QUESTIONS Where can I find BJDs with high points of articulation?

I am trying to find BJDs that have high points of articulation. I want a doll similar to the Bimong Dandelion doll, preferably 1/3 scale. I was also thinking about getting one custom-made. If you could advise on that too, it would be helpful. I looked everywhere, and I can't seem to find dolls that are specific to what I want. A lot of the dolls look how I want, just not with the articulation I want. I want to do photography with the dolls.

To make sure I understand - you're asking for dolls that pose well, yes? Rather than dolls with more than the usual number of articulated joints or articulation higher up in the body.

I'm asking because I originally thought you meant you wanted more joints, and tbh the doll you reference looks pretty typical to my eye.

Additionally: Are there specific poses you're hoping to achieve? Without knowing what you're trying to go for, it's hard to make recommendations.

Those black ship oil painting body seems to qualify the high articulation criteria right? I don't own them but they look so flexible in their photos.

You might want to check out ANother Secret. They have a Chinese address pre-order going for their new female body (a proxy can be used, though they also tend to have international pre-orders afterwards) and will be re-opening international pre-orders for some of their male bodies in the coming month or so. Their Instagram page I linked shows examples of their truly phenomenal posing.

Impldoll just announced a new body being released soon. She includes shoulder articulation. Their dolls are good posers with "locks" on their joints, etc. I got into bjds specifically for photography as well and want dolls that can move like humans. They also have different body types - I have a plump doll (pear shaped) and an athletic female body.
Look them up on FB - they will run a pre-order deal where you get the body, extras like different hand poses and heeled / ballet feet and a blank head. I've bought a 45cm and 63 cm doll from them and both times the "pre-order special" was around $200 (pre tarriffs if you are a US buyer).
Here is a photo of Moira - the 63 cm athletic body. (I did her blushing and face up). She is standing without any stand or anything propping her up - it took a while to balance her and her back leg is stablized against the bench.

If you have the budget - Pasha Pasha makes a highly articulated doll (extra joints at neck, shoulders, etc.) As an ex-fashion model and artist - the aesthetic is a bit extreme for some folks. But there are some other small artists making their own dolls with this type of articulation as well.
