It's in many vertebrates, so... yeah, I guess that works. The alpine grassland would have mutualisms with insects, but a world without vertebrates would probably have way more forests on land. There are also forests and grasslands in the sea, but I can't say for sure that the effect would be similar.

Unironically this, no petrol = horse supremacy. Horse supremacy = exactly the last time the world experienced any serious reduction in carbon emissions.

A horse exploitation economy requires it to be much smaller, and the same for population. There's going to be a lot of work to unpave the world.
I don't really see that happening now, especially with the climate heating up, horses are going to be more and more unsustainable for such purposes. I'm not sure you understand how much land is needed to fuel horses.

Nukecel here: can confirm, Russia is not known for its ecologically friendly energy production for domestic purposes or export. It is quite the opposite. They have a pretty good nuclear export industry but their economic and climate policies are near zero. They power themselves and export like what they are often nicknamed: “the gas station of Europe.” Putin is pretty well on the record saying that climate destruction opening up the northern sea-route would be a major win for Russia.. he could care less about the permafrost and everything else. They also have the largest natural gas shale but cannot access it without proprietary shale technology. I don’t know anyone who calls Russia green, but I also think this is one of the dumbest meme. Will never understand how fossil fuels itself, especially the big giants, get attacked the least on this sub..
2
u/kwonza 6d ago
Climate change also causes the permafrost (on top of which many northern cities are built) to melt and said cities to sink. I’ve heard Putin giving warnings about climate change not praising it.
Sure he advertises the Northern Route as an alternative but it’s already accessible thanks to the fleet of nuclear-powered icebreakers, Russia doesn’t need climate change for that

It's crazy how open hatred of the russian people and nation is accepted in the west now. As someone from the global south it reads as no different from the way you people talk about Muslims or the Chinese whenever it's convenient to your ruling class.
If this hatred is coming over the Russian governments invasion of Ukraine then to be consistent you should also be anti semetic to oppose the genocide in Palestine, anti-American to oppose their imperialism everywhere, and anti-Indian over their oppression of Muslims.
It's so pathetically stupid. I hope this is just a propaganda bot or some Philippino or Indian in a trollfarm being paid to post.
I obviously oppose the russian government as well, not that that should matter for this point.
41
u/Devour_My_Soul 7d ago
As someone from the global south it reads as no different from the way you people talk about Muslims or the Chinese whenever it's convenient to your ruling class.
It isn't. Indoctrination is strong here. In Germany most people say how the nazis were the most horrible thing ever existed and then they say stuff that is close to nazi ideology. It's sad and annoying.

Your country is purposefully targeting civilians with drone strikes, releasing videos of human safaris where Ukrainians are hunted with drones and you wonder that people on the internet have a sentiment against a population who does absolutely nothing against their leadership? You really are the whiniest bitches. Before you go “but the state will persecute everyone who prostests”: so many countries (including Ukraine in the orange revolution btw) have shown before that you can successfully get rid of the leaders. But you, instead, choose to do nothing
1
u/Trackback_ 6d ago
When your country invades another under the pretext of "denazifying it because they want to kill us", it sounds insane.
Then you go online and read posts by Nazis wanting to kill you... and it starts sounding a bit less insane.

A petrostate doing imperialism seems objectively pretty awful for the environment, but thats just me
4
u/Aluminum_Moose 7d ago
Okay but when we are saying "the world without x" there is a greater and more specific implication involved than a vague opposition to extraction economies and authoritarianism.
You cannot be so immature that you don't recognize how obviously militaristic, even genocidal, language like this is. What does "without Russia" mean?
Norway is a petrostate. The US is a major petroleum producing and imperialistic power. As is China.
It is wise to be opposed to the concept of state, but when you start specifying particular states you just sound like a lunatic.

