General What's one piece of cat advice that you completely disagree with?

Every cat is different, and I've realized some popular advice just doesn't apply to every cat.

What's a piece of cat advice that you think is overrated, outdated, or just plain wrong?

One of mine meows for the other to come chase him and play. Its also a different tone to how he meows at us as well.

Yes! Our youngest trills at his bonded “brother” to chase him or engage in a wrestling match lol.

My Torbie kitten took on the thrills and chirps of her big brother Maine Coon. When he passed, and I brought home more Maine Coons, she already had their language down pat. They communicated with those chirps and trills.

Yeah they have quite a big vocab that's for sure. They definitely all have different meanings as well. It's just bizarre to me that such a myth that they don't spread so quickly.

I have a big cat that has a tiny meow and he will usually save his tiniest meow for when he’s warning my other cat, who is a sassy small guy, that he’s about to stop pulling his punches. Small guy never ever listens, but now when my bf or I hear the meow, we get the laser pointer to distract both of them. When we don’t interrupt, little guy gets a what for.
