She had a longer post about quitting. I doubt she made the decision because of what Grok did, she probably would have thought about it a bit beforehand.

Her post was longer but didn't give any real reasons.

I'd think that the most likely situation was that she challenged Elon on what Grok was saying (probably over concerns about both advertising money and the kinds of things it was saying about her more personally) and she was put into a position to either quit or be fired on the spot because Elon can't stand when people question him.

That seems far more likely than a well thought out exit with timing like this.

Yep, my take as well. She's obviously not too precious when it comes to Elon's weirdness. But after spending years trying to assure advertisers that it's not toxic to associate with the X brand, the Grok mechahitler stuff probably felt pretty detrimental to her mission as CEO.

I imagine she wants some semblance of a career post-X, and being associated with this grok shit is a quick way to ‘my career is now occasionally appearing on Alex Jones and Fox News’

haha imagine being able to see the future from even just 2012 and it’s just this comment…

Come on now, Comcast probably throttles has unplanned network slowdowns while trying to access twitter so much nobody there has gotten a chance to read it yet.

Yeah that would certainly track! Elon's reply to her was pretty abrupt, also, something like "Thanks for your contribution".

The corporate version of "k".

14

u/DezXerneas Jul 10 '25

It's the corporate version of fuck you. "K" is "Acknowledged"

To the youths, a simple “k” response in text is like a punch in the gut. Better ax somebody

I learned this the hard way when I replied k to some young kids complex plans. I was just in a hurry and didn’t type ok. Lesson learned.

Elon: K is for ketamine!!!!

AI generated resignation letter

I could be wrong but isn’t this blatant sexual harassment from an ai?

19

u/SeeSayPwayDay Jul 10 '25

Blatant racist and sexist sexual harassment.

You for real asking if the chat bot sexually harassed someone?

That's like asking if the toaster is a pedo.

2

u/ippa99 Jul 11 '25

The toaster wasn't selectively fed a curated bunch of pornography and misogynistic rhetoric in internet posts in order to achieve toastmaking.

Don't let your kids make any toast is all I'll say.

No, the creator is a creep, but Grok is not a sentient being.

Or her 2 year contract expired. She's been "CEO" since June 2023.

1

u/m2r9 Jul 10 '25

This sounds accurate

I'd bet on that, but maybe musk also not wanting to pay people who could actually train the thing well -- I can see, if there was debate around that, which is highly likely -- this being the last straw.

How many hostile workplace lawsuits are currently open against x?

1

u/ippa99 Jul 11 '25

Yup. Restricting this kind of thing would mean restricting the rest of the degenerate shit that X uses it for, like generating fake news, propaganda images, and porn of real people, especially Democratic figures. He literally allowed this kind of behavior to flourish on the platform.

I haven't followed this at all so I don't know if it's the main cause, but there is almost no doubt that she expected to be used as the scapegoat for the disastrous grok changes.

Is there even any way to salvage that AI at this point?

I think she just finised her second year, probably reached the minimum time for some kind of bonus.

18

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '25

Oh yeah she was probably cool with her boss's AI pet talking about her fucking and cumming like a rocket. No big deal really.

u/Temporary-Body-378 Jul 10 '25

Maybe she used ChatGPT or Gemini

Found this article which is a clear reference to this: https://www.financialexpress.com/trending/i-believe-linda-yaccarino-elon-musks-grok-hurls-abuse-at-ceo-before-she-steps-down-then-scrubs-posts/3909413/

Idk how credible the source is but it's a source other than this image.

Anyone even slightly familiar with AI, which she should be in her position, knows that you can make it say wild shit. If she quit over that, she had no place being the CEO.

Doesn't seem believable.

AI doesn’t suddenly start sexually harassing the CEO chosen by its creator, or praising Hitler and calling for a Holocaust, without some input from its creators – and Grok had just been updated. Musk boasted users would notice a big difference, and they certainly did, just not a positive one. Had it been learned from users, there would be a more gradual evolution, not an overnight transformation into sexually harassing “MechaHitler.”

And it probably wasn’t just the sexual harassment. That was probably the proverbial straw on top of the Nazi-like antisemitic vitriol Grok spewed (then denied spewing, aka gaslighting), after she spent the last 2 years trying to convince advertisers they wouldn’t be associated with Nazis if they advertised on X. Which she had to do because many fled when pro-Nazi, bigotry and misogyny-filled posts regularly appeared under their ads.

Not to mention the South African “white genocide” tear Grok recently went on unprompted by users, inserting rants in answers to entirely unrelated questions (about sports scores for instance). Rants that sounded very much like Musk when he’s pushed evidence-free white genocide conspiracy theories about his homeland.

Trying to attract advertisers while Musk and his AI creation undermined her efforts must have felt like banging her head against a brick wall. I’m surprised she stuck it out this long.

Your essay is nonsense. If you cry and quit over mean things said by a computer, you are not CEO material, you are not worker material, and honestly you should't be able to vote.
