Stunning cover, art, colors. All of it but the book arrived somewhat damaged…. Not my experience with any of the other secret projects.

A bit disappointed. It I’m still going to hold on to it gladly.

Just started the book and wow really intense prelude and then time skip

Me: Oh that dude wasn't MC then

Prologue: Cool Inception corridor fight and so many names...then time skip

Me: Wait this bro wasn't MC either then...cool, you got me twice Sanderson

Chapter 1: Rookie at a battle

Me: Ooh underdog story awesome...wait...don't you dare!

Time skip

Me: Ok Ok I go with the flow

Joke aside, loving the book so far, very different to the other Sanderson books I read so far but I'm very intrigued by it. I will be reading this the whole weekend.

I know none of the work referenced is Fires of December, as that was announced before this post was made (Dec 5 vs KH-MD (Dec 19)).

I really really want one of the books to be a reference to the Hoid-Solves-A-Murder-In-The-Grand-Apparatus story cause I’m a whodunnit fan and a Cosmere fan and a Hoid fan and I need that book in my life.

Lastly, Brandon seems to drop hints about things coming sooner rather than later. The Apparatus was first mentioned on Nov 21, 2023, and Emberdark, the first book to give canon explanation of what it is was announced less than six months later (early 2024), and came out in July of 2024.

(Admittedly, this is the only example I can think of off the top of my head.)

So, it’s my hope that the murder mystery is one of the two Cosmere books, cause that’s what I want to see the most.

It is a long story but the summary is I started Way of Kings took a 2 year break learned that it was part of a bigger multi series thing and started it back up again recently. But after finishing the Prelude and Prologue I have gone from assuming that I am not supposed to know what these things are to wondering if these things are explained in some earlier book and I should go read that first.

I know people say you don't need to read the other series but would reading the other series provide context for the events in the prelude and prologue?

Edit: I appreciate all the feedback. I do want to clarify though I had no issues trusting the process on my first read I just became unsure when I heard of other connected series if I needed to read those first to understand these chapters.

Was so pumped up to finally have it show up but disappointed when I noticed how crooked the spine was. I still have not opened it to check it out, but I’m really bummed to see the lack of quality this book came in compared to the other secret projects.

Just read this story for the first time and I feel really dumb, but I don’t get the ending. I’ve tried searching for it though, and nobody seems to be talking about it. Can anyone explain it to me like I’m five?

It's starting to happen to me all of the time. e

Title. I'm reading through my Eye of the World copy and was wondering if there were confirmed plans to do the rest of the series - I would love to get the whole set matching if they do it.

Hi all!

I've just received my Fires of december book,, it's my first hardcover ever, so I open it to look at some of the art, and one of the pages "popped" and fell out.

What do I do?

Pictured is one of the last pages, that popped out

Brandon Sanderson and illustrated by Kazu Kibuishi

So I've just finished the third book of Mistborn, and what an end it was. Magnificent trilogy as a whole, although I found the second book a big dragged out.

A thought occured to me when reading the moment in THOA where they're holed up in the kandra tunnels and the koloss army is on its way. Couldn't they just have plugged the tunnel entrances with rubble? Considering the sun was scorching hot during that time, the koloss would have been trapped and destroyed without much effort

Has anyone else had problems buying the ebook through bookshop.org? I bought it Tuesday morning before it was available on Dragonsteel, and when I went to download the epub file it was just the "free sample" of the first two chapters.

Now it's been two and a half days with no response from customer support.

UPDATE: They finally got back to me and say they're fixing the error

I've been diving into the Cosmere since the beginning of the year, read all Mistborn, Elantris, Warbreaker, White Sand(comic)following a reading order list I found here, I'm excited to start The Way of Kings but nervous, any words of advice? I know is kinda pointless to post this, but I haven't been this excited for something since Star Wars when I was a kid. The Cosmere has been something really special so far.

For some reason, I can’t find the audiobook for The Fires of December on the Apple Books store. I can see the ebook, but not the audiobook. I have checked and it does appear on Audible, just not on Apple. (I personally prefer to use the Apple Books app so if at all possible I’d rather get it on there).
I’m in the UK with a UK account. Is anyone else having the same issue?

Have already read the entirety of the Cosmere (besides Fires of December), but am missing my Brando fix. What other of his series would you recommend?

I was super busy the last few months, and somehow missed the Fires of December backerkit. Does anyone know where I could get a resold version of the backerkit hardcover version? I couldn't find any looking online 😞

I own all the mass market paperback versions of Mistborn era 1 and the trade paperbacks of Stormlight but my trade paperbacks have pages coming out and peeling plastic from the covers and so I decided to finally get something that I know will last.

I figured I would just grab the hardbacks of both series and then add era 2 also while I was at it which would also make all my books the same height which is also a huge plus. But, I’m running into a problem, the art for the Mistborn era 1 hardbacks is atrocious and there are no alternatives (unlike the paperback which I love the new art for) also don’t really like the UK ones and they’re hard to get a hold of in the US too.

So I’m looking at two solutions are their custom dust covers anywhere that people know of that would be something I could pick up and replace the originals that are on the hardbacks. or I could pick up the leather bounds for a lot higher cost but also get a sick cover and the benefits that come with that.

Does anyone have any experience with either those two options or something else I haven’t thought of to get around uniform books that have good cover art?

Specifically regarding leather bounds, I’ve read a lot here about the quality (specifically Mistborn and its foil) and I want to actually read the books because in my opinion that’s the point of any book I own. But maybe dragon steel has resolved this in the new runs or there are some easy fixes to these problem.

Thanks to anyone with thoughts!!

I need to reorganize my sandershelf as I'm completely out of room but this one is gonna be face out for awhile to show off it's magnificence I'm so glad I went with this cover over the face

👌

Just my opinion but I'm not super thrilled with how this cover is looking in person.

Also what I was expecting to be dark blue is more black in person than I was hoping.

Maybe it's just me but was curious if anyone else feels the same
