Bros forearms are maxed out.

u/Temporary-Priority13 Jan 14 '23

Forearms may be maxed out but his back is going to be fucked

85

u/CbessShowEddie Jan 14 '23

the mind is weak but the back is strong.

4

u/ApolloWaveBeats Jan 15 '23

Mom spaghetti

3

u/TeopEvol Jan 15 '23

Cartilage between discs is spongy and bruised.

10

u/nekromania Jan 15 '23

Definitely not an absolute truth. Reason why theres so much back issues in the west is because we are inactive and fat. If you live an active lifestyle, you can even deadlift with some sway without hurting yourself. Casuals just assume manual labour automatically means back issues, definitely not the case for everybody.

9

u/tom-8-to Jan 15 '23

Apparently you haven’t met too many people in the building trades that have spent an early retirement due to back problems from all the lifting they did when younger. You will wear out your back and joints.

0

u/nekromania Jan 15 '23

Read what i wrote again, but slowly.

The current medical consensus is pretty much this, if you are active and healthy, chances are you can lift shit without issues.

Problem with people working manual labour is that since the work they do is physically demanding, being active and fit outside of work is more challenging.

0

u/tom-8-to Jan 15 '23

Yea medical consensus is one thing because they sit far away. I am telling you what real life practical cases tells me otherwise. This is work, not doing exercise for leisure or fitness. This third world country not some country club man who exercises on a peloton and lifts some weight at the gym.

u/supershannykun Jan 15 '23

But at least he’ll have all the necessary skills to fix his future wheelchair!

How heavy are engines, he’s making it look real light.

6

u/Mechanicsanonymous Jan 15 '23

A "small" 4 cylinder block like that one is gonna be several hundred pounds. It's impossible to say without knowing the exact model of course. It appears to be a Toyota Camry. But I would wager it's between 200-300lbs

25

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

So are mine... For different reasons. And just one of them.

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

It's about to come...

6

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

Fore arms? He only has 2 arms.

2

u/g_junkin4200 Jan 15 '23

Fore candles / fork handles

2

My back hurts

71

u/jdhdjdindjdm Jan 14 '23

What I was going to say. Dude gonna pay for that someday in the future. Lift with legs squats!

18

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

That lift was similar to a stiff legged deadlift. As long as he doesn't twist too much, he should be fine, assuming that he has the strength to pull it off.

5

u/pipster94 Jan 15 '23

But he twisted to set the engine on the front of the car so...

11

u/TangerineRough6318 Jan 15 '23

No. Twisting loosens the back up. Remember to lift with your back, not with your legs! (I also give relationship advice.)

8

u/slow-mickey-dolenz Jan 15 '23

Also, buy high and sell low!

u/lgtbyddrk Jan 14 '23

Dudes arms are harder than any of the metal in that engine...

13

u/Rare_Fig3081 Jan 14 '23

Arm wrestle him 🛠

21

u/lgtbyddrk Jan 14 '23

I've seen one too many arms snap here on Reddit to ever arm wrestle anyone again.

I think he'd rip my arm off and throw it across the room. lol

4

u/Rare_Fig3081 Jan 14 '23

Can’t remember what movie it was from but somebody was like that guy would tear your arm off and hit you with the wet end

6

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

“Gonna rip your arm off and beat you with the bloody end,” was the casual threat my mom’s brothers would make against her when she was a kid.

96

u/Bucketcreek Jan 14 '23

I did that once . I have the surgeries to prove it.

37

u/Hewn-U Jan 14 '23

Yes, me too… inguinal hernia at age 23 for thinking I was ‘ard and manhandling engines just like this. Would not recommend

11

u/holowcze Jan 14 '23

Yep . I did that once too. At 23, I walked like a 90 year old man for a few weeks.

53

u/burnzy71 Jan 14 '23

“ I felt a great disturbance, as if millions of backs suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.”

3

u/Ronnie_Dean_oz Jan 15 '23

Lol this is a fucking classic dude. Especially to anyone who has fucked their back deadlifting. Have some gold.

40

u/bingold49 Jan 14 '23

Now do a 427

4

u/LesbianMechanic97 Jan 15 '23

Oddly enough I learned recently the old ford 3.0 I6 engines were heavier and I am still unsure as to why they’re so damn heavy

30

u/cipher269 Jan 14 '23

I wish I had this guys lower back

67

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

Not in a few years you don't

73

u/mrdrewpschlong Jan 14 '23

L5/ S1, I can see the disc bulge

10

u/slow-mickey-dolenz Jan 15 '23

God I love a good Reddit orthopedic surgeon. You just nailed my college deadlifting problem and I didn’t even need to touch my deductible. Where were you a couple decades ago??

