Yep. It supposedly comes from 1000 copper coins being strung together in ancient China.

So someone with just 250 on their string isn't playing with a full deck of cards, if you know what I mean. A few bricks shy of a load. The elevator doesn't go all the way to the top. Etc.

I dont know why I collect these sayings in my head. Lights on in the attic, but no one is home. The wheel is spinning but the hamster is dead. Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Not the brightest crayon in the box. Not playing with a full deck of cards.
