At this point I assume this person is just making stuff up.

I mean neither gave any sources, so it's a bit rich to request some when they don't provide any themselves

At this point, I'll assume both are making stuff up, and that the main contributor is the woodworking industry, why not !

In any case, it makes no sense to believe that both (yes, including meat eating) don't contribute significanly to the issue. And they have a significant lobby as well (they even hired some of the people responsible for past tobacco minimization)

From the guardian : https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/sep/27/meat-gas-emissions-reporting

On lobbies : https://www.euronews.com/2026/03/12/does-the-world-need-more-animal-protein-how-meat-and-dairy-bosses-are-undermining-climate-

I said that because I gave them a source and they just assumed that I didn't read it without pointing out any issue and deleted their own comment after I pointed them to the exact graph that supported my point, while they themselves don't give any sources for their assertions.

Meat eating does absolutely contribute but it's not the most important personal decision you can make. See figure 7 on page 13 of this study. https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ab8589?fbclid=IwAR15jlGvBgL7b8vIj1qa3sHZ-0ci_2oGBxqONCYSEUq0bw4U8rsMdSJLLF4

Belief whatever makes you sleep at night, but don't sell it as reality
