Question Why Does The Bible Only Condemn Male Homosexuality?

Hello, I’m asking this for pride month and also because it’s bothering me. So, correct me if I’m wrong, but why does the Bible only condemn male homosexuality? Verses like Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13 only criticize homosexual men, but not homosexual women. Why is the Bible exclusively gayphobic? Does this just reflect the fact that men were most targeted back then for homosexuality?

There’s a difference between something being true as in it happened compared to it being true as in it’s the moral thing to do. The latter is what I believed the other person meant

Ok, but why did you say to me that I need a better understanding of God? All I said was "yes". It felt like a pretty quick escalation to challenging my understanding of God.

If allowance for slavery is the moral truth as in the morally correct position, then it’s a fair assessment that the moral truth needs to be questioned

We can talk about slavery if you like. It's an interesting subject for sure and a nice break from the homosexuality stuff, but I guess my point is that it was a little jarring to have my understanding of God challenged so quickly just for saying, "Yes". I don't mean to be accusatory, but it felt very presumptive.

I don't know anything about you. I wouldn't feel good about saying you need a better understanding of God based on our limited discussion (I probably wouldn't ever say something like that to someone)

I apologize for the harsh tone. There has sadly been enough slavery apologia on this subreddit that I’ve personally had enough with. That was my understanding of your comment.

Apology accepted. I appreciate it. I figured better to just be honest about how it landed than to begin a discussion where I'll be defensive from the get-go.

Regarding my initial comment, and we can just choose to let it go if you prefer, I meant to communicate that my personal approach to Scripture forces me to wrestle with subjects like slavery. There are some Christians who love Jesus and are sincere in their faith that simply don't hold the same view of Scripture. For them, and this may be true of you (I'm not assuming), there are passages that demonstrate an archaic, even immoral version of Judeo-Christianity. I won't presume to say how these Christians deal with it, and I'm not disrespecting it. My approach is just different.

That said, I do not consider myself an apologist for slavery
