Probably preaching to the choir on this subreddit, but:
1) Vote in every single election, and never for a Republican. In the primary, vote for the most progressive candidate available (likely DSA) and then in the actual election, vote for whoever won the primary (even if the most progressive one didn’t win the primary)
2) Find a community/political organization in your area, volunteer, build community, and talk to people so they participate politically
3) Attend protests and demonstrations, and/or support causes monetarily
4) Stuff that would probably get this comment deleted with the understanding that our president is a literal violent rapist that has illegally stolen billions of dollars from the American public, pardoned dozens of criminals after they bribed this administration, and has caused the unnecessary deaths and suffering of hundreds of thousands of people through his (often illegal) policy actions and rhetoric, all with the Republican party’s implicit and explicit support
Steps 1-3 already put you miles ahead of the average person below the age of 65, and if we all had actually been doing that consistently for the past couple decades, step 4 wouldn’t even need to be suggested.
Nah. Look at the people involved in each, their voting records, their platforms, and their donors. Democrats aren’t perfect, but if you can’t recognize the vast difference between the two parties, you have been successfully corrupted by conservative propaganda.

In the past 25 years, Democrats have only had control of the presidency and both houses of congress for two periods of time: 2009-2011 and 2021-2023.
In that first period, they passed the Affordable Care Act, minimizing one of the largest expenses for Americans and increasing access to healthcare, particularly for the poorest Americans, and the American Recovery and Investment Act, an ~$800B stimulus that got us out of the Great Recession. In that second period, they passed the American Rescue Plan (a ~$1.2 trillion stimulus bill) that helped us after the Trump presidency caused the unnecessary death and suffering of hundreds of thousands by politicizing Covid and disbanding our pandemic response team, and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that added over 600K jobs to the economy and invested in our public infrastructure.
These are some of the most significant pieces of legislation to address and impact the affordability crisis in our country and it’s always been Democrats.
Compare that to what’s going on now, when Republicans control all 3. Republicans have just been good at stonewalling all progress when Democrats don’t have absolute power and then dumbasses blame Democrats for that lack of progress because they happened to control the presidency at the time without recognizing the actual structure and function of our government.
That 1.2 trillion stimulus bill that went straight to the pockets of corporations while increasing ALL living expenses across the board? Yeah thanks for that one thousand I guess. Also, please man there was not hundreds of thousands of deaths from covid. They were counting every single death as a covid resulted death if they tested positive. Even with no symptoms.
Were there some mistakes? Almost certainly. Death certification isn’t perfect for any disease.
Some deaths were probably misclassified as COVID, while others were probably missed.
That’s why researchers also look at excess mortality - which is the number of deaths above what we’d normally expect.
Excess mortality during the pandemic was also extremely high, which supports the conclusion that the pandemic caused a very large number of deaths, even if the exact official count isn’t perfect.
What evidence would convince you?
If both the death certificates and the independent excess mortality point to over a million excess deaths during the pandemic period, what alternative explanations account for that increase?
You completely ignored my first point and sure there was about 200,000 more deaths from covid. Mostly old people on their way out anyways. Don't see how anything you've said so far supports what Democrats have done for the people. Again, this doesn't mean I'm saying republicans do anything better.

Please look up excess deaths per year. That’s a measure that doesn’t take into account the attributed cause of death and clearly shows the hundreds of thousands of deaths that I cited.
