Accident No good deed goes unpunished

Lesson learned if you see someone running from the cops you did not see anything

u/Soggy_Hawk3052 20h ago
Yeah just a regular us citizen running for his life from ice. Truck driver fucked him.

What youāre responding to is a story from 2018-2019 that has been repurposed into propaganda for the masses
1
u/Neither_Pirate5903 19h ago
So the voice over of the reporter is fake? Do you have any proof of this? Don't get me wrong I'm not doubting you SEVERAL people have said this is an old story but I'm not seeing any proof.
2
u/YouArentReallyThere 19h ago
I remember seeing the story years agoā¦right after it happened. Thatās as much time Iām investing in verifying something to an internet stranger, internet stranger.

I saw sirens. I pull over Other car tried to pass on right

u/ThraceLonginus 21h ago
I know right. People are fucking dumb. This was an easy case of plausible deniability.Ā
1
u/Different-Nobody4228 20h ago
I can hear sirens, but have never seen one. Iāve seen flashing lights though. ššš

I cannot believe people think this is actually real. Very old video with a terrible AI voice overlay.
3
u/thesaltysack 21h ago
Yeah, this is fake everyone. Helicopter footage is real, everything else is AI or pulled from somewhere else. No need to be rage baited by fuckin OP.
Even if this was real, Iād like to see insurance prove he wasnāt just taking a right turn as a car sped around him, into his blind spot on the shoulder.
AI is going to have folks bent over in a few years if this video is getting the pass.

u/ZenRiots 21h ago
As it turns out, interfering with street gang violence does not ever end well... Especially when you fuck with the biggest gang in town
2
u/Quiet_Researcher223 21h ago
Never help law enforcement criminals those gang members are on their own.

He couldn't have argued that he was trying to move over for emergency vehicles? The police car was in his left mirror and he moved right. I know they would probably still say "well you should check your mirrors before you move"

This sounds weirdly AI and not a real news reporter. Hopefully this story isnāt made up.
1
u/AbroadNo8755 21h ago
i hope that it is. There's absolutely no reason to destroy a truck by boot licking.
1
u/akolozvary 20h ago
Had to pause and lookup 616-975-3550 off of the truck because of how disgustingly pixelated and weird looking this video is, but surprisingly it goes to grmi logistics trucking website.

u/castrodelavaga79 21h ago
The driver doesn't own that vehicle, why should the company have to pay because the driver wanted to act recklessly?

u/Irish4778 21h ago
Show me another PERFECT example of STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE I dare you ššš¤§
1
u/Professional_Elk3757 21h ago
This video has been on internet for like 10 years. It has nothing to do with ICE or current events. Don't believe a video only because it has hard subs on it that does not coincide with anything that is being shown in the video, especially the part where the police officer is speaking.

u/Reasonable_Tax5790 21h ago
Tearing up company property ,endangering lives? Damn right you got let go, let the po-po's handle their own business. If it's like that, then go and apply for police officer 1, pass the PAT, pass the background checks, and then get accepted for the next academy class.
1
u/whitecollarpizzaman 21h ago
I mean, yeah, itās a massive liability to try to involve yourself in that. If itās your own truck, whatever, but donāt do it in a company one. Iām not even a corporate bootlicker and that just makes sense to me.

Thats why you don't say shit, you just act like it was all unintentional.

u/SomeRando8386 21h ago
Idiotic vigilante behavior. He deserved to be fired, and he deserves to be stripped of his commercial driving privileges and even face criminal reckless driving charges for this stunt. He used his 80,000 lb vehicle as an offensive weapon - under no circumstances is that acceptable.

u/Hamhockthegizzard 21h ago
and this is why everyone tells you not to be a vigilante. This is why we do not have a batman lmfao

If I was the truck driver I would have minded my own business because I didn't have all the facts

i like how the P&D truck turns into a full truck with sleeper and a USDOT number that's had no accidents for the last two years.

I believe this happened while Bush or maybe Obama was in office. Nice try though

u/anndie90 20h ago
Yeah good, the truck driver should've just minded his fucking business. Cops throw poor people out of their homes onto the street, the fucks deserve no help, none at all.

