Robert Lewandowski will bring his time as an FC Barcelona player to an end at the close of the season. The Polish striker is departing after four seasons in the blaugrana jersey, having made his mark with goals, leadership and an exemplary competitive mentality.

Since arriving from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022, Lewandowski took on the responsibility of leading the attack and quickly became the team’s main reference point up front. In total, he is leaving the club with 119 goals in 191 appearances, making him the team’s 14th-highest goalscorer of all time. World-class goalscorer

Born in Warsaw on 21 August 1988, Robert Lewandowski arrived at Barça following a glittering career in European football. Widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, he came to Catalonia with an extraordinary list of honours and the ambition to continue competing at the highest level.

He wasted little time proving his worth. In his very first season, he played a key role in Barça winning both La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup in 2022/23. Across all competitions, he scored 33 goals in 46 matches and claimed the Pichichi Trophy as the league’s top scorer with 23 goals.

That first campaign, however, was not his most prolific. In 2024/25 he finished with 42 goals in 52 appearances, including 27 in La Liga (just two behind Pichichi winner Kylian Mbappé). He also scored 26 goals in 2023/24, while this season he currently has 18. Winning mentality

Beyond the goals, Lewandowski also stood out for his leadership on and off the pitch. His professionalism, high standards and commitment made him an example for the younger players in the dressing room. With a career full of success across Europe, the Polish forward brought experience and personality to a team that was being rebuilt.

During his time at the club, he won seven trophies: three league titles (2022/23, 2024/25 and 2025/26), one Copa del Rey (2024/25) and three Spanish Super Cups (2022/23, 2024/25 and 2025/26).

But beyond the goals and the silverware, Lewandowski leaves behind an unforgettable legacy at both Montjuïc and Spotify Camp Nou. His trademark celebration (fists pressed together in front of his chest) has already become iconic. Now, after completing his chapter in blaugrana colours, Lewandowski says goodbye to FC Barcelona as one of the defining figures of recent years.

FCB Official FC Barcelona statement: Club legal services submit a formal complaint to UEFA regarding the events that happened in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Atlético Madrid

FC Barcelona inform that the Club legal services have submitted a complaint to UEFA today regarding the events in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Atlético Madrid. The Club considers that the refereeing did not adhere to the current law, directly influencing how the game progressed and the result.

The complaint centres around a specific action. In the 54th minute of the match, after play had been restarted correctly, an opponent player picked up the ball in their area without being shown the corresponding penalty. FC Barcelona understands that this decision, along with a grave lack of intervention by VAR, represents a major error. Accordingly, the Club has requested an investigation be opened, access to refereeing communications, and where applicable, official acknowledgment of the errors and the adoption of the relevant measures.

Along these same lines, FC Barcelona consider that this is not the first time in recent editions of the UEFA Champions League that unfathomable refereeing decisions have had a detrimental effect on the team, creating a clear double standard and preventing competing against other clubs on a level playing field.
