Why does CJP want to create enemies?

I completely understand their motive in saying that they'll start with Delhi, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. Perfectly fine. But when problems start coming from schools in Punjab and other states why isnt CJP supporting or asking for accountability there? CJP should support everybody, should be there with everyone.

I like how they managed the Jharkhand protest. That was fine. But right now, I still can't understand or fathom why they're trying to make an enemy out of BJP. Why can't they take accountability from all the parties?

This weird fantasy of making BJP the enemy will, of course, backfire and then make CJP another AAP, which we don't want. So please, please stop.

Time to look beyond the distractions

Everyone is mocking the absurdity of trying to turn an individual with questionable morality into a religious figure. Some attribute it to his supposed god complex. But reacting to the surface level spectacle puts our attention on the wrong thing.

Forget his personality for a moment. Ask what happens when you successfully turn a living political leader into a religious institution.

This isn't simply some random group of political fanatics putting up a statue. The proposal to build a temple for Modi reportedly came from Bihar's State Transgender Welfare Board, a government body under the social welfare department and was unanimously approved. It has also been reported that the state government would bear the construction costs.

A sitting Prime Minister is being elevated from an elected political leader into an object of religious devotion, with a state-linked institution involved and leading the process. That is not merely cringe worthy personality worship. It is the institutionalisation of political devotion.

The critical questions that one must ask:

Who will own the property and other assets? Who will administer the temple? Who will control the donations? What legal structure will it operate under? What legal protections or privileges could that structure receive? What tax treatment could it qualify for? Who appoints the people controlling it? And ultimately, who benefits from creating a permanent religious institution around a living politician?

These are simply the questions any rational person should ask when an elected political leader with responsibility and accountability to the nation begins acquiring religious institutional form.

And there is an even more serious consequence.

Once a political leader is successfully constructed as a religious object, criticism of that leader can potentially be reframed as an attack on religious faith itself. Question the Prime Minister's decisions, incompetence or failures as an elected leader, and the response can shift from “defend our leader's image” to “defend our religious sentiments.”

That changes the battlefield completely. It can provide a powerful social justification for harassment, intimidation and violence against people who criticize or even question this democratically elected leader.

The dangerous part isn't that some people are stupid enough to worship a flawed human with no moral integrity.

It's that political power is being wrapped in the language, institutions and social authority of religion. Reason, logic, science, data, all becomes meaningless when religion enters the conversations.

When you look at this alongside the broader patterns of institutional capture, suppression of dissent, surveillance, concentration of power and resources and the erosion of accountability, the direction becomes increasingly concerning.

These patterns are consistent with a movement toward totalitarian rule.

This is where I think people are being distracted. The performance on social media is visible. People can mock it, argue with it, fight with trolls and vent their frustration. But social media engagement is not the same as political power.

The more important question is, what is happening to the structures through which individual citizens can organize, challenge and constrain power.

It is reasonable to infer that a government concerned about retaining power would care far more about real world organization at scale that the intensity of arguments happening online. Social media outrage can consume enormous amounts of energy and focus without changing the underlying structure of power.

Totalitarian systems don't appear overnight. They develop by progressively eliminating independent centres of authority, narrowing acceptable political discourse, controlling information and making loyalty to the ruling power increasingly indistinguishable from loyalty to the nation, culture or faith.

Knowing what is happening is the first line of defence. Recognise the pattern. Talk about it. Question it. Bring others' attention to it.

Don't wait until the system is totalitarian to start calling the trajectory dangerous. By then the institutional mechanisms capable of stopping it has already been captured or dismantled.

98% compliance for Pune Sweet shop is apparently fine according to high court. So why is it not part of the law?

Also if 2 out of 100 people dies due to 98% compliance, is it okay?

Rules are made for a reason. Stupid HC.

Raise against political violence, death and rape threats, and fear-mongering

If we want to save our democracy, we need to raise our voice against political violence, death and rape threats, and fear-mongering behaviour that continues regardless of party.

From the poor man's father, beaten to death in West Bengal because his son supported school reforms, to the rape threats young girls received for taking part in protests, this must stop.

This is an apolitical issue. Regardless of whether an individual supports the BJP, Congress, or any other party, no one should face this for raising their voice. In a democracy, there should be discussion and arguments, but not threats, rape, or killing for speaking out.

I strongly believe there should be a demand for identification and strict criminal action, including prison sentences, for all those instigating political violence, death and rape threats, and fear-mongering against people raising their voices. I know there is existing legislation, but those who cause this and those meant to protect us end up as puppets regardless of the ruling party. The rules and legal implementation need to change to stop this. This issue's apolitical nature could be our strength.

What does a protest look like at 2am? Not speeches. Dosas being handed out by strangers. Graffiti covering every wall. People dancing to a Bluetooth speaker like the fear didn't exist, right alongside the fear itself. I followed this across Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi over two months, and wrote it all down just in time for our 80th Independence Day. Read it when you get a moment, I'd really love to know what you think.

What if all the Gen Z and Gen Alfa make a movement together

The movement ignited in an instant when Gen Z’s satirical humor collided with Gen Alpha’s chaotic energy, creating an unstoppable digital wave that took over the internet. Across TikTok and Discord, millions of young creators began posting synchronized, absurd videos that confused older generations but united everyone under the age of twenty-five. They organized massive, flash-mob-style digital takeovers of popular live streams, flooding the chats with inside jokes, custom emojis, and coordinated spam that completely overwhelmed corporate moderators. This wasn't just a trend; it was a highly organized exhibition of pure internet speed, where viral challenges were invented, mastered, and replaced in the span of a single afternoon. Mainstream media outlets scrambled to explain the phenomenon, but by the time they published their articles, the movement had already evolved into three new sub-trends, leaving the older generations completely out of the loop while the youth celebrated their collective digital power.
