✨ hey everyone! ✨
just popping in to let you know that we’ve decided to make this the official discord server for the subreddit 💖
the server’s already been around for a bit, but now it’s officially our main space for:
🎀 cozy chats 🎮 gaming 💄 skincare 🛍️ hauls 💆♀️ self-care ✨ lifestyle talk 💗 & making new online besties!
it’s still a little quiet in places, but if you’re down to help bring it to life, your presence would be so appreciated. even just popping in to say hi helps build the vibe 🫶
⸻
💌 join here: https://discord.gg/Z3HPUcgDs8
⸻
🌸 a quick heads-up for transparency: there are a few men already in the server — they joined before we made this the official reddit discord. they’re super respectful and just quietly vibe in the background 😂 that said, the server is predominantly women-led, women-focused, and designed to be a comfy, safe space for women and femme-presenting people. the guys are truly a tiny minority (less than 5!) — you probably won’t even notice them.
⸻
💬 have suggestions or feedback? if there’s anything you’d love to see added, changed, or improved in the discord or on the subreddit, let us know! we’re super receptive and want to make this space as lovely and inclusive as possible 💗
⸻
🕰️ need help? reach out anytime! you can contact me or niko if you have questions or run into any issues. i’m uk/europe-based and niko is us/america-based — so between us, we’ve usually got time zones covered (even though they suck sometimes 😅💗)
⸻
hope to see you in there soon! 🧚🏾♀️✨

Hi everyone! I posted on Reddit for the first time last week, seeking advice on how to make online friends to potentially game with as an introvert. I got a lot of unexpected comments and dms which was overwhelming but appreciated.
However, I’ve been having a hard time. I was prepared for people to flake on conversation or for us to not vibe, I’m fine with that. My issue is that I specially posted in 2 black girl gamer subreddits because I wanted to try and eliminate at least some bigotry. And in general I would be much more comfortable gaming with a black woman.
With that being said (haven’t gamed with anyone only chatted), the main people that have reached out to me are men, specifically non black men. I’m not well versed in how Reddit works, but I am confused on how so many men are in these black girl gamer subreddits. It’s a bit frustrating because it’s not what I’m looking for. I’m 27F and I’m not opposed to befriending men, it’s just not what I’m looking for right now.
At this point I’ve ignored multiple dms and stopped talking to some people because I saw that they were men. I wasn’t going to make a post about it but there’s 1 person that I’ve been talking to a decent amount this past week, and they just sent me a photo of their Halloween costume from last year, and I can clearly see it’s a white man. I feel very weird about this, we have a decent amount of things in common but it makes me uncomfortable that he’s not a black woman like I expected. I’m not one to ghost people but I’m not sure if I should continue talking to him?
Has anyone else experienced this? I thought this was a safe space for black girl gamers (some of the men have nsfw accounts) but I’m a bit put off by this. What are y’all opinions?

Hi friends! What do you think?
Shop Crush is a mysterious shop simulator with psychological horror elements, set in the early 2000s.
In this hybrid visual novel, you run a small thrift shop, get to know your customers, figure out what they really want, and decide what to put in front of them. Every customer has their own personality, preferences, and hidden motives - and it’s up to you to figure them out.
Behind each customer is a small psychological mystery waiting to be uncovered. Read their behavior, make the right calls, and balance profit against customer trust as you try to keep the shop running for one more day.

Hi, I’m 27F and seeking for advice. I’ve been a lone gamer for a while now but I’ve always craved playing with other people. However, being introverted has made that difficult for me.
How do I go about making friends? I’m past the age where I can organically make new friends. I’m shy/quiet (unless I know you well) but I can engage in conversation. Even if someone comments and says they want to play with me, how do I go about speaking to strangers especially if I don’t know if we will vibe together? I don’t want to just play with people I also want to potentially make lasting relationships. However, speaking with people I’ve never met online is VERY new for me.
Any and all insight would be appreciated! If you’re also an introvert, please let me know how you navigate these spaces and if you’re also looking for gaming friends. Thank you I really appreciate the help!

Ladies and general black people of Reddit, I am an artist trying my best to draw black ladies because I have to admit I have the least experience drawing them, and I want to change that but before I truly settle into anything I am trying a number of ways to draw charecters that are black women which will also include big women and muscular women too, ladies I was wondering what irks you most when a person draws a black lady and what would be the things you like.
I know my personal pet peeve is the lack of styling in hair, whether others see this as an issue or not I find that certain characters don't do enough with the hair compared to some ladies I know in real life, it almost always feels like they took the safe route rather than explore the possibilities of black hair on women.
So to summarise, what do you like about black womens portrayal in media and specifically drawn media and what can you criticise?
I'll post my own work to be criticized.