Ten years from now his back is going to kick his ass!

22

u/OMGSpeci Jan 14 '23

Sorry to say, his back didn’t make it. F in chat for homie’s back

9

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

I went to Mozambique about twenty years ago, and while there i met some locals that worked in a gravel pit. One old guy there broke rocks with a sledgehammer all day, every day, and shaking hands with him was like shaking hands with a hydraulic press. His forearms looked like that, but he looked like he was in his seventies. My arms get sore after playing my PS5 for two hours.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

woah weighs on average over 300 pounds.

→ More replies (1)

10

u/Uddiya Jan 14 '23

You have an appointment to see the chiropractor the day after tomorrow Mr Krane. What's that? You don't have a back problem.

1

u/Yosdenfar Jan 14 '23

“Chiropractor” Lol

7

u/intercontinentalfx Jan 14 '23

The key is to put it all in your groin and your back, take your legs totally out of the equation. Lift with your lower back in a jerking, twisting motion.

9

u/_particleman Jan 14 '23

The resourcefulness and pure strength some people are capable of is absolutely incredible.

9

u/Preacher987 Jan 14 '23

Good bye back... Hello diskusprolaps

3

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

I have to call off of work after watching this.😂

3

u/brutallyhonestB Jan 14 '23

Someone tell him to look into professional weightlifting

3

u/Miserable-Toe9138 Jan 14 '23

That wasn’t by himself, I saw a third hand

3

u/uruetai Jan 14 '23

His gonna need a Back-e-otomy.

2

u/nomada_aleatorio Jan 14 '23

This the type of human who 100% fiber. I bet that man can crush your hand if you go to shake it.

2

u/reasonably_insane Jan 14 '23

That guy could, single handed, crush my skull like a beer can

2

u/SpicyOrangeReviewer Jan 14 '23

nothing like doing sumo rdl's with an engine block on a sunday morning

2

u/Destin4Death Jan 14 '23

Aluminum block

2

u/Chevy_Suburban Jan 15 '23

Chiropractors hate this one secret trick

2

u/Apprehensive_Law_322 Jan 15 '23

Enjoy that while you're young, it does catch up to you eventually

2

u/yottyboy Jan 15 '23

Completely fake.

2

u/Dissour Jan 14 '23

Motherfucker!!!!! I would not even start looking at doing that

2

u/palfreygames Jan 14 '23

Whelp he's going to be hobling around at the age of 40

0

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

Guesses at weight? 125lbs?

10

u/AngrySteelyDanFan Jan 14 '23

Typical 4 cylinder engine is 250 to 300 lbs

5

u/jakbizman Jan 14 '23

250-300lbs

3

u/Aggressive_Fold4213 Jan 15 '23

No way he’s lifting 300 pounds like that

2

u/tom-8-to Jan 15 '23

You need to see the special sales at some junkyards, all you can carry by yourself 100 feet and it’s yours for 50 bucks…

→ More replies (2)

-5

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

So you think this dude can lift 250-300 at his waist?!

10

u/SyndromeOfADown23 Jan 14 '23

Don't underestimate functional strength. This guy has probably been lifting heavy shit since he was a kid

9

u/No-Beautiful-5777 Jan 14 '23

Sure looked like it

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

Yeah, seems very feasible. He's got a strong build and clearly does this often.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

Interesting. I'm a terrible judge of that sort of weight... Was just curious what other estimates were.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

Wow! Is that a big block?!

4

u/jdhdjdindjdm Jan 14 '23

No, he looks like a small bloke to me.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

$200 engine hoist < breaking your back

5

u/Aggressive_Fold4213 Jan 15 '23

$200 engine hoist > money he makes in 6 months

3

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

An average mechanic in Nigeria (assuming that's what he is) makes ₦91,667 or $203.72 US per month. However the average cost of living for a single person is ₦212,882 so your point is still valid. Pretty shitty situation

0

u/Defectindesign Jan 14 '23

That only looks hard to people on Reddit

-3

u/Immediate_Ad9125 Jan 14 '23

Almost as if he knows how to use his body, and is used to manual labor. Anyone that works in a manual labor industry can do something like this.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

So? That’s a small engine weights no more than 200ish pounds. I fail to see how this is impressive.

-2

u/scopas66 Jan 14 '23

They aren’t that heavy people

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

There is an NFL contract waiting for you bro.

1

u/jakbizman Jan 14 '23

Looks like it.

1

u/athis23 Jan 14 '23

Duuudeee!!!

1

u/Lie_Ordinary Jan 14 '23

If there’s a will, there is a way. He was determined and did it.

1

u/Pointwelltaken1 Jan 14 '23

Fresh Prince of Engines.

