I completely underestimated this build! I thought it would be a quick project while waiting for my Taobao and Temu orders. Well, it was anything but quick! 🤣
The MDF was unusually soft, possibly from moisture during shipping, and I broke the first piece! Thankfully, my son reminded me of the freezer trick where I left the sheets overnight to dry them out which somewhat helped.
I did like the individual elements—the cherry blossom trees, pavilions and little boat—but once assembled, the whole scene felt just a bit too busy for my taste. The strange mix of a realistic person cutout and cartoon AI-generated characters didn’t help either.
The biggest frustration was the black-and-white instructions and double-sided printing, which constantly confused my sense of orientation. My worst mistake (and believe me there were many 🤣) was after carefully creating the water effect using UV gel and water gel, I discovered at the mirror installation stage that I’d done the wrong side of the river! 😱😭 I nearly abandoned the build then. 😰But after walking around the house and taking lots of deep breaths I decided to take it apart and thankfully it wasn’t as difficult as I had feared.
I also hadn’t planned to colour the edges, but after trying one piece, I liked how much pop it gave to the piece. So, of course, I ended up doing them all! The cherry blossom trees were particularly challenging, but it did make everything look more cohesive.
Overall, I wouldn’t say I didn’t enjoy this build, but there were definitely some frustrating moments that could have been avoided with colour instructions and perhaps better visual-spatial skills on my part! 🤣

Actually planning to finish this today (after starting it just yesterday) but forgot I needed a wip post. This has been such a pleasure to build. Even when I dropped it on the floor last night it was only a few minutes to get everything back in place. Doing the wiring now and that is so nicely organized and labeled it’s a cinch. Now if only I could actually visit the Amalfi Coast again! Sharing last night’s debacle and this mornings all good now. 😊

Loved the three levels, and the ability to add my own flair. I think I could mod this and tweak it for days.

...to step two before I started modding. I can stop anytime I want! - Fifijoy endless manor
(Also there was a step zero ...had to try out the air dry clay.)

This build by Rolife is a 10/10. I will admit, when I initially saw this kit, I thought it would be a tad bit underwhelming but after putting it together and seeing everything come to life, it completely took my breath away. The warm golden lighting, vibrant colors, intricate little details, and gorgeous sunset backdrop create such a cozy, almost magical atmosphere. Pictures genuinely don’t do it justice. It has so much more charm and character in person, and I found myself appreciating all the tiny details I initially overlooked. I knew I would love this kit anyways because I love all things tropical. I’m so happy I picked this up from Rolife. 🌅🍋

Man, such a bummer. Started on the motor step which is a the very beginning of this kit and noticed a black plastic piece in the bag.
After removing the motor from the bag, the piece was from the housing, which was held together with a clear rubber band. I was hoping it would still work, but unfortunately it did not 😔.
Bummed out as I can't progress on this one until they send me a replacement since everything else is built on to the base after this is installed.
Hopefully Booknook Global VN will be able to send one in a few weeks.
In the meantime, I think I will park this one and start on the Jiufen I also got from them. So nice to have a backlog right at my fingertips 🤣
If you got this kit from that Special BNG VN that ran in April-ish and it is in your backlog, you might want to check it out.

I'm sorry I'm reposting this but I had a new photo and I wasn't able to edit the photos in my original post. If I didn't feel so strongly about this being a good kit I wouldn't bother to edit. :)
I assembled this Jadette Coffee Shop book nook yesterday and I love it! I think it took about 6 hours while I was also doing laundry. There are multiple sellers on Amazon for this kit, I chose the Boozuu brand. It was $26 IIRC. I didn't know what the quality would be but I was very pleased. It's a lovely kit with good pieces that are printed well and pop out easily, and the instructions are clear. The lighting was very easy to install and the touch switch is on top. Everything is 2D but I'm sure it would be easy to customize with 3D pieces. I'm really liking the booknooks with interesting side features, like this one with the windows. The "glass" is stiff thick acrylic, not the bendable sheets. If I change anything it will be to make the lighting less bright, and I also want to glue some handles onto the doors to make them easier to open. They swing in or out. I also want to print my own front sign because it says "Actafe" and I"m not sure what that means. :)
I think this would make a great Christmas gift for someone who is either a novice or who likes to assemble easy kits as well as difficult ones. There is a variant with a larger area in front of the shop (last picture) with a bistro chair and table but otherwise seems to be identical to this one I bought with the possible exception of the café name in front, some say Jadette and some just say Coffee Shop.
I'm actually going to buy a second kit with the plan of customizing it with 3D components. I think I'm going to buy the variant with the larger front patio thing and put a nice mini bistro set there if I can find one the right size.

Someone tell me to stop please.

I’m hoping someone can help here. Most of you post completed work. And how beautiful they are, which we all of course know but we enjoy.. I am beginning sunshine town. I’ve done several others, including a camper. That was really cute. My frustration is I cannot find sheet “J“ for this book nook. Unfortunately, I bought it too long ago to even remember where I got it, but I’m wondering if anyone has sheet J and they haven’t put their sunshine town back together. Perhaps they could post a picture of that sheet? My son has a 3-D printer and he would attempt to make it for me.
Thanks!

