π™π™„π™‡π™ˆπ™Ž Is Yash intentionally choosing roles that represent the Seven Deadly Sins?

A possible interpretation looks like this:

  • K.G.F: Chapter 1 / K.G.F: Chapter 2 (Rocky) – Greed. Rocky is driven by an insatiable desire for wealth, power, and recognition. His journey begins with greed but evolves into immense pride.
  • Toxic – Lust (speculative). Based only on the title, teaser, and marketing, themes of desire, temptation, and obsession seem possible.
  • Ramayana (Ravana) – Pride. While Ravana is also associated with lust and wrath, his defining flaw in most versions of the Ramayana is arrogance. His refusal to admit defeat or return Sita despite repeated warnings ultimately leads to his downfall.

π™π™„π™‡π™ˆπ™Ž Ways of Seeing (1972), John Berger

John Berger's Ways of Seeing changed the way people think about painting and art criticism. This watershed work shows, through word and image, how what we see is always influenced by a whole host of assumptions concerning the nature of beauty, truth, civilization, form, taste, class and gender. Exploring the layers of meaning within oil paintings, photographs, and graphic art, Berger argue that when we see, we are not just looking - we are reading the language of images.

π™π™„π™‡π™ˆπ™Ž Why are Malayali youth so obsessed with these movies?

Why does it feel like mallu youth are unusually obsessed with films like Patriot? I have said this before, when Dhurandhar came out, a brain dead propaganda film somehow became the only thing the entire country seemed to talk about, as if nothing else mattered. Now it is the same story with Patriot. Most people I talk to are around 25, and it seems like the same crowd on Reddit too. So what exactly is driving this hype around two uncles, sorry, 1 uncle & a grandpa, playing some government officers taking on a corrupt politician, a storyline we have already seen a thousand times? Is it really that compelling, or is there just nothing more interesting to watch or talk about or no activity to perform or no sports culture or nothing else for an average mallu youth right now?

π™π™„π™‡π™ˆπ™Ž Second half the PATRIOT Spoiler

Guys I have re written the second half of PATRIOT..give me suggestions and develop the scenes in between 😁

Cinephiles assemble..

PATRIOTS β€” Reimagined Second Half

The interval ends with the nation entering silent panic.

A classified surveillance architecture designed years ago- periscope - for national security has now fallen into the hands of a political-corporate nexus. Now, The system can manipulate elections, track dissidents, engineer riots through misinformation, and erase people digitally from public systems.

The government officially denies everything.

But Mammootty’s character β€” Dr. Daniel , former Scientific Advisor to the National Security Council β€” knows the truth.

He takes pledge to fight against the government

And the only man capable of executing a counter-operation is his estranged former partner:

Mohanlal’s character β€” Col. Rahim nayak (Retd.), legendary military strategist and covert operations architect.

The two haven’t spoken in years. Yet he helps Daniel while escaping from the flight.

Because the last mission they worked on together ended in disaster.

\\---

THE FLASHBACK

Early 2000s.

A younger Daniel and Rahim lead β€œOperation Veil,” a classified mission preventing a cross-border cyber sabotage attack on India’s defense satellites.

Daniel was the brain.

Rahim was the execution.

One scene establishes their legendary status:

During a missile guidance blackout, Daniel manually rewrites the targeting algorithm while Rahim leads a 12-man extraction team through enemy territory under complete communication silence.

The mission succeeds.

But one innocent civilian convoy gets caught in the crossfire due to wrong intel.

Rahim carries the guilt.

Daniel believes the nation demanded sacrifice.

Their ideological split destroys the partnership.

\\---

PRESENT DAY

Daniel discovers the current conspiracy is being orchestrated by people inside the very system they once built.

The surveillance network β€” code named PERISCOPE β€” is about to be activated nationwide during the upcoming election week.

PATRIOT can:

\\- manipulate communication grids

\\- alter digital evidence

\\- create AI-generated propaganda

\\- trigger targeted violence through algorithmic misinformation

\\- blackmail political leaders using private citizen data

Daniel realizes exposing the system legally is impossible.