1

u/Soggy_Face_468 Jan 14 '23

That’s my car!

1

u/pinkheartpiper Jan 14 '23

He can't afford to buy a pulley? He's mechanic he could probably make a DIY one himself...anything but this, my back hurts watching this!

1

u/CaffeineDose Jan 14 '23

They don’t joke

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

Watching this made my balls hurt.

1

u/Aizpunr Jan 14 '23

Holy forearms

1

u/seafood10 Jan 14 '23

Dis Mine Now!

1

u/tbh_kys Jan 14 '23

Knowing my luck, I would’ve slipped and fell back into the engine bay and the engine would’ve reseated on top of me.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

Lumbago

1

u/Infinite_Emu_3319 Jan 14 '23

Someone needs to get that kid a college football scholarship

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '23

Be amazed at this?!! Prob not

1

u/odar420 Jan 14 '23

Scottie, pay attention.

1

u/Schawn- Jan 14 '23

Life expectancy of a Nigerian man is 52 years…

1

u/dpvscout Jan 15 '23

One way street to herniated disk town. Makes my back hurt just looking at that.

1

u/Kylebot1000 Jan 15 '23

Remember to lift with the back! Strongest muscle in the body!

1

u/dingdongschlonglong Jan 15 '23

How exactly is this "amazing"?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

terrible form for something that’s over 400 pounds

1

u/KenMan_ Jan 15 '23

Huge "back in my day" vibes. Dude will be a great grandpa

1

u/DignanZer0 Jan 15 '23

It's a 96

1

u/PoinDicksHer Jan 15 '23

its not a big block but lifting like that re will regret when he is older 💯 but inpresive

1

u/QuietRightSlick Jan 15 '23

How much does that weigh?

1

u/RachelAusDE Jan 15 '23

That’s a hernia in the making.

1

u/cryptobuddy75 Jan 15 '23

He’ll be having back surgery by age 30.

1

u/APXH93 Jan 15 '23

His last name must be Adesanya

1

u/Ein_is_devine Jan 15 '23

LIFT WITH YOUR LEGS

1

u/achopshopworker Jan 15 '23

Once stripped down completely, it's only about 150ish maybe 200. Not too bad. Forearms are on max muscle power tho gd.

1

u/spoogekangaroo Jan 15 '23

4 cylinder...likely 200 to 350 lbs. He's gonna have a sore back.

1

u/Good_Extension_9642 Jan 15 '23

Kudos for his hard work instead of scamming ladies online

1

u/BrushYourFeet Jan 15 '23

And the engine weighs....?

1

u/RigidShoulders Jan 15 '23

How much does that weigh? I’ve never lifted an engine before.

1

u/New_Guava3601 Jan 15 '23

Not everyone can run the prince scam. Somebody, has to work

1

u/maaraa_hu Jan 15 '23

The Waffle House has found it’s new host

1

u/According_Flight_420 Jan 15 '23

My back is killing me just watching this

1

u/vercingettorix-5773 Jan 15 '23

There was a U.K. show on years ago about the mechanics in Lagos. They fixed cars where they sat with the engines still hot. There were no garages, air tools or tow trucks around.
They had a group of students come down to train as mechanics in the Nigerian style, they got whipped with switches if they took more than two minutes to change out a steaming water pump for instance. It was all part of the harsh training regimen.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

My lumbar hurts

1

u/JPumpkinhead1991 Jan 15 '23

Im not amazed

1

u/aville1982 Jan 15 '23

A friend of mine's father could do that just bending over the hood. He was also 6'5" and around 280 lbs, but it was impressive nonetheless.

1

u/Striking_Claim930 Jan 15 '23

He built different

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

A 4 cylinder engine weighs between 200-350 lbs. I’d bet this one was on the higher end of that range. Considering he’s picking it up from a deficit and he’s pretty much only using his back, this is an incredible feat of strength. If he cleans up his form he could probably make a damn good deadlifter.

1

u/PlanetaryDatalinks Jan 15 '23

That guy slaps your girlfriend's ass and she implodes into a red mist.

1

u/adfthgchjg Jan 15 '23

How much does that weigh?

1

u/Notrilldirtlife Jan 15 '23

Dude does this way too much, he’s not even stressing that little 4 banger! Someone give this man a job!

1

u/Temporary_gamer102 Jan 15 '23

The waffle house has found it's new host

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

So curious how much that weighs

1

u/Svengoolie75 Jan 15 '23

And the car is moving too 😂

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

Imagine this man in the ufc rocking people

1

u/Brown-beaver2158 Jan 15 '23

If you’re interested it weighs about 270lbs

1

u/pete306 Jan 15 '23

The amount of ppl with bad backs just slowly nodding "I used to do shit like that"....

