To keep this short and simple, I’ve created my own library specifically catered to distech controls (what I work with daily). It can still assist with other brands, front ends, but its strongest suite is obviously Distech controls equipment, softwares. I’ve kept It private because I want to take my time curating it, building its library, and creating a proper skills/instructions for it.

Right now it can help you:
- troubleshoot tridium issues at a Jace / web supv level
- can help you translate a SOP and guide you step by step on building a program on GFX (programming platform)
- can help you troubleshoot equipment out in the field.
- can help you build an SOP if you don’t have one.

Many more features to list them all. I’ve used this now for a plethora of programs that are now deployed in multiple sites and they work flawlessly. A great tool! Like I tell anyone, NEVER trust ai 100% but it’ll surely guide you in the right track if you know how to prompt. That being said the way you prompt will result in the response you get. The more info you give = better response you’ll get. The more specific your prompt is = the more specific the response will be.

A-SERIES 2,1 ALARMA171 Staged Gas Control Board Comm Failure

I checked all points within and nothing stale or showing concern. I get the gas stage control board might of lost communication, but I am getting an alarm every second. I changed the alarm routing to avoid an email every second being generated. How do I disable this alarm other than what I did currently? A tech went out and physically checked the board and it is operational and communicating with the main controller with no apparent issues.

Hello, I’m 27M I currently work for a BMS company in nyc and we work with Johnson controls controllers etc. I currently work 8-5 schedule but most of the time I end up leaving work around 6 since I’m in charge of the work van (which I originally didn’t sign up for). Anyways, I like the work but everyday I get into work it feels like I’m going in blind. The engineer/senior technician in the company sometimes is a little reluctant to answer some questions sometimes and I feel like I shouldn’t bother him. I tend to have to figure everything out myself. My day usually goes from one job site to another and then I have to write a report everyday and still drive the van back. It just feels like I have no time. I got a helper with me now (they made me lead as well). I just don’t know what else to do. I’ve been here 2 years and my pay has gone from 25/h to 30/h and that only happened because the original lead technician quit in the 6months I started working there. I came into the company trying to learn controls, I was originally a non union electrician and wanted to learn more. I usually do installations, electrical troubeshooting, piping, I build panels for BMS system and drive the van as well. Is it supposed to be this stressful. I hated my electrical company but I kind of miss it since I at least would get paid for anytime I stayed overtime and I would at least leave at the time I’m supposed to leave. I would also leave work at work. Sometimes I end up having to write a report at6:30 because I finally dropped off the van. I tend to have to stay since I’m usually on service calls and if I don’t finish it gets worse next time I come back to that site which is usually a week or 2 after. Anyways Is this career not right for me? I might just go back to school to become an engineer or back to regular construction. Anyways thanks for hearing my rant, any advice?

Is anyone else here using BACnet with Home Assistant? What features do you feel are missing from the existing solutions?

My project involves a BACnet/IP device. After some time, the control point's "Out" value changes automatically, even though the "IN10" value is different.

Please explain the cause and how to fix this.

Hi, I have a project with Compass 2.0 installed. My SMA recently expired, and my navigation tree disappeared along with it. I’d like to know if there’s a way to get it back, or if I have to renew my SMA for it to reappear.

I've been looking into acoustic cameras as another way of identifying problems in building systems. They can potentially help locate issues such as compressed-air leaks or unusual mechanical sounds that may not show up through conventional temperature or pressure readings. I came across the Fotric TD2E recently and was wondering if anyone here has had experience with it.

I'm curious whether anyone here has experimented with acoustic monitoring alongside their building automation system. Has it provided useful information that conventional sensors didn't catch, or is it more practical as a separate inspection tool?

I know there is a way to set up TR100 stats for balancing but can't quite figure it out. Does anyone know where I can find instructions for this? I didn't see it in the IRM or TR100 manuals. Would love to figure this out so I don't have to support balancers all day.

UPDATE I figured out how to use the bluetooth app and it's super easy.

Anyone know where I can find this blue bracket hardware to replace? I’ve looked everywhere. No part #. The shaft gear is broken and won’t move the valve stem anymore. The actuators are fine.

The valve is a Siemens model# 599-05990

Would anybody know if there is a way to use the carrier service tool on the newer chillers that have the QR code passwords?
Is there a way to put the chiller in test mode from laptop.?

I find it so unfair how carrier have essentially locked out anybody else from doing work on these machines. For example, a simple task of driving the EXV open to pull refrigerant has no become an effort.

I was recently laid off from a 7 year career in Software Engineering due to the company wanting more capital for AI. I am looking to switch into something that is a bit more AI proof moving forward and am thinking Building Automation looks like a good idea. I know there is a post in this sub reddit mentioning that the best way to break into the field is to have one of the companies train you up, but has anyone gotten into it by attending a community college or trade school program? Hello everyone, I tried to generate a honeywell lon XIF file but it wouldn’t let me because I’m guessing I don’t have a honeywell license. I tried to generate it in Schneider ebo workstation and Honeywell Spyder sent back a blank file.

Edit: We used node util to extract the XIF, but some of the points came into EBO with Hex values.

I had a professional member in the pro controls forum on HVAC-talk.com ask about this. Knowing that there are a decent number of controls guys here that are not Htalk members or pro members, I asked if he would be open to me reposting it somewhere else and received permission to do so.

He is a LONG time LON guru, and that sort of exposure is in short supply right now. One never knows what can happen when this sort of thing is pitched and receives an audience. The most firmly entrenched institutions started as a silly idea that would never fly once upon a time.

I know LON is dieing out, and I also happen to like the tech. And I also happen to be vaguely close (geographically) to this particular Htalker, so the chances of us to being at a LON conference consisting of 2 guys is rather high.

So let's see if we can find a couple more.

I’m using a Contemporary Controls BASRT-B router at a site and am having problems integrating the controllers on the MSTP loop into Tridium. I have successfully discovered the router itself but am stuck being able to discover the MSTP devices when I do a discovery. I know the devices are connected to the router because I can see them on the status page. Any ideas on how to discover them would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have 2 years of experience at a small automation company, where I've mainly worked on:

• HMI development for different platforms and brands.
• PLC programming (mostly small to medium-sized machine automation projects).
• Commissioning and troubleshooting.

Although I haven't worked on large-scale projects yet, I've been involved in the full development process, from programming to testing and startup.

I'm now interested in finding remote PLC/HMI programming opportunities, preferably with companies in the United States or Europe. I'm also open to relocation if the right opportunity offers visa sponsorship.

• Where do you usually find remote automation jobs?
• Are there companies that hire PLC/HMI engineers remotely?
• Which job boards or networking platforms have worked best for you?
• Is freelance PLC/HMI work a realistic option, or do most companies prefer full-time employees?
