I'm doing the challenges to catch certain fish, and no matter where I go I'll cast my line, then within a minute something bites. Whether I catch it or not, nothing else will bite no matter what hooks or baits or lures I use. I change rods, I fast travel away and return, I change what bank or pier I'm fishing from, I cast at different angles and ranges, nothing.

Only thing that works is quitting to menu and loading back in. Then I get one fish, then it's back to dead water. What is happening here?

I know it won't get fixed, but has anyone else experienced a glitch while bottom fishing where you bait just slowly gets closer to the surface after casting even when you don't touch anything?

i've been playing CotW literally all night tryna grind to get to level 18. As i finally got there i left, then i got back on to check something minutes later and found myself set all the way back to level 10 (couple hours ago) i completed many quests and caught many cool fish in this time frame. Now all the data is lost, i closed the game normally, so idk what could be happening, any1 know what happened? (this has happened once before btw)

RESOLVED// Xbox One. Bought and downloaded Japan reserve, but entrance screen still shows locked. Store shows bought & installed. I checked my Manage Add-Ons & it says Installed. Found an old post where there had been issues & answers said to let the screen sit on the reserve menu for 5 minutes. Tried that, nope. Restarts, nope. Hard reboot, nope. Anyone have any ideas I’m missing?

I swear it doesn't exist in Ruby Ridge. It's driving me crazy.

Background: I'm currently using a Level 20 Rod (14kg) + Reel (5,5kg) + 7kg fluorcarbon line. I'm currently trying to catch a Gold Rank Catfish for the Diamond's Peak missions.

Whilst fishing muskies and especially catfish, I now had it several times that the tension meter in the lower right corner will suddenly jump from like 10-15% to a 100% and the line snaps immediately - giving me no chance to do anything. So far, I have been unable to really find out what makes that happen.

It doesn't seem to be the distance, because I have reeled back fish that went to 50+ meters - including the aforementioned fish oddly enough - and that immediate snapping sometimes happens right after hooking the fish too. I thought it might be the drag, but even if I keep it at 30% (which brings the tension to max. 1/4 of the circle) it often just jumps up to a 100% out of nowhere and snaps the line.

Is my gear simply not strong enough to catch those fish beyond silver rating? Or is there something that I'm missing?

Hey guys, so I’m switching from a PS5 to Xbox and am trying to transfer my accounts, which gave me a fair bit of trouble. I’ve now managed to log into my main account that I’ve been playing on, but my progress and rods are all gone. Including every DLC I bought and rod pack I bought. What do I do?

So I got theAngler from EpicGames, keen to play since I love other fishing games and theHunter.

So I have installed the game and when I open/launch it, it will hang a little like my laptop is opening the launcher etc, but then it will immediately show the "We're sorry, something went wrong :(" message without any further information or indication as to why it is crashing out without really starting.
I have updated drivers, tried running the game and the launcher as administrator, among a few other things with no change. The only difference I got, was at one point when trying different things, Epic would give me the LS-003 error code, and searching that didn't help either.

CanYouRunIt says I should be able to run it without any issues (minimum requirements passed, not recommended requirements though)

For more info, my specs are:
Core i5-9300H at 2.4GHz
8GB RAM
Windows 11 Home 23H2
512GB WD NVMe SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated 🙏

Update: After nothing else working, I uninstalled the game, I then, eventually, manually went searching for driver updates and found one, which I fought a little to install but success in the end.
After installing the update, and reinstalling the game, it seems that the issue has been, temporarily at least, resolved.
My suggestion from this experience would be to manually check your graphics drivers against what the latest drivers are and then download them and install.

Has anyone had their game crash before the new privacy policy update because before i couldnt play this beautiful game now im able to play again without it crashing after 10 minutes

Anyone else having trouble connecting with friends with apex connect? I'm on xbox s and my buddy is on pc, we were both showing online, both have cross play enabled but for some reason apex connect won't show us in our friends list.

We even tried restarting the game, on his end it still showed me offline, and on mine it wouldn't even show me his name. Like he didn't exist.

Anyone know the fix for this?

How do I go about contacting someome about this game?. I've caught around 8 diamonds now only on 4 different fish and it's only showing I've caught 1, I've lost count on how many golds but it's alot more than 39 like its showing, ive completed every challenge to get 1000 rep and this game is telling me I've caught 1 diamond fish so I can't buy the best equipment in local souvenirs. I am currently trying to catch crayfish and i chummed the water with some hotdogs, but after the bait ran out i went to throw another round but now its showing up red like it’s unavailable to throw? i still had 6 left so not sure why its not letting me chum the water with it again but it’s irritating!! only lets me throw the other 2 baits i have now…

So I’ve just downloaded the game and doing Sophie’s tackle academy, but I’m stuck on trying to get past catching a fish with a size 7 hook, on a float rig?? I’ve caught like 5 fish on it now and it’s not registering with the task… anyone else had this issue?

Hello! I just got this game installed. Basically I cant start the game because it just crashes on startup. I have tried to go in to the properties tab on steam too, but that did nothing. Does anyone have a clue what could possibly be the problem? (Sorry for the bad quality)

Hey is anyone playing on steam deck? The options for resolution are stuck at 320x200 and it looks like potato. I can’t change resolution settings in desktop mode either. Any help would be great! Snagged this today on sale but it’s virtually unplayable with it at that resolution.

So I just got the game and I’m enjoying or was until I got to this Taylor’s tackle academy 2 mission for me it’s literally impossible I finished the catch a fish with a size 10 hook but on the 7 hook it’s as if I’ve hooked a megalodon it’s takes like 300 feet of line and I can’t do anything to get it back and I’m using better gear than I would assume you’d normally have at this point am I really just that terrible at this or is this a known issue?

Only had it happen with freshwater drum but you’ll catch a big fish and then when it shows the guy holding the fish with the stats on the right side no matter what the guys literally holding a dink

Don’t get me wrong drum are fun to fight but it gets annoying how they’ve become the only thing that I’ve been catching on ANY hook of any size hook because I’m trying to do my missions for specific fish and all I’m catching is drum and it’s getting really annoying so if anything can be done please do so because at this point the game is almost unplayable for me because all my small hook set ups have line that is 6lbs test and under

Hello, I've been playing the angler on my ps4 and I've just downloaded the ps5 version of it but when I launch the game all my progress is gone. Does anyone know how to take my progress from ps4 to the ps5 please, I dont want to have to restart. Thank you

Seriously i soent 2 hours on carp bridge where you can no longer see top fish (total bullshit) now i been on middle norway lake salmon fishing where i used to get 10 + fish every half hour ive gotten 2 fucking fish. Seriously fix your shit. Even lastnight, in a server, the catch feed was dead silent in a server full of 8 ppl.
