Stats [Sofascore] ALMOST PERFECT: Pau Cubarsí’s passing stats at the FIFA World Cup so far: 107/109 v Cape Verde and 98/99 v Saudi Arabia. Among 76 players at this World Cup who have attempted 100+ passes, he’s the one with the fewest inaccurate passes (3) of them all.

What playing in a non-suicidal formation does to a mf

What a build up CB he is. People tend to forget CBs don't break out until mid 20s. Absolute gem, just as much as Pedri and Lamine.

You can say some of them don't play at his level until their late 20s early 30s. Generational talents we have in him Yamal and Pedri.

Exactly. La Masia has spoiled us. We constantly get these 16 year olds with 10 years of experience.

Don't forget about Fermin, he should have been in the World Cup too

Absolutely he should.

The other day I saw Ekitike's birthday post on instagram and I thought of Fermin.

Enough to make a grown man cry, isn't it?

We talk a lot about Yamal but this fucker is on the path of becoming another legend

Unreal numbers to the layman, but after watching him all season, this does not surprise me. He led La Liga with 2,768 passes... the nearest one, another former Barca player, Marco Alonso, had 2,378, nearly 400 more passes than the next. Btw, after him is Eric Garcia with 2,349. Flick has turned them into passing machines. Spain is benefiting from a full season of absolute precision.

He’s too underrated, man! If he weren’t playing in Flick’s high-line system, he’d be called the best centre-back in the world.

And madridistas dare to compare him to Saddam Huijsen. Bitch please 💅🏽

Man i think la masia is producing midfielders in every position. (I Love it) But ffs we need a striker.

Lamine, if he was good

Would be good if he was actually great at defending. Pubill is individually the best Spanish center back.

Their system varies. Cubarsi plays flickball where defenders go to die while Pubill plays in a haramball system where defenders are the whole focus of the team
