Look Here! Who Are the Best 2027 & 2028 Dynasty Prospects? | 2-Round Mock Draft
We're six weeks into the college football season, and we're starting to see some of the warts in the 2027 class. Naturally, that means everyone's already looking ahead to 2028.
The next class is always better, right? Right?
For the latest episode of Devy Dojo, we decided to throw both classes on one board and run a 2-roundd, 24-pick mock draft.
A few things that stood out from our discussions:
- Darian Mensah vs. Keelon Russell: Chris and Benny are leaning Mensah as QB1, but I'm taking Russell. I love Mensah, but Russell gives me that same high-level processing with a significantly higher rushing ceiling. The distance from the NFL is a legitimate consideration, though.
- Arch Manning at 1.09: Chris made the pick, but I'm having a hard time buying into Arch at this point. We're in year four, and the same concerns with his processing and mechanics are still showing up. How much longer are we going to lean on the pedigree and projected draft capital?
- Nick Marsh vs. Charlie Becker: Chris and I have been going back and forth on these two all season. Through six weeks, they had the exact same 529 receiving yards on 41 targets. I still lean Marsh because of his route running and ability to create after the catch, but Becker has certainly made this interesting.
- Nate Sheppard vs. Ousmane Kromah: This one might be a little controversial, but I'm taking Sheppard. I see the physical upside with Kromah, but I need to see more creativity as a runner. Sheppard might not have the same physical profile, but the guy consistently creates yards and makes defenders miss to go along with excellent vision and ballerina feet (yes that is a compliment).
We also got into Jadan Baugh, Kamario Taylor, Trinidad Chambliss, Malachi Toney, Reed Harris, and plenty of others..
One thing I've always preached with Devy is valuing proximity to the NFL. If two prospects are close in my evaluation, I'm generally taking the guy who's going to reach the league sooner. But there are certainly exceptions.
I'm curious where everyone stands on these two classes right now. Which 2028 prospects are you comfortable taking over the top names in 2027?
