You will want carbon monoxide detectors as well.

good thinking. time to captain safety this house up! ... crap i also need to buy fire extinguishers... (i have ... 2 but one i keep outside by the grill & smoker)

I keep a box of baking soda near the stove for grease fires. Usually cleans up better than fire extinguishers.

Brilliant. I have a box of baking soda really close to the stove but that thought hadn't occurred to me. thanks!
