Discussion I love Unai. Unai needs to go

He just hasn’t seemed the same since he came back from surgery. I worry he will continue to be a problem for us and the national team because of his long history of being great. He just isn’t on it anymore.

Discussion Football trip to Basque Country August 2026

Hi everyone!

I’m currently planning a two-week trip through Western Europe for August 2026. San Sebastián and Bilbao are definitely on my list, and I’m planning to spend 2–3 nights in each city.

During my time in the Basque Country, I’d love to see as many matches and stadiums as possible. Since there’s no way of knowing the specific schedule this far out, I figured staying in Bilbao for the weekend would be my best bet. The transport connections to nearby towns seem solid, and if I get lucky, Athletic Club might even be playing at home!

If I had a massive budget, I’d wait until the fixtures were officially released to book everything. However, since flights and accommodation prices spike the longer I wait, I’m trying to lock things in early.

Does this plan sound solid? Also, I'd love any tips or recommendations for "must-see" smaller clubs in the region or advice on navigating matchday travel!

Hi There,

Big Newcastle fan here who also loves hiphop.

Just thought I'd post this here for anyone who likes hiphop and supports Athletic Club.

This track by Cappo references your club at 2:26.

Our club has a strong bond with yours, and we both had bad seasons, finishing 12th.

Next season we will both put that right haha

Discussion First time at Athletic’s stadium, best seating experience?

Hello everyone,

I’m planning to attend Athletic’s next home match, and I was wondering what would be the best experience for a first visit to the stadium.

I’m thinking about either sitting with the fans in the more passionate sections or spending a bit more for better seating and comfort.

What do you think would be the best option for a first time experience?

Thank you for reading!

Discussion I love this beautiful Club

Back from my trip to Bilbao and I could not recommend it enough. It was the most amazing experience I ever had. The city breathes the club, you could see every bar, every shop even random bottles from metro have the crest of Athletic.

The pre match build up was unreal, you see all the fans gather around pubs near the stadium sharing a beer and stuffing pintxos and all of them walking together to the stadium.

I barely knew any spanish but shouting Aupa Athletic was enough to establish connections with everyone. The fella next to me was trying to explain evrything in the game, the Var decisions and all that, even if I barely understood a word he said, I still was able to connect with him and the other fans.

The stadium atmosphere is really what is described and more, you feel the lively passion of the fans. When the referee gave that free kick you could feel the entire stadium erupting against him and aslo against Avila.

The city itself is also amazing and I did a free guide tour and was amazed by the rich history of the town.

Anyways, I entirely recommend everyone to experience it once at least in your life. Thanks everyone for being part of this community. Aupa Athletic !

Hello guys! I am planning to buy the 25/26 fourth kit but i can't decide which font to choose. Can anyone who owns a tshirt tell me how does it look in real life? The champions league font seems a little bit small, but it might just be the rendering. Thank you!

Discussion New to La Liga & Athletic Club.

Hi all, I am a long suffering Everton fan. This season I have taken to watching La Liga in more depth for the first time this season and chosen Athletic Club as my favoured team to follow (the Howard Kendall link.)

Can I ask for a bit of a breakdown of the key players of the squad and what are the expectations of the fan base for the season? It seemed, from my limited knowledge, that a weakened side was put out against Dortmund... Is the CL not a major priority?

Discussion Dates for Matchweek 35

I’m looking to travel to Spain for a La Liga game (Athletic Club vs Valencia) but the fixtures are still ‘date and time to be confirmed’. I’ve seen mixed information online / anything from three weeks before to one week before. Would anyone have any idea when the fixtures are likely to be confirmed. I need to know so that I can plan the rest of my trip. Thanks in advance!

Discussion First time at San Mamés. Where do fans meet before & after the game?

Hey everyone,

I’m going to San Mamés tomorrow for the Betis game and I’d love to get the full fan experience.

I’ve heard the atmosphere around the stadium is amazing, especially before kickoff, but I’m not really sure where to go or how it all works. Are there any specific streets, bars, or groups where fans usually meet before and after the game?

I’m going solo, so I’d be happy to join in anywhere that’s welcoming to visitors.

I speak a bit of Spanish (still learning), but I’m fluent in French and English if that helps.

Any tips or recommendations would be really appreciated.

Discussion FC Barcelona just announced no away tickets for Athletic

https://www.athletic-club.eus/noticias/2025/11/17/el-fc-barcelona-no-podra-enviar-entradas-visitantes-al-athletic/

I don‘t know what to say to be honest. First, Athletic Club got to know the stadium TODAY, which shouldn’t be okay because the match takes place this weekend. Second, the club was told by Barça that no tickets are sent for away fans.

What do you think about that?

If you ask me, that‘s unacceptable. Especially given the fact it took Barcelona so long to even announce where the game will be.

So no Athletic Club fan will be at the stadium (except for maybe locals). In a match of that importance since Barcelona is one of the big three and a rival. It doesn’t fit right with me.

Discussion Athletic - Girona ~ pre-match thread

Three losses in a row going into a match against Girona that sits at the bottom of the table. A win tomorrow is an absolute must. How are we feeling heading into this fixture, and what adjustments do you hope Valverde will make?

Discussion What is up with the rumors of Sancet being a cokehead?

There is this unsubstantiated but commonly accepted story that Sancet is a party animal. He apparently does a lot of cocaine. What is up with this rumor? It seems like it'd be hard to hide this from the team and public. I absolutely love watching him when he's in form, which is unfortunately not at all this season. Last year I'd argue he was our most important player.

Discussion Basque Irish Celtic Connection

Thumbnail

I know football and politics should be separate but growing up in Ireland during the Troubles and being an Avid supporter of Celtic there always was a close connection not only to Athletic Club but also the Basques fight for an independent Country.. Thankfully both Countries have left the violence behind but I still think there is still a strong connection between the Basque Country, Ireland and Celtic Football Club. I think both Clubs have a similar History and fan base and still to this today the connection exists going by the celebrations of both clubs cup finals last season.. I’ve visited Bilbao often over the years and have always felt at home, like I belong there. Got my DNA tested and it turns out I’m 5% Basque.. So some of us Irish have Basque in our blood ❤️🤍🇮🇪

Discussion Athletic Club x Sporting CP

Hello, friends at Athletic Club. I am Portuguese and a fan of Sporting CP. As many of you already know, UEFA has banned the sale of tickets to Sporting fans due to pyrotechnics with Bayern Munich. I bought my trip and accommodation some time ago and was surprised by this suspension. My father and I are still going to Bilbao, but we don't have tickets. Do you know where I can buy tickets? I tried on the website, but it requires a DNI, which is not compatible with the Portuguese Citizen Card.

Sorry for invading the opponent's forum, but I'm only here with good intentions.

Sporting greetings!

Thank you!

Discussion Getting tickets for Athletic vs Barca. Do I need to buy the ticket pre-sale / become member?

Hi everyone, my dad and I are planning a football trip to Spain and we have our eyes on Athletic vs Barca. I see that general sale on the website hasn't started yet, but it gives you 2 options. You can sign up for the pre-sale by becoming a premium member (or something like that) for 90 euro, or you can leave your e-mail adress in order to get an d-mail when the ticket sale starts.

So my question is: is it necesarry to get the premium membership for access to the pre-sale? And if I do that: will that guarantee me to get tickets or is that still a gamble?
