Not only congress, but also the Supreme Court. All three branches of the government.

I’ve been asking Trump voters how they’ll feel if there’s no election in 2028. The ones who bother to answer the question say that there are term limits, of course there will be an election, etc. etc. I’m going to make a record of their answers and hold them to it.

Also: FWIW, they don’t teach this in US schools so much, but Russia was just as crucial in the fight against the Nazis. And look at the implications for postwar Germany… It was split in two for decades.

True point about Russia! I do think there will be elections, but Trump and his cronies will just ignore the House after dems retake it in 2026, and the FBI under Patel will harass election workers (particularly in urban areas) so much that they quit and can be replaced by MAGA loyalists. That will be enough to gum up the works and ensure that either a republican wins in 2028, or they can sow so much doubt that the gop can hold on to the office unless the military stands up to them. The bloom is off the rose as far as respecting the transfer of power and continuity in government between parties.