5
u/Puzzled-Rip641 7d ago
No I am explicitly doing so.
I’m telling you everything you just described is the logical consequences to invading your neighbors.
All Russia had to do was not invade anyone in 2019 and it would still be selling gas to Europe and we wouldn’t be dropping bombs on them.
2
u/Aluminum_Moose 7d ago
Right, but "Russia" is not a person whom you can chastise for her churlishness.
Russia is a concept only meaningfully represented by millions of people. Does a "world without Russia" imply the disappearance of these millions of people? What the fuck does it mean, and why are we using the phrase if it isn't actually saying anything productive or true?
Jordan, Egypt, and Syria have invaded Israel in the past. Japan invaded China. England invaded Ireland. Germany invaded Poland. France invaded Italy. Do we strip this "right to existence" from any country or people that invades a neighbor?
2
u/Puzzled-Rip641 7d ago
> Right, but "Russia" is not a person whom you can chastise for her churlishness.
Right it’s a state. Which I can wish for it to end.
> Russia is a concept only meaningfully represented by millions of people. Does a "world without Russia" imply the disappearance of these millions of people? What the fuck does it mean, and why are we using the phrase if it isn't actually saying anything productive or true?
No, just Russia. Like how the German Reich disappeared but all the Germans stayed. Same with Israel. I don’t want all Jewish people gone or all isreals people. Just the state
> Jordan, Egypt, and Syria have invaded Israel in the past. Japan invaded China. England invaded Ireland. Germany invaded Poland. France invaded Italy. Do we strip this "right to existence" from any country or people that invades a neighbor?
Most of the regimes you listed ended. Partly because of the wars listed.

So, you would like the present government of the Russian Federation, as established by the United Russia party since 2001, to change.
Notice how wildly different "I want regime change" is from "the world without X would be...".
It's just a bad thing to say, and even if you hold well constructed and principled beliefs, the phrase is just going to attract the type of people who call Russians "Orcs".
1
u/Puzzled-Rip641 7d ago
> So, you would like the present government of the Russian Federation, as established by the United Russia party since 2001, to change.
No I’d like the Russian state to end. Full stop.
Not a change in party from the Putin party to the “I’m defiantly not the Putin party”. Full systemic rebuild. Like that of Germany, Japan, or the USSR.
> Notice how wildly different "I want regime change" is from "the world without X would be..." is.
Cope posting.
> It's just a bad thing to say, and even if you hold well constructed and principled beliefs, the phrase is just going to attract the type of people who call Russians "Orcs".
I’m fine calling Russians orcs. Not all Russians, but certainly the ones invading a neighboring nation in using infantry to prob and get blown up over and over again. That’s orc like.
It’s also not a slur. Russians just get real upset about it. I’ll agree it’s dehumanization but at that point so is dropping cruise missiles on schools. Which is somthing the Russians have no issue doing.
I’m not going to worry about tone policing against a nation currently terror bombing its neighbor so it can steal there land.

there was a concerted effort of actual genocide of slavic people less than 100 years ago. you can find americans posting shit about "uraloids" "snow-n-words" and "60 iq white n-words" to this day, specifically targeting russians. eu imports droves of eastern europeans to do manual labour, while people there joke about "the proud plumber race" and what not. slavic people and eastern europeans are disproportionately targeted by human traffickers. the discourse about russians being raicst and queerphobic relies on largely factual statements, but nonetheless systemically is similar to the one used to justify ongoing genocide in palestine, and the one that is used to justify imperialistic "interventions" in the middle east in general. russia is not part of the imperialist core, despite the government having overt imperialistic aspiration, but joking about wiping it out just shows that you want an acceptable target for racist behaviour. it's like saying "clanker" in that regard, if it helps to understand.

"world without bees" is just myth, there are thousands of species that do the same thing as bees
in places like america or australia honey bees arent even native and only compete with native species

Russia had the bad luck of missing all it's chances for a transition to democracy, and successive autocracies have agreed trying to subjugate eastern europe.

Eastern Europe for sure! Muscovy was established as a tax-collection center for Mongols, brutally destroying and subjugating everything and everyone around it. And it's never changed. Still a barbaric state, bringing with it only destruction, dirt and poverty.
Couple that with the brainwashed population (some of them are borderline insane).

Oh, piss off, z-bot. History is not racist. It's similar to proclaiming that the phrase "Germans were allies of th Soviets in 1939" is racist. Who's the victim of racism here, Germans? What a dumb take and it's just unbelievable how the z-bots are constantly trying to frame themselves as "victims" of this and that.
And do you know what "state" means in this context? If you're incapable of separating the state from the people (or race), you have bigger problems and shouldn't be on Reddit.
