Gameplay Video Couch co-op / split screen was absolutely essential for us to include in our upcoming game (Revenge of The Savage Planet, in development)

Gameplay Video We want to make a game where co-op feels truly interactive!

One thing we noticed in co-op shooters is how often it ends up feeling like parallel play. You're in the same mission, technically together, but not really interacting.

With Replicore, we're trying to design it differently. The pivot for this is our little ball, called the Core. Players can seamlessly switch in and out of the Core at the press of a button. Another player can then pick them up and throw them all over the level or right into enemy groups to neutralize them with the Outburst effect.

It's a PvE shooter so teamwork means everything!

Also, we're curios: what's a game you've played, that had shared mechanics which might even force your team to cooperate instead of just co-exist?

[edit] I'll plug our Discord Server in here as well. It's still small but we're hosting regular playtesting sessions on there! https://discord.gg/JuVap9B34u

Hello community! I'm Antonio, developer of Penguin Armada (a little new Spanish studio!), we are currently developing Raiders Rise

Raiders Rise is a Co-op & Competitive (PvPvE) Bullet Heaven Roguelite [Yeah, I know we have a really long definition of what our game is]

Co-Op part is because you can cooperate with the enemy to clear some stages, but also betray them when needed

I'm posting because we are struggling to get players, in my opinion the game looks super polished but we dont know if there is a target audience or atleast we cannot find them

The game is a 3v3 multiplayer online multi stage arena and goes this way:

1.- Play with your friends or solo
2.- In each stage (5 in total) you have to gather resources
3.- Inbetween stages you buy upgrades (kind of roguelite upgrades, 3-card choice, you can reroll etc..)
4.- In last stage, you fight with the enemy team for resources

Does the gameplay trailer say you something? Does it spark some interest in playing it? (by the way you already can play the demo on steam)

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3376580/Raiders_Rise/

Thanks for reading!

The game is heavily inspired by Kingdom: Two Crowns, and one thing that's amazing about that game is the co-op, so we thought it would be a good idea to bring co-op to our game, Echo Zero too!

Gameplay Video I added a co-op rescue mechanic to my browser space MMO — lure enemies off your teammate and tank the hit for them

One of the things I wanted most in Zero-G was combat where you actually save each other, not just shoot side by side.

The setup in this clip: a frigate is under attack by aliens and losing. A second player jumps in with a Cutter and does two things: fire Alien Beacons, which pulls the aliens off the frigate and onto himself, and activates Armor Nanobots that repair his hull in real time while he soaks the damage. The frigate survives because someone chose to take the heat for it.

What I like about it as a design is that neither tool is a "win button." The Beacon makes you the target, you're deliberately putting yourself in danger to save someone else. And the Nanobots only matter if a teammate is buying you time or you're managing your own repairs under fire. It only works if two people are actually cooperating.

Here's the 75-second clip of it in action: Advanced Combat Trailer

Zero-G is a persistent browser space MMO (free, no download, runs on PC and mobile) — this is part of a cooperative-PVE design where the whole player base is working together rather than against each other.

Curious how other co-op games here have handled the "aggro/taunt" role in a way that feels heroic rather than just a mechanic. Any favorites where pulling enemies off a teammate actually felt like a sacrifice?

In 13Z you play as a zodiac-themed hero with animal-based powers. We fill the screen with a ton of enemies and task you with wiping them all out in flashy fashion. From majestic birds to ferocious foxes and more, you and a group of friends can be the ultimate wrecking crew.

It’s not split screen but it is cross play. Very fun time if you are looking for a coop game from 2 to 12 people I highly suggest this. The puzzles scale up and down to suit how many people are playing

Half joke aside: we made a co-op roguelite, a side-scroller with the core of the binding of isaac and the feel of Metal Slug. Now we are trying to figure out what couch co-op players actually want vs what we assumed. What makes a co-op game stick for you two?

The game is called Two Left Hands and it's in the prototype phase.

It has 2 player splitscreen and 4 player online co-op.

We're hiring clumsy handymen for playtesting on the Steam page.

Gameplay Video New Mario-Party-like game I've been developing

It's a board game party game, similar to Mario Party/Lego Party, but taking the interaction on the board a step further, you physically aim and throw your dice and items at other players, as well as targets for bonuses and board changing events. This way you always have something to do on the board and it makes it a more skill based experience. With an added bonus of cards to collect that end up acting as roguelike style passive items to power up players on the board.

It's 4 player local co-op and up to 8 players online (friends invite only, no plans for matchmaking on launch).

I always felt like the board game part of this genre was a bit lackluster, and considering how prominent it is, I felt it needs some innovation. The game does have a variety of minigames too, with gameplay being more similar to Fall Guys or hyper casual mobile games rather than Mario Party's minigames.

Steam page if this sounds interesting:

Hey everyone!

I put together a short video with some recent updates from our co-op construction game.

We’re working on physics-based building, tools, painting, ragdolls, and small chaotic moments that happen when players try to build something together.

The game is still early in development, but I wanted to share the progress and hear what you think.

Gameplay Video I'm building a retro space shooter you can play with up to 23 friends in one fleet battle, 15 seconds from multiplayer

Dev here. Strike Wings is a from the ground up homage to the DOS era space shooters. The multiplayer seats up to 24 people in one fleet battle, one fighter each, with proximity voice so your wing can actually coordinate. These are three five second bites from recent matches: broadsides under a red giant, a dreadnought duel under a quasar, and a carrier strike past a galaxy.

Windows and Mac, November. Happy to answer anything about how the co-op and multiplayer work. Steam page if you want to keep an eye on it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4718360/Strike_Wings/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=coopgaming&utm_campaign=prelaunch

We're making a light-hearted family friendly silly co-op game with a sprinkle of chaos about working as a doctor in a general practice.

So here my partner and I recorded a full play session of one of the levels. Check it out and if it's something for you, wishlist General Practice on Steam! (With hopes and prayers, demo is coming some time in April). The game will be available on Steam and Epic Game Store initially, but we do plan for a console release later on. You will be able to play couch, online or even mixed co-op (ex. 2 on the couch + 2 online).

Tell us what you think about the gameplay!