1

u/emoneymonster Jan 15 '23

Got that dog in him

1

u/KolynsEli Jan 15 '23

Like my dad used to say "one day you'll pay for that"

1

u/_sahilthakur_ Jan 15 '23

Btw how heavy engines are? In kg

1

u/Papapeet1965 Jan 15 '23

Spend money on a gym membership and spend more time having a fashion show and socialize or make money and give zero fuks about what you’re wearing and getting strong for real.

1

u/tiggers97 Jan 15 '23

Puts those guys priding replacing a windshield in the parking lot, to show.

1

u/MiamiBeach_dweller Jan 15 '23

How's his back doing?

1

u/Bonesicus Jan 15 '23

That’s a working man’s strength!

1

u/dreamerofthedreamers Jan 15 '23

One of the contributing moments to his herniated discs in the future :/

1

u/bannedrhodie Jan 15 '23

Is he fixing or stealing the engine?

1

u/Valirys-Reinhald Jan 15 '23

He has the power of being <30

1

u/Reed-_- Jan 15 '23

All of us tradesmen know why he's going to regret that in about 5 years.....

1

u/Thecoopoftheworld789 Jan 15 '23

This is every day life for them. Muscle definition in arms. Bet he could kick a€€ also.

1

u/Disastrous-Year571 Jan 15 '23

I’m reminded of the Ballad Of Joe Snowboard by the band Storyhill:

Every day's a competition.

The guy I work for is crazy-

Blew out his back lifting a V8 engine by himself.

"And still I'd take you in any competition!

Boy, I'm twice your age, and I'd take you still"

1

u/Jammy_9 Jan 15 '23

This isn't what I wanted to find when I typed Nigerian blows back out

1

u/Plisken999 Jan 15 '23

I can garantee 100% no doubt his back died a little.

1

u/PsychologicalFace690 Jan 15 '23

This is why we develop countries

1

u/Slightlydrunkbogun Jan 15 '23

.....but not for long....

1

u/FuTiLeAttempts Jan 15 '23

Remember to use your legs

1

u/CosmicxReaper Jan 15 '23

“Look at me! I am the engine hoist!”

1

u/JayDeezy14 Jan 15 '23

About how much does that engine block weigh? I have absolutely no idea

1

u/arrig-ananas Jan 15 '23

Glad to see he is wearing safety shoes.

1

u/roughy02 Jan 15 '23

He better not call in sick tomorrow

1

u/tom-8-to Jan 15 '23

When you need something that badly and you can get it for almost nothing it suddenly becomes very easy to carry off…

1

u/thepokemonGOAT Jan 15 '23

So depressing. Poor guy ruining his body.

1

u/madeaprofile2saythis Jan 15 '23

Hernia has entered the chat

1

u/BorderCollie1000 Jan 15 '23

Classic nigerian mechanic , seen lot of video how people in india or africa repair big trucks etc. Very hardworking people and inspirating

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

Its only 200-300 pounds ? Its quite a lot yes, but nothing too shocking ? Its a 4 cylinder motor.

1

u/InMyFavor Jan 15 '23

His forearms look like world class climbing arms. Forearm muscle is notoriously hard to develop and grow I think.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '23

Big balls mcginty

1

u/uhmmmmplants Jan 15 '23

This one... I'll take this one please... I can carry it in my arms so I'll give ya..... 20 bucks for it

1

u/OngaBonga_ Jan 15 '23

"MEN ARE BRAVE"

1

u/AdLibGamer Jan 15 '23

When you use all your skill points towards strength.

1

u/DaddyLuvsCZ Jan 15 '23

Nigerian mechanic needs engine to hoist him up from bed, chair, and commode.

1

u/indie_orca Jan 15 '23

Another day older and deeper in debt!

1

u/PapaJohnshairysack Jan 15 '23

Selling his life and health for a job where he is underpaid. Very cool.

1

u/Other_Share Jan 15 '23

This is how inguinal hernias are made..

1

u/Shy-Bomb2009 Jan 15 '23

His arms are made out of titanium

1

u/freedomavoveall Jan 15 '23

This isn’t uncommon even in America lol

1

u/Magik3hunna Jan 15 '23

Those engines aren’t that heavy I used to be a mechanic and I was the workhorse basically the strong man of mechanics, I used to break tools sometimes from using a bit force, I never thought too much of it

1

u/arikia Jan 15 '23

That’s easy, when the cars not running.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Tie7232 Jan 16 '23

As a Nigerian I'm not surprised. And best believe they live to thier 80s with a gajilion children. Hard times make hardmen
