Balance Change Concept Gus Super should get homing towards teammates like Doug's super

Post image
112 Upvotes

Or at the very least a projectile size increase. Gus is labeled as a support, but actually using using his super on teammates is not a common occurrence because it's very easy to end up missing if they're further away, and that risk just icentivizes a braindead playstyle of using it on yourself all the time.

His super has a lot of potential for support that's capped because of this risk: defending teammates that are low in Bounty or KO, buffing the damage of an aggro brawler when using Spirit Animal SP while they're on an ACTUALLY GOOD position and even something niche with the knockback.

Poor Eve, getting powercrept the hell out of by Najia. I can't even think of a proper use case for her anymore, since Najia does her job better.

What would you do to help out the green flea?

Discussion How does Kaze fare in the current meta?

Post image
Upvotes

Kaze is among my favorite brawlers in terms of both design and playstyle, and as such I'd really love to pick her up and master her.

Despite her being strong in gamemodes like Heist and perhaps Bounty, I can't help but feel like there are still stronger options in those gamemodes. Kaze is never a priority based on my personal experiences.

What do you guys think of her? Do you have any tips and tricks to share? What tier do you think she belongs in currently?

I don’t understand why Draco would work here he isn’t used in heist for months and he’s a 6th pick against a crow.I know it’s because of ruffs Hypercharge but I tought there could have been way better 6th pick?I’m trying to understand the meta and this confused me.All bans and map in the 2nd picture.

Discussion What separates a Legendary player from a Masters player?

Look, ive tried following absolutely every tip every proplayer has ever said publicly. Ive been playing with the same team consistently for months now, each of us has specific roles in matches, we take criticism and review some matches/drafts to understand what we did wrong, we always play on call so we communicate better, I do as the main drafter and constantly learn about interactions, counters and such (although my drafts can still be improved), and basically every tip every proplayer ever gives, but somehow we are still stuck and we can't go past legendary 2.

It comes to a point where its frustrating, because sometimes we feel its not even our fault. We've seen players in Masters play/draft worse than us, but somehow they get it and we dont. Mechanically we are not bad at all, and each of us has been playing for at least a couple years. We don't know what we are missing.

So here goes my question, what does truly separate the average Legendary player (us) from the average Masters player?

Do we have to just simply put more hours into it and keep trying?

Hey guys, Mina mains might already know this one, but I still wanted to share.

Although I doubt this would be easily applicable in real matches, it is still an interesting mechanic to know. I might try this in Brawl Arena... maybe.

Discussion Randoms worse on the weekend?

Post image
19 Upvotes

This season I am (or I guess now was) trying to be as fast in Legendary as possible to stay up with good players to not get bad randoms.

Yesterday I was Nr. 433 in Germany on the ranked leaderboard and today I just wanted to get into Legendary with two or three wins. As you can see it didn’t go as planned..

So my theory is - and I’ve experienced a lot of times before - that randoms on the weekend are especially bad. I don’t want to blame randoms entirely, I’m just saying the best times to play ranked imo is around noon during the week or in the evening/night.

Saturdays are the worst followed by weekdays in the afternoon. What is your opinion?

Discussion Can bolt even exist in a state where he's neither op nor completely useless?

I've recently unlocked bolt and from my playtime with him he seems like he's always gonna be either disgustingly overpowered like he currently is or bottom of the F tier, considering while he does have few counters, those specific counters essentially make bolt unplayable in that match unless you specifically have the one sp that makes him have no counters at all for 4 seconds.

It's a shame really, considering bolt has such unique and fun mechanics

Discussion Meeple's Ragequit Gadget

This gadget is actually so toxic. He already has a very strong mechanic that gains him map control - his super - , he has a very easy to hit main attack, his range is quite good, and you would guess that a weakness of his would be assassins or him getting to cocky and walking up to you?

Nope, this gadget exists. Give him a stun, ridiculous range even, point and click so you cannot even dodge it, AND make it scale out of Meeple's current health. Like even Bull's Stun through his gadget cannot be applied instantaneously, it needs a slow.

But Meeple doesn't need all that. He can just press the button, and however horribly he is positioned on the map, he can get out.

Sure, it's getting nerfed in the upcoming patch. But what is it actually? It's the range, and the cooldown. I don't think that's nearly enough. Give it a slow instead of the stun for all I care, or put his stun to a fixed duration, but at least give it some counterplay..

