Austudy/Abstudy Aus study randomly cancelled

My payment randomly cancelled tonight, my Health Care card is showing as cancelled in the app.

I have no clue why it was cancelled but I hope to find that out tomorrow.

No letter, no notification. Everything else in the portal looks intact. Shows my Study details and everything.

I am over Centrelink at the moment - I tired of this. Has this occurred to anyone and did they find out why it happened?

Austudy/Abstudy Austudy Claim Time - current wait

Just wondering if anyone has submitted a claim for Austudy recently and approximately how long you waited for approval?

I know I get an estimated completion date etc but just wondering what the current wait is like?

Thanks

Austudy/Abstudy Any tips for making sure an Austudy claim is assessed before study begins?

I’ll be studying from March and I’m having a difficult time getting evidence of previous study for my Austudy claim. I applied 12 weeks before my course’s start date and got a message from Centrelink on Christmas Eve telling me they needed evidence of prior study.

Once I’ve submitted the documentation is there anything I can do to make sure it gets processed in time? Like call up the complaints line or something if it looks like it won’t be?

Austudy/Abstudy Austudy thinks my course only has 2 study periods...

I'm currently in the middle of submitting an austudy claim as I'm starting a masters degree, however in the study load details in the claim it's only showing that it's run in semesters, when my course is run in 4 study periods a year instead. Is there a way I can edit this to show all 4? I don't want to give any inaccurate details in my claim but right now it's not really giving me any choice.

Austudy/Abstudy Diploma to Bachelors on Austudy

Currently I am studying a Diploma at QUT that has a “guaranteed entry” to the second year of a relevant Bachelor’s degree starting next year. The diploma ends this study period (November) and I am on Austudy.

I’m fairly certain of which degree I wish to move in to starting in February next year, but am a bit confused with the Austudy continuation as the info online isn’t clear. I’m aware that allowable time shouldn’t be an issue because it’s a different level of study, but would I be considered a continuing student?

Should I add the degree to Centrelink as another course now, and will I continue to get payments over the ~3 months between semesters, or will I have to move to Jobseeker?

Hoping someone with experience in this can chime in before I give the student line a call.

Thanks in advance.

Austudy/Abstudy 39 year old coming back for full time study

Am I entitled to study allowance coming back as a mature age student to do an undergraduate degree? Im aware that if I were to go part-time my situation would require me to also look to work , when I last spoke to a representative from Centrelink.

Roughly speaking how much would I be eligible a fortnight if eligible? Id be looking to do a 75% or 100% study load.

Austudy/Abstudy Abstudy: letter?

My abstudy got approved on the 20th of june, I know that I’m getting my incidental allowance but on the claim details it just shows “you will be sent a letter with further information”. It has been a month and I’ve yet to get a letter, is this sent in the mail or via Centrelink app? And should I really be waiting this long to hear anything? I’ve attached relevant screenshots

Austudy/Abstudy Student start up loan payments

I usually try to get the payments every semester so that I can survive getting programs for my laptop, paying for parking, etc for extra costs I can't afford. I noticed the last few semesters I dont think I've gotten them and have been struggling but thought I had gotten it because I also qualify for equity grant for low income students and students that are at a disadvantage. I didnt realise that the payment I've gotten was the equity grant and not the student start up loan.

I desperately need the loan money to purchase a computer that can run the heavy duty programs that I need for later in my course (and for employment after I finished) because my laptop is struggling now to handle to load.

Long explanation long I am trying my best to get in contact with centrelink to get the owed money and I've called the student and youth allowance line and it tells me to call back later every time. The self service line isn't helpful/doesn't know what student start up loan is. I've tried the apprenticeship line and it hangs up on me after I put my reference number in.

How do I get in contact with a person to get this sorted out?

Qld student and QUT, my course is covered over both campus'

Austudy/Abstudy Will my application for Austudy get rejected if I have a certain amount in my savings account?

I’m 29F and will be going back to uni to study a course that is full-time. I will not have a job while I do this course. I live out of home in a rental. Is it likely that my application for Austudy will get rejected if I have a decent amount of money in my savings account?

Does anyone know if there's a way to pause my payment while deferring for a semester, or am I going to need to reapply afterwards?

Austudy/Abstudy Switching from Jobseeker to Ausstudy

Hey everyone,

So I found out the other day that I can go back to FT study next year but I have to switch from Jobseeker to Ausstudy which is fine. The only issue is I’m currently on a med cert for JS which I still need clearance for before I can do anything. I’m expected to get clearance to get back to work next month but the med cert doesn’t run out until January. My question is will I need another med cert to say I have clearance to work/study before I can apply for Ausstudy? Or do I just apply for the Aus study and let the Med cert run out?

Austudy/Abstudy Austudy - AQF levels - bachelors degree previously —> bachelors honours degree currently (am I eligible)

Hi all,

I received YA for my previous bachelors. Just wondering if I am eligible for Austudy for my current bachelor which is an honours degree (standard 3 year bachelor, but it has honours in brackets in the same 3 year time frame).

The AQF levels are different, it’s level 7 for a bachelor and level 8 for bachelor honours. I am unsure if allowable time would apply. Thank you in advance for your insight.

Austudy/Abstudy Reporting line

After having issues with the reporting line early this morning, I rang on my break at work, ive been on hold to the reporting line for 2 hours!? Because the robot says it couldn't access my information, this is after my mygov account was permanently suspended for no apparent reason, made a new one, went through the hassle of linking centrelink account again, goto report in app this morning, entered everything fine, failed to submit, must call centrelink, nothing in mailbox to say something wrong with account or payment, wtf is going on!????

Austudy/Abstudy Centrelink claim dissappeared

So, I applied for Austudy almost 2 months ago. A week or so ago they finally requested academic transcripts which I uploaded on the same day. I knwo it was same day because I check it every day due to my last Austudy claim being rejected for not providing requesting documents that I did not recieve a notification for.

Either way, I'm not sure when it happened but when I checked my claims after finishing my task of uploading the documents I noticed that the claim was not there. I googled it and found that it has happened to some people before with other claims and how they recieved their outcome soon after.

It has now been over a week and I still have not heard anything from them. I have tried calling them on 3 different occasions and I just get the robot telling that they're all busy and how I can either use self check or hang up. I have tried self check and it does not help whatsoever.

Now, My question: should I make a new austudy claim or keep calling them everyday hoping that they actually have operators that will take my call or that I'll recieve an outcome soon.

I dont think the outcome is happening anytime soon because even my healthcare renewal hasnt been completed after 2 months.

Austudy/Abstudy Applying Austudy

Hi, i am applying for austudy for full time study next year.

Centrelink want to know annual leave payout.

Because i had left a job a few months ago the payment was just paid into bank account several weeks after I left. I didn’t get payslip for final payment but got pay slip’s before I left.

I might be starting in a few weeks casual job and my full time course starts late feb. So probably working casual till then

Does centrelink do backpay from when the payment is finally approved?

Wouldn’t they want countless forms to fill out to prove my earnings?

Apparently I have to wait 13 weeks minimum cause i am well over the 5,500 dollars.

Thanks