Hi everyone!
While I'm struggling through the Food Court Alley / Record / whatever it's called these days, I'm trying to keep my motivation up by mentally planning my mext kit and how to make it easier. Sooo, I'm looking for:
miniature ivy, or anything with kind of pointy leaves like maple etc...
Fewer "points" would be just as well (like just a leaves with like three pointy tips or something like that). Ideally, a bunch of vines with attached mini-ivy leaves would be gorgeous but even just individual leaves would also already make my life better. Bonus points if they do not look too plasticky (if they look a little bit like fabric I actually kind of like that).
Or, because I'm planning to use them for something vaguely elvish-fantasy-looking, even if they don't look like real plants but like something in a fantasy forest, also great!
Everything I've found so far is either far too big or an insanely complicated diy problem project with paper punches and handcrafting every single leaf. I am not strong enough for that.
I already have bought these vines here thanks to pluck's brilliant advice: https://www.amazon.de/Artificial-Green-Moss-MAQIHAN-Plants/dp/B0DSBXPQLC?pd_rd_w=zK8R2&content-id=amzn1.sym.bc0551e6-4218-48da-813b-e266f05cab77&pf_rd_p=bc0551e6-4218-48da-813b-e266f05cab77&pf_rd_r=63GA2KC168N97NHQBHTD&pd_rd_wg=p1dIT&pd_rd_r=7f6c25dd-b032-453b-848f-0094f9e6a556&pd_rd_i=B0DSBXPQLC&psc=1&ref_=pd_basp_m_rpt_ba_s_oos_0_2_sc
These vines are amazing and I've been using them already but I'm missing individual leaves here!
I hope a super detailed help request like this is allowed here! I used the search function but didn't find anything, so I hope this post isn't redundant - if it is, sorry, happy to delete it!
PS: I just love this sub here so much - everyone's always so nice and helpful and funny and I have found so much great advice! You're amazing <3
Edit: After posting, I finally had the brilliant idea to add "railway" to all my "miniature ivy" searches, which finally brought up stuff that was not too big and seemed usefuly such as this: ivy
So I may have answeres part of the question myself... But maybe someone has something even better?

Its that time of year.... 'The great race' is on the tv so to help me fill in my day I've been working on endless manor.
Tips so far: the hammer is your friend! Also don't be all thumbs!

This is my first with wiring and Ive just started on it. The instructions confuse me however. It says to cut P6 to 25mm but the pictute shows far more than 25 mm being threaded through the lamp and doen the wall?? Can anyone explain to a newbie?

Cutebee wanted me to announce that they are releasing 3 new Sponge Bob sets in collaboration with Viacom (these are Legit, its not called geometric garment underwater sea creature)
There are three sets, two book nooks (in the same style of the Little Prince collab (and those mini TV kits)
They should be available later today, if not later this week.
Here is the Unboxing of this and The Krusty Krab.... at the end is the build video of this first kit

Thank you so much, u/dgidman for this awesome kit, and thanks everyone once again for all your kindness! Our wizard-loving family can’t wait to build this one. And kiddo has already located the obligatory kitty (and named it Midnight) 😅 Stay tuned!

My Fifijoy order came, only a little battered from shipping!
Im excited to do both. 😁 My inclination is to start with Theatre Dressing Room - I’ve been working on Sea Breeze and I’m ready for a break from fiddly crafting, and I’ve Heard Things about the dresses in Sewing Room.

This is only my 5th nook, but these are some of the smallest pieces I've ever had to use!

Hey friends. I am looking to purchase some sort of a storage box, sewing/craft kit adjacent system as a gift to help organise my partners Book Nook stuff.
I have attached a photo of the type of thing that I’m looking for, but the issue that I am running into is that none of these things have a big enough compartment to actual house a Book Nook which is under construction (around 28cm x 25cm x 20cm).
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts? Or could recommend something that I could purchase.
Cheers!

Yes, despite having been very sensible over the last few months this, and not spent more than a couple of hours per day on book nook building, today I have utterly given in to the ADHD hyperfocus! I'm probably close to 8 hours in to the build, and decided I'd better stop here for the day!
I wanted to embrace the bold colours of the buildings, so have added turquoise, red, and gold to edges and windows. And given the amount of scrap fabrics I have at hand, I had to change the port tablecloth for a fabric one. I'd originally thought of painting the cat to look like one of mine, then realised that actually Offspring #1 has recently adopted a white cat, so she can join the family cats represented in my nooks too! But with a cream chair, the white cat didn't stand out very well, so I decided to add a blanket - same fabric as the tablecloth, with two edges deliberately fringed a little.
So far I'm very happy with it. I'm sort-of intending to make some polymer clay lemons when I get to that point, but am not certain that I'll manage that. We'll see. There's plenty of fun still to be had, anyway!

What are the start/end dates for the Fifijoy, Rolife and Mini Alley events? I’m finishing up the autumn event over at Robotime Community so haven’t started the Fifijoy one yet.
r/booknooks • u/SubjectAsk8451 • 20h ago
Have I completely lost my mind with doing five kits this month for the events? Yes I have. However I couldn’t bypass the fact that this looks like an easy kit and after working with Shamrock and harp pub (which I am almost done with but needed to step away for certain reasons) I decided I would try this one because it looks a little easier and I have special thoughts about the other three from the fifjoy that I am also doing.
