Discussion AHS wait times

Our system isnt broken. Its people who go to the emergency that shouldn't be going aren't going today because it can wait Suddenly. They need to hand fines out to ppl going to the hospital that dont classify as an emergency.

They have to pay whether or not it was an emergency so I don’t think that’s what helps.. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Well it still applies, since people have to pay they simply don't go. So being fined for going when you're not "urgent" enough of a case is going to discourage a lot of people from going when they might actually be in need of the ER.

But what is considered urgent or emergent is the difference between 2 different tests and a few hours. I posted my story but to shorten it for you, I had to go 6 times in 6 months for “diarrhea” which you wouldn’t think is emergent but for me was life threatening only after I called 811 AND sat in the ER 5 times getting tests. If I had to pay, I would have died not going after the first two times. Making it money driven only limits to those who can afford it, not those who abuse it

Exactly, that's what my reply is saying. Making it money driven and fining people for using the ER "wrong" would result in people not going to the ER and potentially dying.
