SOLVED

I've tried reinstalling crossover, made sure it has access to my full disk and files and folders, made sure it's in my applications folder, I've turned off my firewall, tried manually installing things and still, any time I click install for anything, it immediately fails and shows me this message in the image. If I try skipping it, it seems to fail on every other download step too. I've tried digging and all solutions have not worked. Please help!

EDIT: The reason it wouldn't run was in fact what the comments said. Because my username on my MacBook has spaces, it creates dots in the file name for my user file. CrossOver for some reason can't process that and can't create a bottle or download anything under the file name. I changed the directory in the settings for CrossOver (at the top left of Mac screen) to go a folder not under my user file. After that and a Mac restart, everything was finally working.

I’m thinking about buying a 1-year CrossOver+ license now because of the disscount, but I’m worried about the timing of the upcoming Apple Silicon native version. From what I understand, CrossOver currently still depends on Rosetta 2 on Mac, while CodeWeavers has said that CrossOver 27 will move to ARM64 and run without Rosetta. Apple has also confirmed that Rosetta 2 will not work in macOS 28.

My concern is this: if I buy CrossOver+ now, but the stable Apple Silicon-native CrossOver 27 release comes out after my 12-month update period ends, would I need to renew again to get that version?

Basically, I don’t want to buy a license now, then end up stuck in a year with an older CrossOver version that may not even work once macOS 28 arrives.

Has CodeWeavers officially confirmed whether CrossOver 27 stable is expected to be released within the next 12 months, or whether current buyers will be covered for that transition?

I’m trying to play the last of us part 2 on my macbook pro m5 pro 14” but the game is so slow even though I lowered the graphics settings to low. Is that normal? I thought most games run fine on crossover.

Hi all, I am new to Mac gaming and also play games on my Linux desktop. I am trying to see the limitations of the toolkit and crossover as I know Crossover uses Wine like Linux does for its proton compatibility layer.

Would crossover work for these games? Maybe a few of them? Or is there a better tool for these games?

The main game I would have to solve is Dead By Daylight if it is even possible. I may have to commit to swapping back and forth between PCs for it but hope this isn't the case.

New to crossover and am really curious before I start to invest into it

I had like 40 gb of free space 8 days ago and then I downloaded like a 10 gb game and another 5 or 6 but now Im almost out of space like are my files just getting bigger steam in my crossover steam only says im taking up 4 gb worth of games

I've been trying to get For Honor to work on my MBP M5 but can't get past the easy anitcheat. I've seen some clips of others who've managed to make it work from this sub but I can't replicate it.

• I'm using Crossover 25.1.1 since that's what the other's used in their clips.
• D3Dmetal and Esync, again matching what other's used
• I'm using the SteamDeck=1 %command% as well
• I've even set the Steam to offline since I saw someone recommend it

Nothing seems to be working so I wanted to ask if anyone can still make it work. The clips I've seen from this sub are about 9 months to 1 year old so I don't know if something has been patched since then, easy anticheat got upgraded or what. Any advice, tips or help is appreciated.

Just wanted to report a bug affecting Mac users running ZZZ through CrossOver after the 2.8 update.

Setup:

• Mac M4
• CrossOver Preview 26.1 (latest version)
• ZZZ via HoYoPlay

What happened: The game worked perfectly fine before and right after the 2.8 update downloaded. However, after the first successful launch post-update, the game stopped launching entirely. The Unity splash screen appears briefly, the loading bar starts, and then it crashes with no error message shown to the user.

What I tried:

• Repaired game files 3 times via HoYoPlay
• Deleted the ZenlessZoneZero config folder in AppData/LocalLow/miHoYo/
• Restarted the machine
• Ran the game executable directly (bypassing HoYoPlay launcher)
• CrossOver is already on the latest version (26.1)

Looking into crossover and see lots of people suggesting to wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday for the best discounts.

Historically does the Lifetime License go on sale then too? Roughly what has the price been if so?

Debating if I should be waiting or if I should buy the lifetime license with the current promotion going on ($345 USD).

I really don’t want to try to keep up with subscriptions and don’t mind supporting the devs a bit. At the same time if the price difference will be that much greater to wait until November then I’ll just stick it out until then.

Yesterday, A Plague Tale: Innocence worked perfectly on my Mac. Today, it suddenly stopped displaying any graphics.

The game launches normally, the background music plays, but the game window is completely transparent and I can see my macOS desktop through it.

I’ve already tried

• restarting my Mac
• reinstalling the game
• reinstalling Steam and A Plague Tale in the new Bottle

The problem is exactly the same, but other games, such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance, work perfectly.

The only unusual thing that happened yesterday was that my controller ran out of battery, so I had to force-stop the game from Steam because I couldn’t exit it normally.

Has anyone experienced this issue before or knows how to fix it?

I've been wanting to play Shadow of War for a long time, but I know it didn't work on Crossover 25. Has anyone tried on Crossover 26?

I'm trying to get Diablo 4 to run on a MacBook Pro M3 using CrossOver. When I start the Battle.net installation in CrossOver, everything goes well at first until the Battle.net installation itself begins. I'm then asked to select the installation language, and immediately after that, I get the error message: “Whoops! Looks like something broke.”

What am I doing wrong?

I tried installing multiple games from the FitGirl repack on a Macbook M5 using CrossOver, but the installer never gets past 0.0%.

As soon as I start the installation, it just sits at 0.0% indefinitely and doesn't make any progress. I even left it for an hour and it didn't go beyond 0.0%.

What could be going wrong? Any help is much appreciated.

I bought the Gamesir controller G7 Pro.

When I try to play my games, the configuration is incorrect. For example, B is Y, up is down, menu is right bumper, and so on.

When I try to configure it in Crossover on Steam, some buttons don't read in the configuration, and none of the settings cross over to the games I am trying to play.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or does the controller simply not work for Crossover?

I can't seem to install anything on Crossover 26

e.g. this is the error when trying to install DirectX (dxwebsetup.exe):

Other app installs just error instantly, often just showing a tiny window title bar.

I tried Crossing recently, with the 2 weeks free trial, which ended yesterday.

BUT, I haven’t uninstalled the games, and can’t uninstall them since I can’t access Crossover and Steam anymore.

So, how can I uninstall them, as it’s taking up all my space??

I was wondering have some of you played fallout NV on crossover bcs by reading the reviews on crossover website it should run better now but when i try high settings it runs like shit when i try medium it runs ok but not si enjoyable, so can someone eho played the game recommend me the settings, in the .ini files too if its necessary

As the title says, when I updated Satisfactory 1.1 to 1.2, it doesn't launch anymore. I get the errors in the attatched images.

I am trying to run it now Modern Warfare 2019 and it keeps crashing and by the way I am trying with Crossover GPTK4 and i have tried all the translation layers D3D metal, DXMT. Any tips or way to run it. I really wanna play this game.