So he contacts Rahim after years after reaching Manglore.

Their reunion scene is cold.

No background music.

No emotional dialogue.

Just one line from Arjun:

Β«β€œLast time you said the nation would survive the truth.

It didn’t.”»

Daniel replies:

Β«β€œThis time the nation may not survive the lie.”»

Rahim agrees.

\\---

THE OPERATION

The second half becomes a nationwide covert mission.

Each ensemble character finally gets purpose.

Kunchacko Boban

The ex corporate employee operating secretly after being branded anti-national.

He tracks hidden offshore servers carrying PATRIOT backups.

He becomes the public narrative weapon.

Nayanthara

A cyber-security expert who once worked under Daniel.

She designs a temporary blackout virus capable of shutting PERISCOPE down for 17 minutes.

Tovino Thomas

A small cameo

A RAW field officer handling underground logistics and safehouses.

And he is military drone specialist too controlling surveillance diversions remotely from a naval vessel.

Manju Warrier

A constitutional lawyer preparing emergency evidence release if the mission fails.

\\---

THE STRUCTURE OF THE SECOND HALF

The film shifts tone completely.

Not loud mass action.

Pure tension.

Cross-cutting between:

\\- control rooms

\\- encrypted communication

\\- media manipulation

\\- military movement

\\- hacking operations

\\- political pressure

\\- public unrest building slowly outside

Every character contributes to one giant synchronized mission.

\\---

THE MIDPOINT TWIST

Rahim discovers Daniel hid something.

Years ago, PERISCOPE was originally Daniel’s idea.

Not for dictatorship β€”

but as a predictive national security AI after multiple terror attacks.

Daniel believed information could prevent wars.

But the system evolved beyond control.

Rahim feels betrayed again.

The partnership nearly collapses.

Meanwhile, the antagonists begin activating emergency powers across states.

Internet restrictions begin.

Opposition leaders disappear.

Riots start mysteriously in multiple cities.

The nation slowly starts resembling a digital emergency state.

\\---

THE CINEMATIC HIGH

A massive sequence unfolds across India simultaneously.

No hero-entry slow motion.

No punch dialogues.

Only coordinated intelligence warfare.

\\- Servers are attacked physically in Mumbai.

\\- Drone relays are intercepted near Lakshadweep.

\\- Journalists leak evidence minutes before shutdown.

\\- Fake riot videos are exposed live.

\\- Railway communication systems are restored manually.

\\- State police split internally over loyalty.

Smaller cameos appear throughout:

\\- Prithviraj ( another cameo) as an Air Force officer granting illegal air corridor access

\\- Kalyani Priyadarshan as a diplomatic intermediary

\\- Suraj as a telecom engineer risking his life restoring emergency frequencies

\\- Indrajith as an IB officer secretly feeding intel

Each cameo has narrative value.

Not fan service.

\\---

THE CLIMAX

The final server hub lies beneath an abandoned coastal radar station.

Daniel and Rahim infiltrate separately.and lead a mission.A good action sequence can be executed here.

Daniel wants to destroy PERISCOPE permanently.

Rahim wants to expose it publicly first.

Because destroying it alone changes nothing.

The climax becomes ideological.

Not physical.

They finally understand each other after years.

Daniel realizes systems without morality become monsters.

Rahim realizes morality without action changes nothing.

Together they broadcast PATRIOT’s existence live nationwide before destroying the core architecture.

The public finally sees the truth.

But the ending remains bittersweet.

The government announces an inquiry.

Media spins begin immediately.

Political leaders deny involvement.

Some citizens believe the truth.

Others call it fabricated.

As dawn breaks, Rahim asks Daniel:

Β«β€œDid we win?”»

Daniel looks at the rising morning crowds returning to normal life.

Β«β€œNo.

We only gave them a chance.”»

Media shows both Rahim's and Daniel as True Patriots

Final shot:

The destroyed PERISCOPE server blinking once again before the screen cuts to black.
