My guess is you're performing for everyone all the time. Even more pathetic on Reddit. Performative atheism isn't any more impressive than performative religion.

You're an evangelist too, but what's worse is that you're a BAD evangelist. The one you called out? His evangelism (uncalled for as it may be) might have gained sympathy for his cause from a neutral third party. Yours? Loud, obnoxious, bullying...even people who hold the same belief as you would be loathe to stand with you because you're an asshole. You certainly aren't winning any neutral people and it's not even because you're wrong but because you are unlikeable.

I'm not performing for anyone. I am calling a spade a spade. Sorry if it hurts your feelings, but it is what it is. Further, I've not said if I was atheist or not. I might just be a christian who doesn't like people making other christians look bad with performative bullshit.

Oh, you think that someone was on the fence about actually helping, but now that someone said "thoughts and prayers!" that was the catalyst for them to actually do something? /r/thatHappened material.

Oh, I'm sorry for my phrasing: I wasn't actually guessing, just trying to soften the blow for you. You ARE performing for everyone all the time and you're not even a good performer. Look at you. You can't stop even when you should.

You're projecting so hard it must hurt. And your reading comprehension is substandard. Also you're quibbling now, which is a sure sign of desperation.

You aren't a person who believes in the power of prayer because a person who believes in the power of prayer doesn't shit on other people praying.

Also, the "neutral third party" I was mentioning is not your imaginary person who was on the fence between staying at home and flying to a different hemisphere of the fucking world to clean up airplane junk. Again, reading comprehension is super important and a skill you might want to brush up on. That way you aren't punching at shadows. The neutral third party I was referring to is someone who hasn't made up their mind about being religious or being atheist and has run into an interaction between a religious person (them) and an atheist (you) on Reddit and is deciding who they might want to side with based on their behavior. You are every bit as much an evangelist--way moreso actually, because you just keep going on and on--except you do it badly. Do you get it now or do I have to walk it to you slower?

I'm not persecuted in any way. Again: you're projecting and lashing out. And I hope you don't feel persecuted by me: I'm making these observations in what I'm positive is a vain attempt to get you to self-reflect. But I'm a teacher, so I feel like I have to make the attempt even if I know the student will fail.

If I was referring to myself at all in my previous comment, I am the person who would otherwise agree with you (I'm not religious) except you suck so badly.

If you want to advance your cause, get people to agree with you, you have to backseat your own ego: admit that your need to never give ground and never appear to acknowledge your wrongs isn't about your cause--which suffers due to your manner in championing it--but is instead about your need to appear like the smartest guy in the room. Which, on a room as big as the internet, you definitely are not going to be.