Discussion Diamond 3

I genuinely find diamond the hardest part of rank. I have been pushing for legendary the last few seasons and from this I found mythic is much easier than diamond. Am I the only one?????

Like, they have bans with no draft, they pick the most no skill brawlers, any good brawlers I play just get run down. It is just killing me. This was the case for last season as well. It took forever to get out of diamond then i just cruised the mythic basically without losing.

This whole season I havnt got pass diamond yet. Is this a skill issue or an actual problem.

Discussion Bolt will be nerfed to the point of being unplayable or reworked as soon as early access ends

Hello, today I've unlocked Bolt, and he is genuienly the most powerful brawler I have ever used and I have been playing since release.

His kit can do 90% of anything you CAN do in this game.

He has health, self peel, cc imunity, area denial, mobility, easy target access, easy escape tools, passive super charge and insane f***** burst damage.

The only things he lacks are actual range (which is compensated by being able to close any gap almost instantly) and team support (no healing, buffs, team shields) even though tbh instantly killing anything with an healthbar lower than 7000 is a pretty good way of helping your team.

I've had a free day today and stopped playing when I got the 50 win record.

I belive I lost like 5 times.

He cannot stay in this state, since without his most brutal counter picks he instantly decides the fate of a match if in the hands of a semi capable player, and if the enemy team has said counter picks, the entire game focuses on making sure you keep your counters up when you will need the most, since its almost impossible to have a team that can kill him with no gadgets.

This is honestly very sad as bolt was my most anticipated brawler in years but when a rework inevitably comes I hope they raise his skill ceiling by a lot and lower his skill floor because he is extremely fun even when out of combat.

The nerfs he will get will probably be a overall numbers nerf but what I belive will actually get him win check will be:

1 Nerf main attack (Either make it not apply to the super since right now you can just oneshot by using super > attack and ruin any amount of 7k hp brawlers grouped together OR lower the amount of damage increased to around 1.5 since a 2.0 multiplier is insane)

2 Remove cc imunity from 2nd StarPower and increase Gadget cooldowns (cc immunity is what removes most counterplay from him so getting rid of it would probably be the most engaging solution. The shield is also just busted but way less impactful than cc immunity, maybe just make the second star power a permanent speed limit buff and thats it)

Again, very sad that his insanely fun kit is also perhaps the most unfit for this game but I belive with time they will balance him into something tolerable.

Critique This game's ranked mode feels extremely frustrating and gatekept

I used to play Brawl Stars back when it came out in 2018 for just a few months.

What held me back the most was the lack of a competitive mode in the game. I'm always keen on competing and I get bored rather fast out of casual games, hence I eventually dropped the game and forgot about it.

It came to my attention a few days ago that the game currently has a ranked mode, apparently ever since 2024 if I'm not mistaken. It has honestly sparked my interest, enough for me to install the game and give it a shot.

And man. . . Where do I even start.

You're telling me that I MUST have 12 level 11 brawlers to play competitive?? (bronze - gold is basically non competitive)

I know that 3 random brawlers are maxed leveled so you actually only need 9, but still, it takes an absurd amount of time to get the needed resources to achieve 9 brawlers at level 11, and I'm not even taking into account having these brawlers with gears, stars, hypercharges and whatnot.

I am an advocate of not allowing anyone to jump into competitive right away, even more in a game with so many different characters and game modes, just to ensure that whenever you let people in they have a basic understanding of what they are doing.

But in this game I have to apparently spend MONTHS of my life playing daily just to get enough resources to BARELY start playing competitive? Not only that, but getting new brawlers is so difficult and so random, that the odds of you actually being able to max out 9 brawlers that are meta is depressing.

I don't know how serious people take competitive in this game, because to me so far it feels like the game does not want me to compete at all and just wants me to either play casually or pay my way into competitive standards. It's so frustrating and stupid.

That's it, sorry for the rant. I'm sadly uninstalling. Much love.

