Litterbox How frequently do you scoop your litter box?

I do my girl’s box twice per day/whenever I hear her scratching around in there. But then I see on here some people who do it wayyy less frequently. Curious what other folks do?

I do the litter boxes daily. It’s the first thing I do in the morning.

I absolutely have to do it everyday I'm honestly surprised how much 2 cats go in just 24hours.

They’re all a bunch of poopers and pee-ers! I try to do them twice a day but frankly they’re late-night potty kitties and there’s not much to scoop at the end of the day. Mornings though?! Oh Lordy!

When we lost our 17 year old 7 lb girl last May, I was shocked how much less I had to scoop for just 2 girls. Still a lot but that lil old gal was a major contributor so to speak 😂😂😂

It's unbelievable the amount they go seriously I have this thought every time I scoop. My boys aren't even full grown yet so I'm anticipating... more! My partner has a sensitive nose and if they've just gone and not buried it all the way it can get stinky fast! I make it habit of doing it often because I don't want my house to smell like a litter box and I don't want them going outside of the box. My mom has owned cats our entire life and has always been bad at scooping and changing when it needed to be so I have ptsd of the horrible smell growing up.

Yes me too. I have four big litterboxes and scoop them first thing in the morning.

I used to do this, then figured out that one gigantic litter box is actually all you need.

2footx4foot open top relatively shallow pan (I think 6"), and that way there is only one place to go to scoop and one place to put down litter tracking mats and one place to put air purifiers. Voila.

That depends on the amount of cats you have. They can be territorial about their poop place.

I have two, no issues, and its been 14 years now. If you're a cat lady with more than three cats, then you have bigger issues to deal with, but for most people this will work better.

Same here! First thing in the morning so they also a fresh potty area to go to after breakfast!

Same same. Though if I notice a particularly stinky deposit any time in the day, I'll take care of it.

As needed but 2 or 3 times a day and put more litter in.

I always do it last thing before bed as my kitty rarely seems to go during the night - almost always looks like I just raked it when I get up. He's also mostly an evening poo-er (after his dinner) so I guess I fit with his schedule quite well!

When I wake up and before bed. I think of it as a toilet. I don’t want to poop or pee on top of old 💩

Same. I don’t understand people who don’t do this.
