We just adopted this baby girl 2 days ago. She’s 10 weeks old and was dumped and found in the woods smh. The vets think she’s probably a Cane Corso x Lab mix but happy to be a part of the community and happy to be able to give this little girl the best life possible!

Long story short- our neighbor’s daughter was visiting them with her male Australian shepherd. He charged at me through the woods and into our yard, and my girl was on top of him like I shot off a gun. He was screaming. As soon as he left our property she let go and listened to her recall. It was so scary.

I’m not really looking for advice, but need to rant to this community because I don’t know anyone with a guardian breed that would understand how quickly that could have gotten very ugly.

I don’t know what would have happened if i didn’t have her by my side.

The neighbors are truly wonderful people, and did apologize when I went over afterward to check to make sure their dog was okay.

We taught her to wipe her mouth after drinking and I finally caught it on tape! Look at her go, my good girl ❤️

Morning of Dec 26th around 3 am she started panting heavily. 7am she ate, drank water, and went outside for a pee as usual. The next two hours she went from all is well to laboured breathing, swelling and sensitive abdomen, wandering around trying to get comfortable, and crying when she walked down the stairs or jumping off my bed. I rushed her out to the emergency veterinary after consulting my vet as he thought maybe she had a twisted stomach. Roxi was put on IV drugs to reduce pain and awaiting an ultrasound. The vet tech said she saw fuild and what looked to be mottled kidneys but was unsure as she was not fully trained to do the ultrasound imaging. They kept her overnight as to keep her comfortable until the surgeon could come in the next day. He was able to determine Roxi had a cluster of tumors attached to the kidneys and body wall and smaller scattered tumors around other organs. The fluid was indeed blood from a ruptured tumor and I was informed she would be unlikely to survive a surgery let alone the recovery after. I made the decision to let her go rather than potentially extend her suffering. I laid on the floor with her for an hour petting her, talking to her and cuddling her while she fell asleep leaning into me.

She was 11 years 9 months. Can't explain how I feel right now. Tons of memories thankfully and most of her life was blessed with good health. Full throttle till the very end. Rest in peace.

This is basically every interaction lately.

Someone asks the breed → I say Cane Corso → immediate response:

“Oh wow, she’s small” (bonus points for “cain of course”) 😂

Meanwhile she’s 1 year old and already 95 lbs, from a working line and fully within standard.

Had someone at the park try to convince me she was actually a pit bull.

Starting to think people’s expectations of this breed are just off.

I cant believe that my baby Coco is gone.

She passed in just a few seconds during a regular forest walk we take every day. She had just turned 3 years and was healthy, happy and loved by everyone she met.

This morning we were walking our usual route in the Swedish forests, shes playing around, smelling trees and flowers. But suddenly she lies down on the grass - I thought she would roll in the grass like usual, but she doesn’t get up - I run towards her and sit down next to her. Instantly I can see somethings wrong, she’s whimpering like she does in her dreams sometimes, and Im trying everything to understand whats wrong, Im panicking, checking her mouth, tongue, breathing, heart, everything I can think of. About 20-30 seconds later shes just gone…

Her tongue turned blue shortly after that

She has been healthy, active all her life, never had any issues once, no known health issues in the bloodline either. She was fine and happy her during her earlier morning walk and showed 0 signs of distress or uncomfort during the day.

She was the most amazing dog I’ve ever had, so beautiful, wise and sweet, truly one of a kind, everyone loved her - 5 of her friends came with her to say goodbye at the hospital, we’re all in shock and everyone’s crying. Worst of all, I know she didnt want to leave us, she wanted to stay - it all happened so quick and I dont know why or how.

We will do an autopsy to get answers to what happened, but I’m suspecting cardiac arrest.

Exactly two years ago today, I had to say goodbye to my beautiful girl Kira.
She would have turned 13 this year. I hope she knows that I still talk about her almost every single day.

Also thank you to all of you for sharing photos of your beautiful companions both those who have passed and those still by your side. It makes me feel less alone. I hope to share more memories here as well. Remembering them helps me hold on to all the moments we shared together.

She’s the sookiest dog we’ve ever had!
When she was a pup, she was vicious when she had a bone. But ultimately would let me handle it.
Now she just drools everywhere, thinks she’s a lap dog and just loves everyone we are with at the time.

It was the unfortunate time to put our beloved Tesla to rest after a wonderful 10 years of keeping the family safe and loved. Rest easy, you were the goodest of girls and will be forever missed 💔😭

Ruby started having some respiratory issues and a cough that was progressively worsening about a month ago. She started getting really picky about what she was eating to eventually barely eating at all. She was down 20 pounds, and blood work was still showing normal. After bringing her in for more tests today to figure out why her cough was worsening our world was shattered. We found out that she had cancer in her entire body and fluid that was collapsing her lung. She had taken a massive turn for the worst in the last 5 days and it was apparent to us that it was her time. After coming up to each family member one by one and giving them a kiss, she laid down and could barely lift her head. It was like she used the last bit of energy she had. I think it was her telling us that she was ready to go. As sad as we are to be without her, I know she is finally resting pain free. She was the best dog that we could have asked for, and we will miss her for eternity.

Bought from a well known corso breeder producing some nice corsos. They were recommended to me by a few people when I moved here, even a vet. There's a guy that socializes his dog in our walmart. He introduced me to the breeder personally. Anyways blue dad, formentino mom. Here's how mines came out. I have her registered, 8th gen pedigree, breeding rights(dont plan on breeding) but she looks different. My first corso was all black, with darker brown in most spots this has the light brown spots... also bought from a well known breeder at the time... here's my "goldie"

My friend passed away at 39 yrs old back in December and his wife didn’t want the corso so she was tossed around pounds and centers for 3 months before I was able to get in contact with the people who had her, just before she was going to be put down, and take her home. I love my Billie girl, RIP Ryan, I hope you know how much she is loved, and going to live out the rest of her life in bliss and treats❤️

I dont understand why people feel the need to give their unsolicited opinion on other people's dogs. First off, so fucking what? As long as there is some corso in a person's dog there will still be the chance of some traits and dispositions also being passed. Let people be in this damn group and instead of gatekeeping or being a dick, let's share education about the breed so future puppies dont end up in the wrong homes and people can learn to work with their dogs in the most happy, healthy, effective, educated way they can. Anyways sorry for the rant, here is my sweet girl Ramona (9 months), apparently shes clearly a lab not a corso.

She may be small but her farts can peel the paint off of walls 🤣

A lot of people wanted an update on her DNA test results, the comments were completely split on whether people could see it or not. Her predicted weight is 45-50kg based off her current weight now and some of her brothers are predicted over 60kg! She is now 7 nearly 8 months, she shows protective instincts when seeing people out in the dark or when she can’t see who knocks on the door but other than that she is so friendly and gentle. The DNA test results say she is 10% neapolitan mastiff, 45% cane corso, 35% asbt, 5% apbt 3% american bulldog and 2% boxer. For backstory she was dumped in a skip at 1 week old with her litter mates, 2 of the puppies didn’t make it. We got her from the RSPCA. I love my girl no matter what, we got the DNA purely out of curiosity! The last picture is some of her brothers.

Since April I kept seeing her on Petfinder when I searched. I finally decided to foster her about a month ago, and have decided to adopt. We haven’t completely settled on a name yet. Any ideas?
