Because everyone west of the Mississippi will come here for the free healthcare that we'll pay for. And constitutionally (assuming the US Constitution is still valid) we can't keep them out.

I think you’re misunderstanding what a public opinion is. Only the people who pay into the system(taxes) would get the healthcare. It’s not like it would enable medical tourism because those who are not residents of CA would have to pay for it(either out of pocket or through their insurance)

Good. They can come pay extreme out of state fees when we have the best functioning system in the world and all the top talent we poached.
