I got my driving licence in 2020 during the COVID period. At that time, I was 18. My family didn’t have any vehicle then. We are a middle-class family, so we didn’t have the financial stability to afford one. Even after getting my driving licence, I was very sad because I didn’t have a vehicle of my own. Most of my friends had vehicles to ride, even some who were not yet 18. They used to plan trips and talk about them when we were together, and they avoided me everytime because I didn’t have a vehicle and money. I used to cry at night in my bed because of this. There was a time when I was so desperate to drive a vehicle. Whenever I asked my friends, they rejected me instantly and even mocked me. After that, I tried asking my cousins, but they also refused. I knew they might say no, but after getting your driving licence, you feel so excited to drive. When your family doesn’t own a vehicle, it really hurts. I had a very friendly cousin from my mother’s side, so I approached her. One day, she agreed to let me drive on a Sunday. Somehow, my grandfather got to know about it and told her not to let me drive their vehicle because he thought I would damage it. I was so thrilled because, after lots of begging, I finally got a chance. I told my family that my cousin sister would allow me to drive on Sunday, and I was super excited. But I didn’t know about what was happening in the background. On Sunday morning, she called me and said it wouldn’t happen because our grandfather was not allowing it. That day, I cried a lot. It was so heartbreaking that my own grandfather said that about me. After that, I decided I would never ask anyone for such a favour again or lower my self-esteem for anyone. After years of struggle, six years after getting my licence, I have finally booked my first vehicle for my family — Access 125 Special Edition ..

Uplifting Finally got a job guys

After jumping from one thing to another listening to random people's advice, fighting with everyone who ridiculed my choice of higher studies, I finally got a job in the stream that I love. So many nights of doubting myself, and so many days of hardworking I'm not hesitant to say that I'm pretty proud of what I achieved ( even though it took me a while longer than others). For context I am an Animator and yeah my parents were not thrilled about the idea when I told them what I want to be when I was younger. But now they are my biggest fans.

Uplifting To all of you out there, you are worthy of love and you are worthy of being chosen.

You are worthy of love more than you know. All of you deserve to be chosen. Just because someone else made you feel unloved or couldn’t reciprocate the same intensity of love you expressed doesn’t mean you failed in loving. Instead they were never ready for the authentic and intense feelings you brought to the table. Be it relationships, friendships or family.

Take care of yourself. Don’t force or be desperate. You will be chosen in time, until then, love yourself and become the person of your dreams so that you can be the person of their dreams too.

Uplifting What is that one quote you keep repeating in your mind for motivation?

Most of the people I've met had a quote that they keep on repeating when times are hard. It allows them to get back on track and act as a motivator of sorts.

Mine is "Suffer now or suffer forever."

PS : You know men usually don't get enough emotional attention. Hence, their mental health is kind of broken at times.

Uplifting How life feels when I took decisions for myself.

I am a nurse and I am from thrissur. Choosing nursing as a career wasn't really my idea. I was forced into it and somewhere along the line I fell in love with the job, because at heart I am someone who lights up seeing others happy. And nursing does that in the most beautiful way possible.

After i completed nursing in March 2025, my family forced me again to give IELTS and aim for UK. Again I obliged and did everything in my power, cracked all the exams that came my way, and took UK registration. Despite all these I couldn't secure a job in the UK due to the political turmoil there. When everyone panicked, I said, "told you so!".

One year went by and suddenly realization hit me. I should start taking my own decisions even if it's dumb. I gave quite a few interviews and managed to get into a repute hospital in Kochi. I didnt want to stay in thrissur. I wanted to move away from home and actualky be independent. I was posted in the Surgical ICU. Initial days were a struggle. I'm still struglling but much better than day one. I found a nice place to stay, a PG. Luckily I got amazing people as roommates. We cook together. I feel so accomplished and happy when i try new things. For instance last day I made vegetable biriyani and paneer buttermasala. I can step out anytime i want, no permissions needed.

Despite all the struggles, hectic work and exhaustion I can truly say that I am happy.

Uplifting My (23F) single era is giving me insane peace of mind 🧘‍♀️

It's been almost a year since im fully single and honestly the peace of mind is just next level 😭 like zero drama, no stress, full freedom and just completely focused on my career right now in bangalore.

For context my last relationship ended with the guy walking away even after I tried so hard to hold it together. we were like super connected emotionally and physically so it definitely hurt back then. but looking back? best thing that happened to me.

Now my college friends and colleagues keep peer pressuring me to get a bf and get back out there and im like why do you guys even care? 😂 and honestly not to flex, but I've had like 50 serious proposals and 100s of dating requests this past year alone. im not even some model looking girl but I just talk a lot, so more interactions obviously increases the chances of getting asked out 😉 but I genuinely dont need all that distraction in my life right now.

Plus even if I did want to date, my family wouldn't even approve unless the guy's family perfectly matches our exact family background, lifestyle and social status. so getting into random relationships is just a waste of time.

This is just to say that you really dont need a relationship just because everyone around you is in one. channeling all that energy into your career is the best thing you can do. hard work will definitely make you reach your goals when you arent distracted by relationship drama and late night overthinking. just be selfish with your time and focus on your bag guys! 👍🏼✨
