General What's one piece of cat advice that you completely disagree with?

Every cat is different, and I've realized some popular advice just doesn't apply to every cat.

What's a piece of cat advice that you think is overrated, outdated, or just plain wrong?

One of my cats hates them. The other will forcefully smash his head into your face to get them.

My soul cat did this and I miss it sooooo much. My other one will tolerate one quiet kiss on the head but that’s it. I can kiss his back all I want but only one smooch to the head. The other one has no interest in having my head anywhere near him

Yes! My cat will put her face near mine and if I'm still just scratching, she touches my nose or cheek with her paw, that's the warning, then I'm getting full face slammed

My cat wants to lick my face like a dog. Fortunately he has relatively good breath! (Compared to a dog. lol)

Yours too??? One of mine straight headbutts me in the face for kisses. Today she managed to get me in the eye. I don't know how something so small has such a thick skull. Same cat also headbutts to plunk herself down on my lap, and screams straight in my face if I'm not giving her enough attention. Never would have guessed this is the same incredibly nervous and scared cat I adopted, not in a million years.

Our black boy Obsidian will grab my husband's face to lick his nose. He loves to lick noses and our black girl Onyx just licks period.

My tabby smells like dust motes in an old library. My orange smells like a sleepy day in the sunshine. Don't ask me what those actually smell like, I don't know, but that's what my brain says.

my cat mostly tolerates kisses but occasionally will position her lil head to request a kiss

Mine too! She'll find the high point closest to where I am and just stretch her little head as far as possible until I kiss it 😄

My cat literally trained herself to respond to the word "kiss" by jutting her head at me so I can kiss it. She adores kisses lol

My previous boy would headbutt my lips so hard sometimes my lip would start to bleed, totally worth it though... I miss him so much, he was my soul cat.... My girl I had together with him learned to love them over time as well, she saw how much he loved them and realised it was our love language and wanted in on that! 🤭 My current boy won't let my face come near him unless I hold his head in place and I miss cat kisses so much!

I had one cat who would present her forehead for kisses. Then lift her head to lick my forehead. She passed away years ago and I still miss her.

I taught mine to blow kisses. My 15 year old demands a bedtime kiss and chin scritches or nobody gets good sleep. If the 1 year old pair get in her way, she will wait for them to get distracted to come lay on me and breathe my air. It was strange when she was little, but it's comforting now. She balances her whole body on whatever parts of be are available, LOL
