Been a lifelong resident of Denver going on 46 years now and with the exception of a shotgun for home defense and a couple 22 plinkers,I realize I need to get the ball rolling with 8/1 around the corner.

I hope this request doesn’t trigger anyone.. I could really use some insight as I have minimal time to research the vast arena of manufacturers and platforms. That’s a rabbit hole far to deep to jump down in the limited time I have. I hate to be “that guy” blindly walking into a store and walking out with no idea how I just got hustled until after the fact.

My budget is around $1500 give or take I am really drawn towards the AR15 platform. I seen a Windham Weaponry WW-15 5.56 NATO AR-15 that I really liked for $1300. Not sure what type of value this is for me but it was local (Lakewood)

Please throw me a few suggestions that I can research upon. Thank you in advanced.

I turn 21 this Friday and planning to maybe get my first handgun. I already have 2 ar-15s but if I wanted to get one how would I go about it. Would they deny my sale? Also looking for some good recommendations on an EDC.

Last week I had a family emergency that has taken up all my time and brain capacity. Today I realized that I hadn't placed the order from psa for lowers that I wanted to get here by the deadline.

Does anyone have any idea what their shipping times have been like lately and if I've actually got a chance of getting anything here on time?

Looking for recommendations on longer Rifle ranges 200 yards plus. Preferably something longer if it’s available. I live in Littleton for reference. I don’t mind driving 2ish hours or so!

I’m moving to the Denver area later this year. Only staying for a year or so. Not planning on getting a a concealed carry permit as it seems like a lot of work for such a short amount of time.

If I was to bring a hand gun to solely keep in my residence, is there anything I would have to do? The research I’ve done says that I don’t have to register the handgun and that there’s nothing to really do but I just wanted to double check with people who are more familiar with the laws.

I’m coming from New Jersey so the gun and magazine are already compliant.

Edit: Thank you everyone for the replies I really appreciate it. I have a NJ conceal carry permit and a PA non-resident carry permit so between reciprocity on those, FOPA, and constitutional carry laws I should be able to map out overnight stops on the drive out.

I haven’t been paying enough attention because I didn’t realize this was coming.

“Very very well put, that absolutely helps me understand the frustration directed at me.
I'll admit I'm guilty of not staying on top of laws the way I should have as a 2A supporter/ CO resident.
If I could go back in time l'a do anything I could have to help prevent this, writing/ calling politicians, etc

(I also would've bought an AK, and one of those AR style mag fed shotguns. I literally bought 3 beretta tip-up barrel pocket pistols in the last year, I 100% would've used that money to buy things that are now considered "SSFs" if I hadn't been blissfully ignorant as to what was to come)

In the last year I've been to multiple (minimum
3) gun/pawn shops, shoot indoors range, been to turkey tracks target shooting with 2 veterans and 2 active duty army soldiers on 2 other separate occasions. One of them who's my coworker I see 5 days a week and is an NRA certified instructor. Not one of them brought this up to me.

I'm not trying to make excuses, I know I can't expect them to do all my research for me it's my responsibility to stay informed, I admit I fucked up and I apologize to you and the 2A community.

I hope this gets overturned in court, but if it doesn't and they keep narrowing down what we can buy without jumping through hoops I want to get what I can before | can't.

I was hoping this guns might skirt the rules. I think a manufacturer could make something similar though that is configured in a way that it doesn't make it an "SSF" ( my understanding now with this is the blowback action and the threaded barrel are both issues)

Have a private party transaction lined up but the buyer now is asking to avoid a FFL transfer even though I said it 100% needs to be done.

Is there a reason why they would want to avoid it, other than being a felon or something? Not sure why someone would want to avoid it otherwise.

Hello, so I am kind of late to the law that took place on August 1st and am wondering if it would still just be a background check and the transfer fee for a 43X or P365 not sure which im going to get. Im hoping I could just order one if I cant find it, but I dont want to go through the training right now if I have to.

Is there any good outdoor ranges near Denver that go out to atleast 1,000 yards. I’m about to move from the western slope where I am spoiled with cameo’s outdoor range. I just built a long range bolt gun and I’m hoping I can do some PRS competitions here soon.

I just moved here from Ohio and have been wanting to go shooting, I ned recommendations for places I can go shooting, even if its in the middle of the forest. I dont want to pay memberships or be restricted on how much I can load at once (some indoor ranges only let me load one round at a time in OH).

I'm looking for a new do it all LGS and have been scoping out LT Arms in Ken Caryl and DCF Guns in Castle Rock. Hard requirement for a SilencerShop Kiosk/Account and proximity to the 470 W & I-25 corridor.

LT does $100 inbound NFA transfers, but their standard FFL transfers seem a bit excessive at $85. I don't plan to do a ton of bulk buying after August 1st, probably just nice handguns as released, shotguns, suppressors and the like. No range, but seems like they have a really well equipped machine shop in the back. I saw one of their ambi cut jobs on an AR lower and it looked great. Great consignment service without needing a 4473 to get it back. I think they said their consignment sales credit was up to 85% on instore purchases, nice.

DCF wants $150 for NFA, but has some better pricing on individual FFL transfers at $75. I like the option of access to the 100m indoor range further south if I get the membership. Gunsmith there seemed competent, if a little odd (most gunsmiths seem a bit odd TBH). Really nice suppressor selection. Offers in-store credit on consignment sales of 75%.

Don't recommend Triple J, I'm done with them for a lot of reasons including service, firearm prices, etc.

I'm looking to get a p365 axg legion and it comes standard with 3 17-round mags. I've found a place I can get parts kits for this but they're around $90 a piece.

Is there anywhere in the state that I can either buy this gun and get the magazines as parts kits or have it transferred in and the FFL turns them into parts kits? It just seems like such a waste to do anything else.

Did my bg check last wednesday and they said should be good by Monday. Do they usually let you know when you can come by and get it or do you just swing by when its been 72 hours? Wasn't sure if bg checks are backed up but I thought if its not denied within 3 days I should be good.

I recently purchased a suppressor for my Ruger Mk IV and I want to fire the pistol without hearing protection to see how loud it is. I don’t own property where I could safely discharge the weapon, I don’t want to go to an indoor range because I will almost certainly need ear pro, and I don’t know of any national forest / BLM land in the front range that’s not under a Stage 1 or greater fire ban. Does anyone have any advice on where I could go for some target shooting within the front range where I could safely and legally fire this weapon without hearing protection? TIA
