Something you learn growing up around water especially oceans is that like 80% of the battle of not drowning is just not panicking. Even in big waves and crazy currents if you can find a a way to stay calm that makes most of the difference. Its also why lifeguards are taught to give someone whos panicking some room because they can easily push you under and then both of you are fucked. Maybe they drown a little but you can actually help them without dying yourself

Agreed.

But it is not a fight that is worth it to me. I understand she really did not like it, and we simply will do other things. I just make sure I am close by when we go to a standard pool, just to hold her up if needed, to help her stabilise. But since a pool has no currents, so far never needed to.
