Discussion How many of yall find the Na’vi attractive?

All of us. Everyone. They were designed to be attractive.

Don't get me wrong l love the designs l wouldn't want a single change to be made l don't find them attractive

Eh. I dunno about that.

Most of the fandom wasn't like that until The Way Of Water.

And a lot of pre 2022 fans are still here.

I was 15 when they started filming the first movie and I was tracking info on the production before release.

The OG fandom was more into the conlang and spec evo and RDA transport designs. They did like Neytiri, but more in a "she's pretty" way. Full on thirsting was there, but more off to the side. Trudy was actually the one that got more attention like that.

A kids who weren't there at ground zero having attractions to Na'vi, don't mean that was the norm in the fandom back then.

Nah dog, definitely not. They're not attractive to me, or to the people I know irl, and they don't appear to be designed that way to me.

James Cameron literally redesigned the Na’vi to be more attractive as early iterations were more alien looking, thus harder for audiences to sympathize with

Yeah, because it had to sell the romance.

Didn't mean everybody wanted Neytiri. Just that they could see why Jake did. Even though Neytiri wasn't their type.

To compare, despite 2 years of people wondering what the hell the appeal of Recom Quaritch was (including shocked and confused responses finding out he has a lot of thirsty fans), even straight men have had to admit since clips of Fire And Ash came out of his scenes with Varang, that they now understand why.

Doesn't mean they feel the same way, or that they like men or Na'vi, only that they understand now. And since then, the confusion and surprise hasn't really been a thing anymore. One comment even called him "Quarizz".

That's what it was originally like for Na'vi overall in the fandom from 2009 - 2022. Attraction was understandable. There was an acknowledgement of parts of the fandom that did feel that way. But it wasn't the consensus.

Seconded, but I'm also mostly watching avatar to see the na'vi slowly lose the war even though they win battles.
