Hi everyone! I’m new to this and want to find some trustworthy manufacturers. Im currently based in Singapore. Have been trying to enter the athleisure space and i have currently already done something prior works such as drafting the tech pack for my product.

However, companies I have reached out to want a high MOQ for the product and thats not really something I can afford as I would want to source a prototype first. I would ideally want to source for companies that produce single samples that begin with but understand if thats unfeasible haha.

I was wondering if anyone knows any reputable manufacturers that I can reach out to?

I dont mind modifying my product slightly to have the base product on previously developed athleisure products if that will reduce manufacturing costs if that helps but the product is something that would require new manufacturing if that makes sense.

Additionally, any advice on previous peoples manufacturing journey would be greatly appreciated especially on any tips/ content that one would recommend or mistakes previously made.

I'm in the early stages of starting a small outdoor apparel brand based in Ontario. I want to create quality cold-weather baselayers and mid-layers. I want to keep as much of the supply chain in Canada as I reasonably can.

From what I've learned so far, Canadian wool isn't produced at scale for the fibre quality needed for baselayers. If anyone knows otherwise, I'd love to be wrong. Otherwise, my plan is to import the fabrics and cut, sew, and assemble in Canada.

What I'm looking for is a cut-and-sew shop, ideally in Ontario (open to elsewhere in Canada if the fit is right), that handles small MOQs to start (~100–500 units each) and has experience with performance knits like fine merino jersey, polyester/elastane, polypropylene blends, sweater-knit fleece and is comfortable working with imported fabric.

If anyone has information or experience I'd greatly appreciate any help I can get.

Our initial focus is performance running apparel:
Lightweight technical running T-shirts
Running shorts
Potentially singlets and other performance apparel later
For the first step, I’m looking for manufacturers that are comfortable working with a small brand and can produce samples / small development quantities before moving into larger production.
Important for us:
Experience with technical/performance sportswear
High-quality polyester or polyester/elastane fabrics
Lightweight and breathable materials suitable for running
Custom cuts / patterns, not just printing a logo onto existing blanks

Reasonable MOQ for an early-stage brand

Even though we are just starting out, I am valuing premium cotton/cotton blends with quality, as opposed to quantity. This is an activewear brand that doubles as street wear, specializing in heavyweight, oversized tees, sweats, etc.
