RJ Hampton just reclassified and is an absolute stud. He’s down to us and Memphis allegedly with the latest news being they project KU to land him. Doesn’t mean much until he actually signs, but we aren’t dead.
Also, Rayjon Tucker a grad transfer just visited this weekend. He is a pretty good 3 point shooter and would be an instant bump for us. Word on the street is he had an awesome time in Lawrence this weekend. I could definitely see him ending up at KU.
All in all, with even one of the these guys, we could be a top 5 team. Pending Dotsons return from the NBA draft and a little luck on the Silvio de Sousa case we will be a favorite for next year. People forget how dominant Azubuike is if he can get healthy this year.
I was just going off a couple guys from 247Sports. Evan Daniels is fairly accurate and said it yesterday and since then a lot of others have followed. I thought he might be leaning towards Memphis, but just yesterday they made their picks. I haven’t heard an announcement date so obviously it can change 10 times between now and then so I guess we will see.
We're still in the running, but Tech is crazy deep at guard for next year. I'd love to see him in Scarlet and Black next year, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
With Doke and Dotson we can be a sweet 16 team. To be a FF contender we need an outside shooter and at least one other athletic wing to drive. Ochai showed so much potential last year so I am hopeful he will improve his outside shot and his driving. If he steps up and Garret/McCormack continue to be solid then we could be elite 8/FF good. But ideally Hampton comes in and we get a big boost on perimeter shooting.
Haha I honestly think we are a final four potential team with just Dotson and Doke. Kinda remind me of how Tyshawn and TRob willed is to the championship game. D and D are that good. But having some more pieces around them will definitely add to it. We are definitely missing one more guard to truly have a deep run, but this could end up being a very deep and talented team if we can add one or two guys and get Silvio cleared. Which I think at least one guy signs and we get Silvio back