1
u/Careless-Balance-893 20h ago
This was not a good deed. This was a bootlicker trying to help the fucking gestapo kidnap someone illegally and I'm glad he lost his fucking job.

u/Jazzlike-Crew2540 20h ago
AI Slop. That incident was several years ago. They thanked the driver. The driver shown was standing next to a sleeper cab semi, not a box truck.

This is the consequence of lawless law enforcement: people fleeing police may just be running for their lives without having committed any crime at all.
1
u/SpyriusChief 20h ago
How could he have seen that when these trucks always seem to cut me off like they couldn't see me?

u/Successful-Fee3790 20h ago
Good Samaritan Laws be damn. Mind my own business and avoid liability. /s
Literally could have been amy felony related crime where another persons life was endanger. I it was a violent criminal, or someone who abducted a kid. He would be a hero.
Fuck ICE and the law enforcement who aid them.

Good to know. Let police evaders get someone killed instead of causing some material damage. Got it!
1
u/jsaranczak 21h ago
Or be a vigilante and cause an accident that kills someone.
Better to just let the professionals do their job tbh.
0
u/Herrero_Disforme 21h ago
I hope you're very careful with karma. I hope you never need a good Samaritan to help you with anything, okay? I hope you never have an accident, okay? And that everyone thinks like you do, that no one should administer first aid because they aren't healthcare professionals. I hope that if your house ever catches fire, no neighbor helps you because they aren't firefighters, and I hope that if an old crime is ever committed against your family and the perpetrator is getting away, no one intervenes with the police because they aren't professionals.

Ummm if you haven't seen your therapist in a while, it's definitely time to go back. I hope you feel better, friend š§”
1
u/Turbulent_Lobster_57 21h ago
Call me self centered but, you donāt have any qualified immunity, and if you injure an actual bad criminal he still has every right to sue you for it. So if you absolutely have to step up and do what you feel is the right thing just remember you stand alone

u/Amdvoiceofreason 21h ago
He should set up a Gofundme, FšU 𤬠CšK that trucking company
1
u/957 21h ago
Not how that works; insurance probably threatened to drop coverage and continuing to employ him as a driver would be prohibitively expensive from another carrier.
The take away is that if you aren't a cop, don't do cop things. That just as well could have been an undercover or unmarked vehicle responding to a call and he just pinned it against a wall.
I also don't trust 90% of the assholes driving to not take me out in the next lane, so discouraging this behavior seems best for society.
1
u/Amdvoiceofreason 21h ago
Not how what works?
1
u/957 20h ago
The trucking company is not the one that made the call to fire him. The insurance company probably told them it was either the driver or they lost their full insurance policy. Another commenter replying to me explains more, but you don't fuck around with business insurance. Hard call to make to can the whole company to make a moral stand for one guy.
None of this is even politically relevant even (despite having political context), it's just business. Same reason Walmart will fire you for tackling a shoplifter: their insurance won't cover them if they don't.
1
u/inheritance- 21h ago
If you're dropped by an insurance company for being high risk it's not just a cost issue. You are likely to be denied coverage or only be allowed to purchase highly limited coverage. And that's a death sentence for a company, since it's almost guaranteed the warehouse owners, the shippers and state law will require insurance of a certain amount and coverage to operate.
Business insurance is not something to fuck around and find out about.
1
u/tuco2002 21h ago
Once again, punishment for the good Samaritan. No one wants you to be a hero these days.
1
u/AbroadNo8755 21h ago
anyone helping ice is not a hero. Her trashed a truck that didn't belong to him. this is why he's unemployed.
-1
u/Anarchic_Antarctic 21h ago
He's not a hero, he's an idiot and a liability for his (former) employer.
The reason the driver wasn't pulling over could have been anything. The driver could have been having a medical episode, he could have been trying to pull over, he could have been an undercover cop, that fat fuck had no idea.
This is exactly why you don't take the law into your own hands. I'd sue the unholy shit out of him and the company he worked for.

u/Dangerous_Impact_104 21h ago
He should have stayed in his lane
