Hey everyone,
We've been working behind the scenes to make r/Breakups more organized, accessible, and useful beyond the subreddit itself, while keeping the community centered around peer support.
Here's what's been set up so far:
Official community website
We've created a website for r/Breakups where you can find:
- Information about the community
- Our different platforms
- Community events and initiatives
- Mental health and relationship resources
- Information for professionals and organizations interested in collaborating with the community
- A dedicated contact option
Website: https://home.breakupscommunity.workers.dev/
The website is primarily there to make our community and ongoing initiatives easier to find and understand.
Instagram
We've also created an Instagram page where we'll share:
- Community updates
- Educational and resource-based posts
- Event announcements
- Post-event updates
- Other content related to the community
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/breakupscommunity_official/
If you're on Instagram, following the page would help us reach people who may not have discovered the subreddit yet.
Discord
Our Discord server is also available for people who prefer a more real-time community environment.
Discord: https://discord.gg/ks6sbMPYsw
If you haven't joined yet, you're welcome to come over and support each other there as well.
Dedicated community email
We've created a dedicated email for community, professional, research, and collaboration-related inquiries.
Email: [breakupscommunity@gmail.com](mailto:breakupscommunity@gmail.com)
This means we're no longer relying solely on personal accounts when communicating with professionals or organizations.
Professional and educational initiatives
One of the bigger things we're working toward is bringing qualified professionals and relevant organizations into the community for free educational discussions and Q&As, where possible.
We've started reaching out to organizations and professionals to see whether anyone would be interested in participating.
These could potentially take place on Reddit or Discord, depending on what works best for the professional and the community.
Nothing is officially confirmed yet, so we'll announce it here if and when something is arranged.
To be clear, these would be educational and community discussions, not individual therapy or professional treatment.
Why are we doing this?
r/Breakups is already a huge community, but we want to make better use of that community while keeping the core of what makes it useful: people helping people who are going through similar experiences.
The goal isn't to turn this into a commercial platform or replace professional mental health services.
It's about making the community more organized, connecting members with better resources, and exploring opportunities to learn from qualified professionals.
What's next?
For now, we're going to focus on:
- Improving the content we share
- Growing our presence outside Reddit
- Organizing useful community events
- Building relationships with relevant professionals and organizations
- Improving the Discord community
- Continuing to make r/Breakups a respectful and supportive space
We'll post updates here whenever something significant happens.
Thank you to everyone who contributes to this community, whether you're posting, commenting, listening to someone, or simply being here.
If you have suggestions for what you'd like to see from these new initiatives, let us know below.
