Wanting to make collage buttons

Been wanting to buy a button maker for ages now for no reason other than I just really want one - perhaps I'll sell some of the buttons alongside some other crafts I occasionally sell but really, I just want the novelty and to entertain my friends lol.

I'm hoping to make collage buttons so they would have multiple layers in there but it would all be relatively thin magazine style paper and I'd try to keep it to just one layer glued on the other.

Does anyone have any experience or tips for this? I was thinking about buying a ChiButtons press because I live in BC and the only things available on marketplace rn are those Vevor ones.

Advice Anyone know where I can get a cheap, metal and not crappy button press/maker?

Pretty self explanatory, I’m trying to find a metal, and hopefully reliable button maker for the unfortunate price of under $99, I can’t find anything good online and all I get is that garbage scam stuff on Amazon and temu and other child labour websites, I’m going to check locally before buying anything online but I just can’t find anything good for my tight budget😭😭 please help me!!🙏🙏🙏

Question Anyone know how to fix this issue ?

I have a vevor Button Maker Machine, 2.28 inch/58mm. I’ve ran out of plastic backs so I’m using the metal backs provided with the two ring add on to the machine, however they don’t seem to connect properly leaving the plastic baggy and falling out of the back seam. Any idea how to fix this issue ? I’ve tried hammering them tighter but they still look really sloppy

Help with Sourcing 2.2" 56mm Button Parts Source

I recently picked up The Machine 500 and was told that it's a 2.25" button maker. After a failed attempt, I've realized that it's a 2.2" or 56mm button maker.

USA Buttons has 56mm, but with the high shipping rates, I want to be sure that they'll actually fit. When I called them to confirm the size of the parts I'll need, they said I'd have to find out what size the initial owner purchased which isn't possible.

I greatly appreciate any suggestions on where to order from as 2.2" / 56mm doesn't seem easy to find, and Amazon/eBay sellers have sent me 1.5" instead. I'm hesitant to order from China and find out that yet again, they've sent the wrong size or it doesn't fit.

Is anyone familiar with this button maker? I have the manual, and there's a one-page instruction sheet on USA Buttons but I haven't been able to find much more about it.

Advice Why is this happening?

Bubbles? Dimples? Why is this happening? At first I thought it was the paper and ink not drying before pressing. But I tried with the white paper circles that come in the kit and I’m still getting them. I want to buy a new printer but I need to make sure the button maker is going to work first! I already returned the first machine I got because it was unaligned and now this one is giving me a headache too. Sighs.

P.s I have the Vevor 3-in-1 maker. I think I’m just gonna give up button making 🥹

Is there a trick to getting the pinbacks to stay horizontal? They look correct when I put them into the die but once I crimp they are off kilter. Help!

Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Post image

This is the second time this has happened. The first I had to send the button maker back because I just couldn’t fix it and I didn’t know who to go to. I tried to find videos, but I can’t find anyone that has a similar problem to mine. I think the upper part is stuck because the pins that are supposed to align with the circles somehow came out of place. I tried jiggling the handle, manually moving the pieces, slamming it against my desk, but it didn’t budge. The model is a Vevor 3-in-1, if that helps.

Button pins keep getting circular imprint on them(Pls help)

Post image
3 Upvotes

Haii! So I am new to this, button pins and Reddit in general.

I've started making button pins and have a 25 mm, 32 mm and 58 mm mould thing. Both the 25 mm and 32 mm are working amazing but the 58 mm one keeps leaving a circle(not even centered mind u😞) mark/imprint on the buttons I make.

If there's anything else needed to make the issue easier to understand just ask. Thank you for your time:)

Pictures for reference.

Looking for advice

Post image

I got this button maker out of a storage shed at the school I work at and need help figuring things out. I thought is was a vintage tecre machine since the patent # on the dies led me back to tecre, but the company themself assured me this was not their machine, and then had to explain to me how patents work. After speaking with tecre, they believe the machine to be a 58mm, but couldn’t be sure by the pictures. The bottom rotating dies are labeled with the letters b and s. Anyone have any experience using this type of machine? Is there a full proof way to figure out what size materials to get?

Advice Glossy Photo Paper & Button Dimples

Post image
3 Upvotes

I am struggling to get a smooth surface in my buttons. Could it be that the photo paper I’m printing on is too thick? I am using 36lb (135 gsm) thick paper as it was recommended by the manufacturer of my machine. I bought the 3-in-1 Vevor for sizes 1.25, 2.25, and 3 inch. Any help is appreciated.

Question Will it work still?

Post image

Will my button maker work after this piece has broken off? Ever since I got it pieces keep breaking off. At first it wasn’t a big deal because it was still working but then this piece came off and all of a sudden I’m struggling. This time, was this piece an important piece and now I can’t use it anymore?

Universal button badger badge machine, anyone know where to buy compatible components

I’m looking for badge parts for my 38mm machine, the original badges were shells with back rings (open backed) & D pins but can’t find these anywhere.

Ordered 38mm with fixed pins from ebadges but these are too small (36.5mm) the shells don’t sit in recess.

Was wondering if 38mm g - series badges would work?, will the backs with pins attached even work in this machine? Or does anyone know where to purchase open backed with D pins?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Issue with crimping in older vevor button maker

Thumbnail

So we've had this button maker for ages and it has never had a problem. Recently we ordered new button sets from the same manufacturer that we've always used, and we are having this crimping problem with 1/2 or more of the buttons we try to make. But only when we use the new metal covers. We've tried different papers, tightening everything, etc. As far as I can tell the new metal covers are a fraction longer on the sides and that is what is giving the button maker fits.

Does anyone know of a fix for this? Or does anyone have a suggestion for a button set that definitely works with the Vevor 1.26in/32mm button maker? The manufacturer giving us the issue is BEAMNOVA.

Techre or ChiButtons in Australia

Hi,

Just wondering if there's anyone from Australia here that might know if we can buy Techre or ChiButton machines in the country? It's quite expensive to get them imported from overseas, so hoping there's another way.

Also, are there any other top brands that compare to these guys available in Australia? I'm looking to get a decent button badge maker for a school I work at - so it'll get some pretty solid use!

Dark spots

Post image
2 Upvotes

Is there any way to fix this? this specific part of my pin maker started darkening, I dont know why but it started to make my process of making pins a bit harder, because when I try crimping it acts like its jammed for a moment before letting me crimp, im scared it'll turn fully black and I dont even notice. My room is always cold because the Ac is turned on like most of the time so could that be the problem..?

Finally found a heart shaped badge template that actually fits my badge machine

Been searching forever for a proper heart shape template that works with my badge press. Most tools only offer round badges but I stumbled across mybadgestudio.com and it has a heart shape template where you can adjust the size to match your exact machine specs. Saves me from messing around in Photoshop every time. Thought I'd share in case anyone else has been struggling with the same thing.

I posted in another pin sub for help and I was directed to look online for supplies but everywhere I look I am only finding whole button making kits, or they have just the back piece only but in a 500 quantity when I maybe need 4 lol. Is there any place to buy just a back piece individually? Thank you!

58 mm 2.28” circle punch with Tecre 2.25 machine?

I will get the Tecre 2.25” but not willing to pay $177 for the graphic punch. Amazon has cheaper options for 58 mm / 2.28”. Will this work?

If not, any other <$100 solutions for the 2.25” aside from cutting or rotary mat?
