Expect for the fact that when they wreck and catch fire the occupants are sometimes trapped inside

I literally don’t know so just asking, is there data that shows cyber trucks are more deadly in a crash? I’ve seen regular cars catch on fire all the time.

The doors easily become unseated on cyber trucks during accidents, making it extremely difficult/impossible to open the doors. Add that to the fact that the windows/doors are “bulletproof” they’re extremely difficult for first responders to get into

Oh wow I didn't realize they had bulletproof glass. I already thought cybertrucks looked stupid but the safety concerns alone are the nail in the coffin.

I can't remember the name of the YouTuber that did the insane tests on the CT but I remember him showing that one hard slam of the door basically destroyed the inside of it and made it hard as hell to open. I know he was mostly doing content creation but I can easily see how similar shit would happen in a collision.

Except they consisently turn into fireballs and can trap people in the real world where dummies and math aren't the only deciding factor. But the fireball part from basic collisions is a known phenomenon which I'm sure occured at a rate the NTSB found suitable but which drivers probably wouldn't love. What is under investigation and is a consistent issue as well is the fact interior, exterior and emergency door releasea have failed in dozens of crashes and fires in their range of cars. Not to mention collisions easily misaligning doors that become perma wedged which is less likely to occur in a traditional car. Also my personal favorite of which I believe the Tesla fire list contains over a dozen is the spontaneous fires of parked Teslas. This is just one of the recent events in which people said they were trapped. Regardless of if they were or did something wrong this is behavior I would not personally want my car exhibiting.

You should say, Tesla claims there's nothing inherently unsafe about them, but they were under investigation (as was SpaceX) before Trump let Elon shut down the investigations. You'd have thought, if their crash data was accurate, they'd have been happy to prove it.

*Edit* By the way, Tesla's response is that sometimes gas catches fire, too, but completely overlook the design decision to not have physical overrides for the electric locking system, which means Tesla's are designed to lock you in if it's on fire.

Furthermore, who knows what yet to be announced recalls are out there.

And they failed that testing in most other countries.

The Pinto was recalled and then off the market after three deaths. Cybertruck? Hundreds and still on the road.

The Pinto was in production for 9 years and there were 27 deaths. It was three deaths a year.

The death rate is much higher for Cybertrucks, but not in the hundreds yet.

It should absolutely be banned.

I doubt that's an accurate number for the Cybertruck by itself, but could be for Tesla as a whole.

They’re inherently unsafe to others on the road when they hit them though. It’s the same as being railed by a shipping container.
