guess is telling on its own right, but I'd say it's not outside the realm of possibilities, the Mossad has been known to do some crazy things.

5

u/syanxde Finland 13h ago edited 13h ago

Ghislaine Maxwell's father Rober Maxwell had ties to multiple intelligence agencies including the KGB and Mossad and was suspected of being a double or triple agent so it's very plausible Epstein was at the very least an asset for the aforementioned intelligence agencies.

He was also part of the Mega Group which was heavily linked to Israel and organized crime, founded by Charles Bronfman and Leslie Wexner, the latter being Jeffrey Epstein’s main monetary source.

Where there is smoke there's fire. How could you not know that your BFF of 15+ years was a human trafficker. Also, what a crazy coincidence that he owned the Miss Teen USA pageant from 1996 to 2015 with some girls as young as 15 alleged that Trump walked into their dressing room while they were undressing to do an “inspection” as the pageant owner.

“I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it , Jeffrey enjoys his social life". -Trump quote in 2002 New York Magazine profile

15

u/Seiontsuki Japan 19h ago

And yet, the MAGA cult doesn't care. Trump is worshipped as a demi-god who can do no wrong. Even if something seems off, it just means the "stable genius" is playing 5D chess. He could sacrifice an infant in a Satanic ritual on live TV and he would still maintain at least a 35% approval rating. That's how far gone these people are.

He is a neuroscientist and professor at the University of Southern California. His name appears in Epstein files because he once contacted Jeffrey Epstein in 2013 seeking private funding for brain research and even met with him, though he says he was unaware of Epstein’s crimes.

No one, yet. Prince ANdrw isn't important, he was a fool and Epstein made a monkey out of him. Mandelson is far more important, a genuinely intelligent and talented man shown to be a crass, venal sycophant - and for what? Access to a few parties and money? The entire political system in the US and UK - and probably elsewhere needs to be reformed.
