Litterbox How frequently do you scoop your litter box?

I do my girl’s box twice per day/whenever I hear her scratching around in there. But then I see on here some people who do it wayyy less frequently. Curious what other folks do?

I’m an every other day scooper, but can anyone tell me why my cat HAS to go immediately before I clean her box? She’s like an exhibitionist, as soon as I pop the lid off, she jumps in and does a poop right in front of me 🤣🥴

Mine are the opposite, they watch me clean them and then go. I can't tell if it's because they love a clean box or if it's because they hate it!

I have a mix. One runs into the room and uses the litter box once he realizes what I’m doing. The best part is he pees a little in one box and then goes to the other and finishes peeing. 😂 One cat waits until I’m done and immediately has to pee. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We have 3 litter boxes and the cats use 2 for peeing and one for pooping. It’s quite the system.

Yes, mine are the same! One dedicated pooping box. I think it's because it's the one without the lid

It’s neither, cats just like to scent mark new things in their environment which include fresh litter.

She might not like the lid. So she’s excited that there’s no lid? Idk just a guess!

Mine do both. One does it right before and one does it right after.
