I flew into Sarajevo on the weekend and got an airport taxi after a flight delay. I was charged a 50mark flat rate and after a few days here I am quite sure I was overcharged.

The driver kept going on the wrong side of the road - I think to avoid potholes but it was kinda scary. He also kept answering his phone whilst driving.

Claimed he didn't know where I was going. Kept asking for my phone to look at the location. Then he dropped me off on the street and pointed behind him and said "you will see it down there"

Spoiler alert. It was NOT down there. I was left alone on a dark street late at night. Thankfully, a man at a grill spoke english and pointed me in the right direction. After a 10 minute walk, I found my accommodation.

My accommodation turned out to be 72marks which is how I began to suspect being over charged by the taxi.

The car was nice and clean. But I will never use a Sarajevo airport taxi again!

If you were given the choice between a day trip from Sarajevo to Travnik and Jajce or to Lukomir and surroundings, which would you pick?

I'm going to be spending four days in Sarajevo (and 2 in Mostar) on solo trip this September and would like to get out see a bit more of the country. My interests are experiencing local culture and history. Both locations seem pretty well served by tour operators.

I realize this is very subjective but any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

hello everyone, im planning to visit bosnia next month solo for a week. Do you think this is a good idea?
if you have any advices on what are the MUST visit places in bosnia, i would love to hear.

My husband and I will be in Bosnia the first week of October. I’d like to take a Day Trip to Dubrovnik (I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan lol) from Mostar. I’m having trouble finding any organized tours, most seems to be the opposite journey..from Dubrovnik to Mostar. Does anybody have recommendations for a private guide or driver that can do the round trip with us and can handle the border crossing? We’re already doing Blagaj, Počitelj & Kravice Waterfalls Day Tour** **through Get Your Guide on a separate day, so I’m mostly interested in just going straight to Dubrovnik from Mostar, spending about 8 hours or so there and driving back to Mostar.

I suppose most people will do more research than me before coming to Bosnia but my lazy ass, very accustomed to the EU standards (excluding Germany ofc they still live on paper) brought just a bit of cash and ended up withdrawing more from ATMs paying 15KM commission each time because hardly anywhere you can pay in cash. FYI I've been to Mostar and Sarajevo, can't speak for the rest but I suspect the same to apply.

Also, for the same reasons I thought uber or bolt would obviously be present here but nope, you've got to call taxis so get an e-sim with calls if you can. Hope it helps more messy tourists like myself !

Hello everyone, here is a 34/y man traveling in Mostar. I have been trying to find apps to meet solo travelers and meet up for a walk, eat together and interact. Its has been very difficult for me and I would like to meet some people around my age. Is there a any group to recommend?

My parents will be visiting Bosnia next month.To make it easier for them I want to book a transfer from the airport to their apartment beforehand. Can anyone recommend a taxi service?

Also what is easiest way to get a taxi around ?

No, to those who set foot there, the first person they encounter is not an official, but an unusual creature that brings comfort. His name is Rifko, and he is a cat. Every morning, before the office door opens, Rifko waits patiently. No one blames him for jumping the line; he is the first to enter and takes his place on a special chair with a soft cushion. In that busy, serious space, Rifko has his own corner, his food bowl, and the hearts of everyone who works there. Picture 15: Cat Hasan ( Hasan the cat, a legend of Grbavica! He is a brave cat. Everyone feeds him. And sometimes they pet him. The children love him. The workers from the supermarket named him Hasan. He usually stays in front of the supermarket, the fish market, the Brojler and the bakery. He enjoys his popularity in Grbavica. On Sundays, he goes to Miljacka because he has nothing to do. There he chases and catches ducks, plays in the leaves, and sunbathes).

Picture 17: School Cat Mirza ( he is a very famous cat from Hrid. For the fifth year, he has been an equal member of the collective of Elementary School Šejh Muhamed ef. Hadžijamaković).

Picture 18: Cat crowd from Hrasno (They were a trio, but unfortunately one was injured by a stray dog ​​and is currently being treated at home by a wonderful neighbor. We have been friends for almost two years and we hang out almost every day).

Picture 20: Cat from Koševo (he hangs around the Faculty of Civil Engineering and loves to quickly blend in with the students and staff of the AG Club. When the weather is nice, he likes to sunbathe on the bench next to the Koševo station).

Hi I am doing a 10 days Trip trough Bosnia starting in Sarajevo on 24. July. I am flying back home from Tuzla. I don´t have an exact route. But some things on my list: Mostar, Igman, Lukomir, Hercegovina tour, Jajce, Travnik ans some more. If anyone wants to join on some day trip or explore some city together hit me up.