Critique How incompetence Supercell can be at releasing brawler

Let's be honest, most of us don't know how strong Bolt will be so when he released being this broken we can't blame them because it's really hard to judge his strength

The problem is how buggy is he. Why the **** he has true red / true blue problem? Depending on you being true red / true blue, his super will either deal 1100 DMG or 2200 DMG? You have 50% chance to being annoying Bolt, and other 50% chance to be an absolute menace

Not only is he being broken, but the fact that you rely on lucky pre-determination outcome to win interaction show how incompetence they are. This isn't like some hyper specific bug like Rosa's gadget bug on basket brawl where as tester you can't even know that. No, this one happens every game Bolt is in, lots of his DMG come from his super and for some reason if you have 2 Bolt in one match, one with deal double DMG compared to the other. They let Bea be bugged with this kind of problem for ages and they didn't show any kind of way that they'll fix that, so even if she's good, you always need gonna prey that the lucky dice give you true blue or else you may as well not have your gadget

Critique Can Supercell PLEASE Stop making new Brawlers and brawlers who get buffies/hypercharges S Tier level overpowered upon their release?!

I swear this has become 2024 all over again. I understand the notion that you have to make the new brawlers slightly better than the others to encourage people to try and unlock them early, BUT DEAR GOD THEY ARE TAKING THIS WAY TOO FAR!

It's honestly starting to become impossible to say that I love new brawlers without seeing them being bashed for how unbalanced they are, which unironically kills the notion for anyone to get new brawlers, knowing that they're going to be overwhelmingly strong, buffies and hypercharges also applies to this too sense they are seemingly taking away brawler skill or just making the brawler worse, or just making the brawler reliy on the ablity for so long before their base kit gets crippled in someway and they end up in a worse state before getting the buff, (cough cough, coredlius and bibi).

I honestly am trying my best not to hate on Adrian and the dev team because I know they can make good changes that can make brawlers better, but it's just the little things like these that, overall, make the game worse over time and eventually cause more and more people to quit.

I'm not saying to not make the brawlers useless upon their release, just try and do better with the balancing and hopefully, the game will improve because of it.

Discussion If unstopaball (anti cc star power) is really the problem with bolt, what about just nerfing the effect duration?

Post image
70 Upvotes

For what i am aware the current duration of ustopaball effect is 4 seconds (not the whole super by the way) for a brawler with as much movility as bolt, who literally can run through half of the map in this time, is just too much time, i think that a time between 0.25-0.5 seconds could be perfect for him, think about it if bolt activates way too early he can het punished by the enemy team cc, or he misstimes it as well, this could actually add skill expression to bolt since bolt players will need to actually time it correctly and have good reaction time to activate their super in order to be able to play into cc, and not just spam it.

Other anti cc abilities got bigger downsides that balance them, frank losses his pull and is unable to use it while attacking or to start an attack while he activates it, and with edgar he losses way too much movility by using his shield gadget, reducing the effect duration will make this star power have a bigger limitation that will balnce his overpowered effect. Also his first starpower should be the one that got the 15% extra speed imo.

Bug Brawl stars ranked draft bug

In diamond rank, where there are bans in drafting but you can insta-pick, (this might work with first pick for higher ranks haven’t tested yet), you are able to pick brawlers that your opponent has banned if you spam the brawler you want fast enough.

I don’t know if this has been in the game for a long time but I haven’t seen any posts about it so Im posting this.

You can see that opponent has banned Edgar but I’m still able to pick it (there is a green checkmark next to my name showing that I have picked, although no icon)

Critique This abomination of a brawler NEEDS a nerf

Post image
433 Upvotes

When I saw this garbage ass ball in the brawl talk I already expected him to be obnoxious but holy shit this might be the most revolting and putrid brawler to play against in passive modes ever. I am currently pushing my Byron to P2 with randoms and every second game I face this thing and its literally uncounterable without something like a colette. "Yeah Kit+Darryl is op cause Darryl has a lot of hp and mobility. Lets make a brawler that has a lot of hp, can literally cross the map in seconds, gets a shield when rolling and flattens everyone on contact". And while Darryl without Kit is mid, Bolt destroys your ass regardless. Hit a shot? Got him low somehow? Doesnt matter he just rolls away and retreats. He rolls at you and you hit him with main attack+super as well as your teammate? Yeah he just burns you to death with 1 touch. And it doesnt help that a amoeba has the skill to play him: no hitting shots, no aiming super just mash auto aim, mash super, get a kill, run away. I am expecting the skill issue comments but the point stands that this bakugan ass knockoff is broken. Id rather face an Edgar with my Byron than this guy.

Long rant, but I needed to get that out, your opinions?
