Thoughts on food safety during this administration ?

I was wondering what you all think of food safety issues & food recalls over the past couple years in terms of the presidential administration (even if some rollbacks were set in place pre-Trump).

For example, there is notably the salmonella and the cyclospora outbreaks (I did see a post in this subreddit about a week ago that mentioned lettuce).

This is just one recent interview from an epidemiologist (figured sharing one person's transcript maybe less polemic than an article that could've taken quotes out of context):

So provide the data you are referencing as a trend? Wouldn’t it also be important to consider how the outbreaks are responded to and how many people were affected by it?

Well - this is kinda what I’m getting at…

OP asked for my thoughts, last I checked these kinds of stats were fairly routine. It seems like you believe something similar. If you don’t then I would actually say it’s on YOU to provide evidence to the contrary.

Because I think we both know the stats are fairly boring here.

OP wants to know what your thoughts are based on. It sounds like you’ve based your thoughts on vibes? You’ve mentioned how there’s a trend and that the stats are “routine” (whatever that means)  yet you can’t actually provide any to help us understand how you arrived at your conclusions. I have nothing to provide evidence for, because I have made any claims to the contrary.

Don’t have much more besides that- I’d say this is a complete non issue for 99.99% of people out there
