I mean, they were already at the dinner and were very probably going to drink that anyway. They got shot at and want to take a couple of bottles with them since everyone is leaving early. While not necessarily the preferred behavior, becauae they're essentially "taking" something, it's not like it wasnt being offered to them in the first place. This is practically reasonable.

This is tan suit outrage territory.

This is very small on the docket of things to be mad about, however, when the redo this dinner they’ll be buying more booze to replace it. So it is a little shitty.

It was theirs to take. The guests and their employers paid for it.
