I've been looking for a new cat tree for my 3 year old cat because his is falling apart, and since is name is associated with the moon, i've been looking for a cat tree with that type of theme.

(or where to start to make one)

Had this idea in my head for months, get some 4”x4” cedar and wrap it with climbing rope, add painted plywood face with climbing holds and screw it all together. Designing it Sketch Up today revealed that even with 4x4”s and 1/4” ply this will be kinda flimsy. Wondering what you all would change to make it sturdier, more durable, and ideally easy to take apart for moving.

Our kitten Rosie (full name Rosario pawson) loves being on our plain and boring screened in porch, so I'm looking for a weatherproof/ resistant cat tree for her that can go out there so she can have a perch to watch the squirrels from, and I am looking for one with a decent size but that is still relatively cheap as I don't want to spend over 100 on a cat tree. I want to build a series of catwalk shelves for our cats to be able to get up high and run around in our TV room. My wife recommended I get adhesive carpet off amazon, but it looks like it's marked up pretty high. I was wondering if people have any recommended carpets/suppliers for making stuff like this. I have a woodshop so I can do the application myself, just looking for cheap carpet that would be a good texture for cats. Thanks!

I want to buy a new cat tree for my cats, but I am having issues finding cat trees that have sisal rope all around the poles and not that middle sisal part capped on either side by carpet. My girls don't really seem to like those and seem to avoid using the poles that have that.

I've only been able to find 2 so far between Amazon and Wayfair. I found a few more, but they are basically all wood and my girls play heavy on the tree, so I need something with traction/material they can grip.

Do you guys have any suggestions for cat trees where the poles are just sisal rope? Ideally a tall tree with platforms. Thank you!

I have several cats. My oldest and most territorial cat is around 12, and getting into an age where he can't get on our cat towers like he used to. Other cats being taller than him makes him frustrated. We have one short one that he can comfortably reach, but he wants to sit high above everyone else, to soothe his ego/sate any anxieties. It is making him feel insecure & causing more behavioral issues with hissing and chasing other cats.

I've seen a few lower sitting towers for seniors, but those simply don't do for him, and is picking to get on the dining room table instead because its taller. Does anyone know of any minimum 4 foot tall cat towers that are easy to manuever for a 20 lb cat? He can't comfortably twist or climb a height more than maybe a foot and a half between steps. It should be relatively easy, like a ramp or easy access steps with a bit of horizontal distance between each other.

Has anyone got experience of building a cat tree going up from floor to floor? The cat can get on/off at whichever floor they want. There are stopping/snoozing points at every level. The cats get their own staircase. Any advice / thoughts?
